Things have changed of course but that's inevitable. The big picture is that Simon and Lewis gave jobs and security to friends and built a company, and have given jobs to so many people over the years. We're always nostalgic for things to be the way they were again, but it's good to take a moment to celebrate what has come from all those moments. And yogs have invested in people and this is the result. Instead of mansions for the founders we have a room full of love
A think that's one of the main reasons this community has stayed together is because of all the love shared it feels like a honest group not a corporation pumping out vids. Especially many youtubers get gig and become incredibly flashy, egotistical and arrogant acting like they have become better through fame or wealth. Its nice when some go unchanged.
Fortunately not that many main Yogs have left, and new Yogs have been added at a pretty nice pace, and with all the streaming Simon is more active recently than he’s been in a long time, it can result in drama but it’s nice that they’ve built more of a group of friends than a group of coworkers
This is the song that made me go from "Dwarfs how boring" to "DEEP UNDERGROUND!" when looking at fantasy races. Suffice to say I sung along start to finish, and even held the final note.
I am so thankful to Boba for joining the Yogs so I can live vicariously through her and experience her second-hand joy from being the Yognaught-who-made-it.
This really reminds me of the night they all sang Fairy Tale of New York at like 2am during the 2012 Jingle Jam. It's crazy to think how much has happened since then.
No offense to the yogs' performance but I really want a standalone release of just the Longest Johns doing this song. They gave the song some amazing twists that were somewhat drowned out by the rest that I would really like to hear in their full glory :D
I've been a yogscast fan for years. I learned about the longest john's when they were doing their Open Crew-sings. Never expected them to collab, nor as much as they do, but i love every moment of it.
without all the other instruments playing it's easier to listen to the lyrics, and it's always fun to do some literary analysis when there's no grade attached, so: This song really comprises all of what it means to be a dwarf, at least in most fantasy worlds. Obsessive work, always doing something, deeper, deeper, find jewels, deeper, deeper. "Dwarves won't fly so high" either has a connotation of regretted self-deprecation that they won't ever go that far, OR they're so backwards that they think of "up" as "down" and the day they see the moon is the day the dwarves have fallen. When the dwarves return at the end of the music video, they've all certainly seen the blue moon glow. So that part is eschewed from the song and they end on the last diggy diggy hole. The dwarves are back, and know their strength and worth, and their will to do anything, perhaps even too much, despite their smaller stature is unlimited.
It was weird hearing Dr. Simon Clark not referred to by his whole name. Just hearing 'Dr. Simon' sounds weird after only hearing him called him 'Dr. Simon Clark' for so long
This brings back such good nostalgia, so many good memories laughing and seeing these wonderful people grow! Amazing clip as well, thanks for bringing back many great memories!~
@@ahhhhyes I loved how they all just cursed out duncan after he texted them to sing Mariner's Revenge and it's just "Fuck you duncan come into the office and we'll do it"
TLJ are great, was so surprised and happy to sea that they would be on stream this year. It would be amazing if they recorded a proper cover of this lol.
Jeez this brings back old campfire songs, folk dancing and church choirs. Feels like I'm watching a Christmas carol near my house. Hits bizarrely hard.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how well Diggy Diggy Hole works as a sea shanty
A lot of shanties were work songs, so put an underground work song on a boat and then boom, you got a shanty
It was amazing !
I mean that very irish/scotch shanty sound works perfectly with the rhythmic drumming of diggy diggy hole
Me and the boys sing this while mining on Hoxxes
The difference between a Sea Shanty and Chain Song is the material beneath ya' feet.

I've had this feeling for years but you worded it better than I ever could.
Always felt this, what FAZE could never be
They all have mansions in our hearts
I somehow forget every year Smith has a great singing voice!
Same. And I keep forgetting Dr. Clarke is a seasoned choral singer
Smith throwing in some harmonies none the less
goddamn I love the yogscast, been watching for more than half of my life.
Same! More than 10 years have passed and I still love everything and everyone involved.
Damn hey Haedox!
This comment just made me realise the same thing! Fuck I’m old
I always love to see how passionate Lewis is when it comes to this song
Lewis gave it his all for every song it was hilarious
@@ahhhhyes i might have to rewatch the whole thing then
I think it partly comes from what series it came from and how much he wishes they could finish it.

