This video just changed my life!!! I used to have two options, either a) 6 hours of air-drying where I try to not move too much and disrupt my curls or b) 1 hour of diffusing that resulted in frizzy and lackluster curls. I just dried my hair in 20 min! (Not quite 10 min, but who would expect that when it's almost freezing outside and 90% humidity?) And it looks AMAZING! Thank you so much for this fantastic video. You've just changed my hair from the bane of my existence to something I'm really excited about! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
That's amazing! Thanks so much for comment! I'm so glad I was able to help! I love diffusing my hair now! I dont think I can go back to those longgg days spent with wet hair! 🙌🏽
Its so nice to see someone with long hair! Not the same " curly girl" haircut!
True..bc most of them have short and I have really long hair so ya
Ikr i have long hair too
I can't find any with curly girl cuts 😔
@@skye3853 mine reaches my hips and is very curly. it's a pain to maintain but i love my hair lol
Most "curly girl" haircut isn't really a haircut it is like that because their hair won't grow any longer than what it is
I tried this technique last night and it worked so well!!! Thank you so much. My curls were define with no frizz. I guess I’ve been using the diffuser wrong this whole time.
I LOVEEEE Manes by Mell! Her tips helped me out so much when it came to diffusing. It's so nice to see your take on it, your results are SOOO beautiful
Sameeee
I def need to try different diffusing techniques. I’ve been doing just one. Plus I want to try other diffusers too. I only use the black orchid.
1. Leave in conditioner
2. Enhancing curl gel
3. Oil
just noting! ((:
I don't know if the problem is in the diffuser that I use, but my hair always ends up looking frizzy. even though I try to start with the roots, use cool or low heat and keep the diffuser 3 inches away from my hair. still my air dry result looks and feels way better. it really sucks cuz sometimes I can't wait for 3 hours!
Same thing happens with me but now what i do is i air dry for like 1 or 2 hours depending on the weather conditions wait it to get almost 60-70% dry And then diffuse.. it works! There is less frizz i won't say i don't get frizz i get a little bit of frizz but that also gives quite a nice volume ... So give it a try
Same thing! I think I am diffusing wrong I use low heat???
@@insherahsaleem yeah I heard people recommend letting the hair dry a little bit before diffusing, but I feel like what's the point of owning a diffuser if I can't use it right away when I don't have time to wait! thnx anyway :)
Sometime you dont use enough gel and/or mousse before you diffuser your hair wont make a cast and instead of your curl holding it will separate a little and cause frizz. If you are worried about to much of a cast/crunchy you can always scrunch your hair after you diffuse just make sure your hand are clean and dry when you scrunch because that can also cause frizz.
@@lomilosian i have dense hair even in Summers( i live in india here summers are sooo hot) my hair takes almost 4 hours to dry ... But that's only max 90% dry ... It's difficult to stay like that ... Also doesn't matter how much i put gel or i don't put gel diffusing without air drying takes 2hours and still my hair is not 100% dry ... It's exhausting and my hands hurts... So when i combine these two methods air drying and then diffusing it works and i still get that extra curly definition because of the diffuser
Actual tutorial starts here: 7:55
Fantastic! I all about gave up on using my diffuser after several failed attempts but I decided to give it 1 more try I used your tips today & success! Thanks so much!
I'm definitely going to try this in the morning! Thank you 😊 Usually for a good hair day, I wash my hair the night before, add my hair products, use the Denman brush, let it dry and then go to bed and while I sleep, my hair gets volume and fluff out and then I add little touch ups the next day. If I do it the day of, then my hair would look too stringy like I would have the "fresh out of the shower look" all day (I have thin curly hair so it takes a long time for my hair to get volume which is why the sleeping in it helps using satin pillow case to fluff up without causing frizz)
“No Frizz”?!! Girl I don’t think that would work for me...but love you btw❤️
It might help! ❤️
Your hair is GORGEOUS 😍 I spend so much time straightening my hair, I wish I could get my curls to look like yours. They look good wet but then when they air dry as the day goes on, my hair gets wider and wider 😂😩 I am going to get a diffuser and some new products and try this. I’m excited now, yay! Thank you for this video!
Good products and an even better application of them will help with the frizz!
Give it a go?
@@Burnthestigma420 add moisture, hold and seal. It will help a lot.
