That'a a huge improvement from the 90 min builds, you didnt disappoint. I would just like to point out that the water needs some work. You could also diversify the terrain techniques. Still a very good diorama, I'm looking forward to the next part.
Agreed a good technique for water is tiling it off with trans blue tiles to creat better water but the builds are getting better and you can tell he takes his time on the videos and builds and I recommend brickarms for weapons and helmets
Yeah feels like I've actually entered the somewhat competant builders division lol. Certainly got a lot to work on and need a lot more bricks.. but it's a start
15:18 first of all that looks amazing. I could see that at a convention. my only critique that there's not much detail in the water. but that's it otherwise it looks amazing.
Really good build but just two thing: 1. Too much vegetation (TBH looks like a jungle) 2. Plants don't grow on stone All in all really good build (certifies master builder).
1. agree - i also didnt use enough dark green or brown so it all looked a bit over saturated 2. partially agree - quite a few plants do grow out of rocks or tiny bits of grass on rocks, but i didn't blend it well enough in this video
This build came out great! Although, I'd disagree with your decision on the trenches. It looked much better with dirt in my opinion. The bunkers are really good though. All super accurate.
hey scot just a building tip: to save on some money, instead of using expensive grey parts or just parts that could be used elsewhere, try purchasing "filler brick" in other words lego bricks that are dirt cheap due to their colors like blue, yellow, red etc those colored bricks are really cheap and lots of pro builders tend to use them for filler brick, in this case you couldve used some filler brick under the bunker were you placed all those grey pillars, and also some to make your beach more elevated than just flat looking. for water I suggest going with transparent light blue studs! GREAT VID!
I think the foliage really makes it top notch, that's a lot of detail and it looks great! Also good use of those cheese slope pieces, they can add a ton of detail and depth!
I tried using slope pieces but i didnt have enough to do the whole thing yet so it just looks a bit off. Also thanks man, the foliage was decent but i think a bit more dark green and brown on the ground would make it look a bit more realistic
Lego can be expensive, so I'm glad you took the time and money for this video scroger. Also, I could maybe recommend using some transparent blue pieces in the water, to maybe simulate waves/reflectance.
glad you're enjoying it - also very good feedback about the water sadly i just dont have enough pieces to have a 2nd layer yet, which is what I think you need to use those bit?
I know what you can do you can put down the brown bricks and then you can put some wood bricks over the brown bricks to make it look like an actual trench
this was a pretty dope video please make more ww2 mocs. Its always so satisfying to me watch someone get better and better at building and that your limited with the bricks you have. makes it interesting with the creativity you have
What is suggest for the sea in the future would be to use see through light blue studs. It gives off a more watery effect which would make this build look 10x better then it already is! The build is really good though Scot!
Yeah honestly the beach needs blending in better. The bottom of the beach was completely flat and really uninteresting.. needs work but i can't afford the bricks yet ahahah
I’m finally building a Lego Star Wars battle scene and just for me and I just now at 29 got money to do it and after I finish it I’m going to work in a ww2 battle next
This was an amazing build dude. Great little display piece. U should see if you can get a Sherman or Hobbarts Funny tank on there as well, like a crab or dd tank. Can't wait for more builds
Bruv there is a bipod on that MG42 for a reason, mate. Maybe that German machine-gunner just has infinite ammo and doesn't need to let go of that gun to reload.
He needs to do a lego roman battle scene i think that would look awesome. Just imagine the roman cavalry with their bows and swords charging at the enemy on horse back.
The thing is, building with Lego for me is very easy, and I can build really good builds if I actually had the right colours and amount of Lego. It just takes a lot of imagination, thinking, patience and time. But for me in this case is very fast thinking and I can just pick out the right blocks without thinking. Just something I've been doing since I was 8 (15 now) NICE VIDEO 👍
Not bad at all. The two things I would point out that need help are the water with some waves and tiles and such. Also, dark tan as the water hits the beach. One other thing would be that I would have liked to see the muddy brown in the trenches. Not the whole thing but maybe in the center and sporadic.
Agree.. just dont have enough bricks sadly. Literalyl ran out of grey plates for higgins landing craft and didnt have enough blues for texture on water
Good idea you could’ve done is add little circle things I forgot what they are called on the beach and on the water to make it look like blood, and to make it look like the water is bubbly
I love Lego and also WW2 and I wish I could build this type of stuff, thanks for making me think of trying to do this you are a big inspiration and the build was awesome I would love to see more soldiers and vehicles.
Really good build, I will say I preferred the brown but with the barrels on thing it’s fine I just like it now being all gray. But I feel there may have been too much foliage and it looks more pacific jungle and less European field Also raid sponsor noice but sussy Scot
also for pilers to hold up inclines in the build if you can’t see them from the veaw of the build use windo or door panels and random bricks and only use grey whear it’s visible so it saves you those parts and can make the builds a tiny bit less expensive probably
I think it would have looked good if you had used small brown plates to put in the trench to make it look more dirty and rugged. Which is how it would had been in the real trenches
Scots plastic/plastic Scott this is a fabulous build.sadly I don’t German and American lego figures. Also you said fg-44 when it’s actually called fg-42😂❤
Hey Scot! 🏴 As I am a Scottish Lego Animator I would like to give ya some feedback about ur builds! Right so on the beach I would reccomend more details on the sand and the main rocks, also I would reccomend more death/blood in ur build maybe some studs and stuff but other than that it is an Fabulous Moc!
Hey scot try making a moc out of all Lego pieces no know offs or custom figs for some helmets use atat pilot commander helmets and toy soldier toy story helmet
I think you shouldnt add too much vegetation you should add like 4 trees also for the empty bunker since you dont have enough minifigure use the fg42 guy in the bunker also there shouldnt be any vegetation on beach like on the sand but i do like how you put the rocks and for detail other than that i think its good i give it about 8.7/10 for a beginner its pretty good
I feel like you should put the anti tank and air down put a guy in that one bunker put some landing craft put some people running out of it,and possibly add some downed or wounded soldiers.
Wow man! Great build. You are improving so much! Awesome bunker design! I used one from battle brick which is a custom site in a ww2 moc I made on my channel and it looks great!
If you make another d-day beach, take into the account that on most of the battlefields, specifically Omaha beach, there were no slopes or hills to climb. The entire shorelines were just Water-->Long beach-->Cliffs with no slopes. The soldiers had to use ropes and raise up their weapons and injured to get up the cliffs. Everything else is spot-on and perfect! Except for the vegetation which looks too jungle-ish. Try to make the vegetation more grass like instead of plants and stuff. Try not to add too many trees and if you are going to add any i suggest an oak tree. Of course its all up to you but im just giving tips.