Boba looks so damn happy doing this 😂
I developed such a mini crush on Boba, her smile is so contagious and her energy always brightens the room ^^ So glad she's here to stay ahah
That's why she's the "Fan That Made It"

This is the closest thing we'll get to a Karaoke Stream. It's pretty good for what it is
oh shit are we not getting one this year?
@@bananasandpeaches no. Cos twitch has DMCA copyright stuff going on
@@finbar1184 oh shit right, didn't even consider that. That sucks.

I loved them streams
Honestly this resonates with me, its just showing me how far the yogscast have come and how far they will still go!
We do not fear what lies beneath!

Damn, that hit a bit harder then I expected. Very lovely rendition, too, and they came together nicely!
I have to say ben has a good supporting voice while they were singing
That reads honestly, I feel like Ben is the ultimate wingman
No offense to the yogs' performance but I really want a standalone release of just the Longest Johns doing this song. They gave the song some amazing twists that were somewhat drowned out by the rest that I would really like to hear in their full glory :D
they are working on it
When did they say they were working on it? Got me excited!
@@BiscuitTin__ where did they confirm this ^^
Your wish has been released
If you can, you should upload their Rubber Tree cover too. That shit was fire.

Andy Yates leading Diggy Diggy Hole well note that down as something I didn't know I wanted before I got it
OKAY BUT THE HARMONIES!! I love this so much!

10/10 for your analysis
Actually, the "Dwarves don't fly so high" is a reference to their MoonQuest song.
@@macoud12 yeah, of course. But both are in the context of the same dwarf society in the setting.
One of my friends joined the stream just too late to catch this, thanks for getting this video out so quickly!
What?! I love the Longest Johns! I am so sad I missed this
Definitely worth a rewatch the whole stream was amazing
The crossover I never knew I needed
The Longest Johns were SO good! This song just made my whole evening
I was so happy to have caught this live. I grabbed a coke, put it on on the main TV and sang along with everyone. Absolutely made my day
Great.
Now that song's stuck in my head again...
Is that necessarily a bad thing? I think not.
@@CameronFulbright
Eh. fair enough
It's better this way.
i dont know why it took me so long to realize thats smith in the front
This is not the crossover i was ever expecting to see... I need me a Longest Johns cover of Diggy diggy hole!
This is beautiful, it touched my soul like nothing else does
It was weird hearing Dr. Simon Clark not referred to by his whole name. Just hearing 'Dr. Simon' sounds weird after only hearing him called him 'Dr. Simon Clark' for so long
I can't believe I got a teeny tiny bit emotional over a song with the words 'diggy diggy' in it
Oh that was nice when they came in on the courius! UMMM!!! So Good!
Thanks for uploading this, caught myself singing along to it. Incidentally I was served a rather targeted ad beforehand for The Longest Johns.
I can’t stop staring at Ben he looks so at peace
I love how happy boba is throughout this
this stream gave me enough serotonin to last me the year I think
This brings back such good nostalgia, so many good memories laughing and seeing these wonderful people grow! Amazing clip as well, thanks for bringing back many great memories!~
Somehow, I feel the one thing that would make this perfect, I'd if it had a Hurdy Gurdy playing in the background.
This is such a beautiful Yoggy moment.
I'm a little sad Simon isn't a part of this one. It's not quite the same without him.
Ye would've been cool if duncan was there for rubber tree too but cant complain was still amazing. One of the best jingle jam streams ever imo

This is totally Todders.
probably the person i envy most, in a good way, is boba
Well well well, my first ad for this video featuring the longest johns was an advert for the longest johns, small world isn’t it?
god damn if I'm not tearing up a bit at this
Holy shit, the turnaround time on this!

Soon after this one they did Misty Mountains Cold. So good! Lewis was so into it! Whole stream was great!
As someone who still belts that song(it was my number 1 song of spotify) I love this so much
good god my 2 faverouite things AND THEY DID A CROSS OVER, I LOVE IT!
I hope you got a clip of the Mary Ellen Carter, what a performance
That one note being held longer gives it a jazzier sound and really throws me off.
This song is what lead me to discovering the yogscast, and I love that they still sing it with such passion ❤
I'm so mad I missed this live!!!
This is got to be the most wholesome moment I've ever seen in my life. It's perfect.
Give it some audio mixing love and release on Bandcamp or Spotify soon? I'd happily add it to any fantasy playlist without question
Can we get an official Longest Johns cover of Diggy Diggy Hole please
Ben has such a dad dance vibe
not to be sentimental but this kicks ass
This… This brings a tear to my eyes

"I just work here and leech money" okay sit down you

The closest we'll get to the karaoke stream this year.
They aren't doing it? Is it because every year it completely derails as everyone gets progressively wasted?
