that panic attack was so well depicted, mild ones are like that. soaps tend to make a dramatic deal of them, but they really do become mundane like that
"Attention s... sorry, so not utter desperation and an inability to see through a terrible time in your life? Welcome to a private conversation, by the way." I love Marlon, and I thought his reaction and subsequent lines were hysterical. By the way, I love this storyline. It's one of the most honest potrayals of someone who violently hates themselves and their sexuality that I've ever seen. And sometimes it's hard to watch, but that's what makes it great. Kudos to Danny Miller and Emmerdale!
That was just so brilliant of the writers adding in Panic Attacks for Aaron's storyline. And amazing work by Paddy being able to talk him down, this exactly how you are suppose to do it. Have them look at you and breathe for them.
Aaron wants SO BAD to love his mom, but she has let him down so much in the past- that he has built a wall around his heart. The wall shook a little when he smiled at her.
The only thing that Chas can do for him is what she actually did, to say that he can talk to her WHENEVER he's ready, and that she is there for him. Adam sure puts a smile on his face, and now so does Chas!
Apparently, the ONLY one who gets it is Aaron - "... in a situation like this. Have you ever been in a situation like this ..." I can tell you from experience, having tried to off myself 3 times, Aaron IS the only one to get it. And he's the ONLY one that can help himself. Since he was released from the hospital, the doctors obviously found no psychological reason to keep him. Family, friends, lovers, whatever - no matter how well meaning, need to leave him alone or they will drive him away
wow I am canadian and watch eastenders also through youtube but I thing the person playing aaron did a winnig performance on this show. i think he did an amazing job showing what gays go through. I feel bad they did not win any big awards. the emotions hear have been the best
1:28. I can't tell of Aaron is watching Adam or Chas. Seems to that Aaron is still longing for Adam. They way his whole bady language changes when Adam is around. It's so refreshing to see Aaron smile instead of glowering all the time. Very nice acting from Billy.
Fun to see Paddy be sarcastic with the lady in the pub. As for Chas moving back in with Paddy & Aaron, I don't feel the way I thought I would--angry or worried. Instead, I feel sort of numb. Aaron seems to be taking her presence pretty well, all things considered. Maybe he's beginning to feel numb, too. I can't tell from this episode where the story is going.
@HigherC Yeah, maybe Aaron is beginning to get the idea that Chas wants to help, even if she doesn't know how. I kind of liked her alarm and calling for Paddy, when Aaron started having a panic attack or whatever it was. She knew she didn't know what to do and called for Paddy's help--an admission that she couldn't run the show.
@dutchnukelover all soaps r over the top , thats why they're soaps... but also depends on where theyre set usually not too much happens in a small village surrounded by farm land....i love em all speaking of which i was getting into this one Dutch one set in Amsterdam with a tall dutch boy and an Palestinian diplomat but i can't find any video on it anymore it was on earlier this year i believe... does it sound familiar and is it still on??
@kudo451 Didn't say he shouldn't have friends or family. Said, he has to make the decision to LIVE on his own - just like an alcohol has to do it on his own. He can have all the support groups, friends and family - but to decide to live is his and his alone. And for that, unless HE wants someone in his life - is his decision. Not a pressured acceptance or being boxed into a corner.
@adgp Yes the camera work is great. Now that i am reading some other comments I might make a small leap by saying that Aaron is longing for a relationship with both his mom and Adam. Moms are supposed to stick by you through thick and thin and I think he just testing that boundaries with his "attitude" towards his mom.
@Mighthore You're right, of course. Calm can be good--and consistent with the show's realistic, slow pace. Only I'm dangling off a cliff on a string waiting and hoping for Aaron to know we love him and he's okay just as he is (being gay, I mean). Still things keep happening. Maybe Paddy will get so good at being sarcastic that people will stop asking and guessing, editorializing and bugging him. Well, no, it's Emmerdale, where everyone's business is everyone's business. Sigh.

"I am openminded!!"
- "Well try being close-mouthed."

Karl, "You're moving back in with your ex. What's not to like?" lol. Karl has some funny lines sometimes.

Aaron wants SO BAD to love his mom, but she has let him down so much in the past- that he has built a wall around his heart. The wall shook a little when he smiled at her.
"Just breathe!"
"Thats a good idea, idiot."
LOL

aaron looked especially beautiful today
Try being close mouthed. Honestly when he said that I was laughing so hard.

Well bless her she's trying.
"What was he looking it for?" That doesn't make sense lol but I understand what he means. I love Aaron :-) , x
Chas is trying so hard for Aaron.

honestly Chas and Adam rock right now!! Paddy's sweet but overdoes it most of times. So go Chas, go Adam!!
I am open-minded.
Well try being close-mouthed!
Priceless!

I'd rather have the carrots. I don't care much for asparagus.
I´m sorry, did Chas and Paddy had a relationship once? .... HOW?
@Mighthore You're right, of course. Calm can be good--and consistent with the show's realistic, slow pace. Only I'm dangling off a cliff on a string waiting and hoping for Aaron to know we love him and he's okay just as he is (being gay, I mean).

Aaron will hate Chas moving back in

I'll pack it in when you tell her where to go
He's talking about him getting a new door for the garage.