If you are running out of bricks and need support, I recommend to use Duplo and bricks that you don’t need as fillers.
15:18 first of all that looks amazing. I could see that at a convention. my only critique that there's not much detail in the water. but that's it otherwise it looks amazing.
yeah very true.. i dont have enough bricks yet to properly texture water! Something for me to work on i guess

YES FINALLY!
My building needs to be faster lol
It's sure fun people bringing back lego popularity
You should make custom boats so the water part is less empty

@@ScotsPlastic You shouldve left some brown plates or smt in the trenches
I would have you look at Cobi for WW2 vehicles. Not a cheap knockoff but rather a different brand of brick. Amazing vehicle builds.
Yeah they are, will try and do any vehicles builds with legit lego from now on tho
@@ScotsPlastic You could make a Brecourt Manor moc for the next build. Use scenes from Band of Brothers for reference.
Perhaps a bit of brown to represent wooden planks, as well as on the sides of the trench wall.
That build looked pretty dang good for being a build of that scale
yeah i crammed in a decent bit of detail seeing as it's not a huge scale
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH
I know what you can do you can put down the brown bricks and then you can put some wood bricks over the brown bricks to make it look like an actual trench
This D-day build looks awesome keep doing this!

this was a pretty dope video please make more ww2 mocs. Its always so satisfying to me watch someone get better and better at building and that your limited with the bricks you have. makes it interesting with the creativity you have
i have so many more ideas for ww2 don't worry.. just not sure which one to try first

only took me 6 videos to actually finish a build LOL
Wow! I could never even imagine building something with such detail! Especially in less than an hour! Great job!

some recommendations i have are: way too much foilage, germans didn't use on beach defences, and a seawall
agree on the vegetation, but for the defences it was mostly just to make the build look more interesting rather than a real representation
@@ScotsPlastic i get that

There is a 2x2 corner slope pice and it’s in light blueish gray that would work perfectly for the corner of that large bunker
yeah i need more rounded pieces for the bunkers in general. My light bluish grey brick collection is sorely lacking
Absolutely awesome love it! 😎
That looks so good!
Actually the trenches in D-Day the bottom of the trench were dirt so the drown bricks would be more accurate.
