Thanks for narrating the story. But please allow me to clarify some inaccuracies, specially about the arrest of Mr Nagmani. I was then the District Magistrate of Patna. The investigation was being supervised by Shri Mishra, IPS, who was then the DIG of Police, heading the Crime Branch of the CID. He had decided to arrest Mr Nagmani, and had informed the then Chief Secretary, Mr K Abraham. The Cheif Secretary had informed me about the imminent arrest, and had advised me to make all required arrangements, and to ensure that he is treated with due dignity in [then] Bankipore Central prison. Mr Nagmani was then the Commissioner of Tirhut Division, with headquarters at Muzaffarpur. It is believed that the meeting of all Divisional Commissioners was called by the Chief Secretary to save Mr Nagmani from the humiliation of being arrested at a place in his prestigious office or residence, in presence of his subordinates. After the meeting was over, the Chief Secretary advised Mr Nagamani to meet Mr Mishra, and told him that Mr Mishra wanted t meet him to discuss some matters. Mr Nagmani met Mr Mishra in Mr Mishra's office chamber, where Mr Mishra told him that he is being arrested. Mr Nagmani was always treated with dignity, he was never sent to any Police Station or to any Court, and was straightaway admitted into [the then] Bankipore Central Prison and housed in a VIP cell with all comforts due to a VIP prisoner. Then Judiciary had not been separated from the Executive fully, and I had detained the then Subdivisional Magistrate of Patna Sadar Shri Nagendra Tiwary after office hours, who visited Mr Nagmani in his cell, around 8 PM, and recorded in the Order Sheet that Mr Nagamani was produced in his Court by the Police and he was remanded to custody of the prison, from where he would be transferred on the following day to Barh and to be produced before the Subdivisional Magistrate of Barh, also in Patna District, where the dead body was discovered. The Subdivisional Magistrate of Barh remanded him to the custody of Barh sub-jail, and later committed Mr Nagmani to Sessions Trial, by the District and Sessions Judge of Patna, who ordered his re-transfer to [the then] Bankipore Central Jail, where he remained in his VIP cell till he was bailed out by the Hon'ble Patna High Court. I have no other comment on this matter.

I had requested for this story in 1975 we have travelled along with the Nagamani guy and his son in our compartment my father told us he is Nagamani IAS he had killed his wife son was silently crying through out the journey.

Yes it should be opened I agree. But those photographs would have been destroyed immediately after aquital of Mr Nagmani.. to get rid of all whole and more so after 25 years.. as law permits..
Mishra ji was the main accused with his bahubali chela behind all this.. He designed a way to balance the cheques with Mr. Nagmani and deliberately planted the foto graphs of top one there, not to speak and pressurised the then CM to resign, and put pressure on Govn. also..
This was a check mate to both.. with balance of cheques with Mr. Nagmani.
But nagmani is allready 95 yrs old😢
