- The Story of Aaron Livesy from Itv's soap opera Emmerdale.
Synopsis: Aaron's released from hospital but he's reluctant to return to the village and ignores Chas in the street.
Carl reminds her that the Chas he knows wouldn't give up on her son so easily. She's later relieved when Paddy reveals that Aaron has agreed to see the psychiatrist.
At Smithy, Aaron's grateful for the normality when Adam pays him a visit. However, it's clear that Aaron's still in a fragile state and can't cope with being mollycoddled.
Adamant that she's going to be there for Aaron, Chas decides to move back into Smithy, much to the surprise of Paddy and Carl. Is that really what Aaron needs? How will Carl react?

considering how Chas is always getting involved in Aaron's life, its hard to believe she previously abandoned him to be raised by someone else

Leave Aaron alone! He just wants to be with Adam. Seems like a good choice to me.
Hope he continues to see someone, though, a therapist, if they find him a good one.

@Demetri450 Being abandoned and then having to see the person to adandoned you almost everyday isn't something you just get over. It's also something that would exacerbate a deperessed person which is what Aaron is. He's severly depressed and the pressure of having to deal with Chas doesn't and isn't making that any better.

@HigherC Agreed. Euro writers are so much more about telling a meaningful story...one which derives its meaning from a grounding in reality, is easily related to by many or which has some positive underlying moral within the drama which is clearly communicated. I don't think it is any coincidence or external factors which are driving the American "soap opera" to its grave; OLTL and ATWT being canceled, etc.

go Chas I say, she might be a little late and too much but Aaron needs too much now. Don't let him get back in closet now folks!!!! Maybe Chas was not a great mother, but now it is her chance to be the one person that doesn't let go and force Aaron to do the right thing and accept himself!
I know it's not a popular opinion but I like Chaz. I can see where Aaron gets his stubborn hardass-ness from and unlike a lot fo people I really do think she cares. It's showing it that seems to be the mucky part.
They all... well some of them want to help him but do they really think asking him over and over gonna make things better? He wouldn't talk before but now that he's clearly troubled they'll pester same as usual.
Ok, so a very scary thought went through my head....
I could almost see them setting this up for him to try and go to some crack-pot "repairative therapy" program. God I hope not! I know it's a crazy way to take a storyline, but who knows.
My more rational side tells me they will make this an upbeat resolution.....as upbeat as it can be, that is.

@Sixu83 Ha ha ha. You know, I was contemplating saying something to the effect of "maybe that's just some crazy idea only us yanks think of....", but I thought it might be incorrect. Apparently not!
@crestedcall @crestedcall Emmerdale (and every other UK/German/other "Euro" soap) has had its share of outlandish, sudsy plotlines. The writing and acting are just generally superior to American daytime because the vast majority of the talent in the US goes into the massive primetime/cable/movie markets. Aaron's story has been a standout by any metric, obviously. Also, not to be cheeky but your placing of soap opera within quotes is a tad precious.
I want Aaron and Adam to hook up. They make the perfect couple. I think Adam really has feelings for Adam but just do not want to say so.

Ew is hate carl. Annoying as hell. I understand where aaron is coming from but i hope he lightens up and lets chas back in his life. Chas may not deserve it but still.

@velocity246 yeah, and get a clue and seek the help of a professional.....possibly with a strong dose of sedatives. She's flippin' crazy herself. Guy just needs some space, to not be moll-coddled and she's smothering him.