The last bit of your description had me going awwwww CUTIE
Thank you so much for showing me how to diffuse my hair! I’ve been diffusing incorrectly this whole time and my hair has been very frizzy I’m going to try this method tomorrow! ❤❤
ahhh this was so helpful for my hair, i just started diffusing my hair and i’m obsessed with my curls now
Gurl ur white…..
@@katyalzeltner310 umm since when could white girls not have curly hair
White girls got curly hair too. What are you 5?

Manes by Mell dudeee love her I'm totally subscribed 2 her😍😍🙏
I just got a diffuser for christmas this was really helpful thanksss😁😁😁
I hope my hair gets to your length
Finally someone with my hair type. I need to know which products to use.
This is the first time that I'm this early love you so much
Thank you so much for being here early!
I didn't know you could apply the oil right after the gel, before diffusing, or getting a dried cast.😮 I have a wavy 2b/c type medium texture. I'm going to try these methods. Thanks! ❤
Thanks for this video I had really been struggling with diffusing. I was doing it upside down and when I was drying one part of my hair the hair hanging down was getting caught in the back of my hair dryer each time. I have waist length hair so it's too easily done. Now I can try doing it upright and hopefully this won't happen.
Okay so the dyson is really amazing 😉 it’ actually has really great benefits for your hair! Expensive but worth buying
I was wondering if it was worth the investment for my hair!
Love, love love my Dyson hair drier. It's worth every penny. I've always had thick but fine, fragile hair. No matter what I did I had a fuzzy head from breakage. I would have to flatiron after blow drying and my hair never looked healthy. Almost immediately after I got my Dyson my hair started to dramatically look less fuzzy. Within a month I quit using a flat iron. I never would have believed a hair dryer would make such a difference. I'll be honest, I balked at the price, but my hubby talked me into it....... no regrets........sorry to sound like a commercial. Lol
@@Jadeserphant using the flat iron is what damaged your hair making it frizzy
@@RED-my9hl Absolutely. Plus I'm a natural redhead, with fine hair......thick but fine and I haven't always taken the best care of it. But my dyson hair drier has made a remarkable difference in my hair from the first time I used it. I was stunned. I thought all driers were basically the same. I'm not up on the science of why, and I don't usually comment on products, but I'm glad I got it. I haven't used a flat iron since, and my hair is substantially less frizzy. Lol.
Binge watching your vids. I'm in love with your hair!!!
Hi Lana, thanks for liking my comment. How do you keep your curls moisturized on non wash days? I rinse my hair everyday, but my hair still gets super dry fast whether I use leave in conditioner or not.
Absolutely love Lana’s channel! Have been watching her videos for so long now! I just started my own channel now because of her 💕
Omg, I am jealous. I have medium to low porosity 2B/2C hair and it can take me a whole day to air dry it (sometimes it's not even fully dry). If I am diffusing it takes me 30minutes straight with having diffuser as close to my hair as possible lol I tried this method once and it took me around hour to have my hair about 70% dry :(
I have a similar problem, even worse than yours. It takes me 40 minutes (I usually quit at 15-20 min and air dry the rest wearing scarfs and towels to protect my neck) to complete diffuse dry my hair in the winter and around 15-20 minutes in summer. I always use the highest heat and air settings. I already do the hovering method that she showed as I feel it is faster than the cupping method and you also keep length. In another video (one trying Onision's suggestions) she needed oven 1 hour to diffuse with a regular hair dryer (GhD air I think). I think the key in her method is using a dyson. It's extremely expensive but it is fast. That's why it takes her only 10 minutes.
Hey Pamela, since we seem to have similar hair I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions about styling. I'm new to the curly routine and I'd really appreciate some help!
Great results! I'm going to try this next!
Just a suggestion - if you plop before or whatever your method you won't ring out and waste product. If you do it after you're just wasting/ squeezing out product you need.
I feel like when I use microfiber towel/ cotton t shirt to squeeze the excess water, the products that I put in my hair just disappear:(
Love the routine btw!
Lama same
that's what I was thinking!
What I like to do is after I squeeze super hard with my microfiber towel and it has that nice damp feeling, I go in with a little more styler (gel, curling cream, custard etc.) and just put a small layer without sectioning and just cover my hair w it. It works pretty well for me, maybe you should try that! (I have 3b-3c hair btw)
Manes by Mell said to just plop for 10 minutes and then take it out as then it won't soak up your product, if that helps
I loved your tips! I would love to also see a tutorial on your makeup 💄it's so beautiful!
I learned that your hair is gorgeous. Drop dead gorgeous. Also to do roots first, so thanks. 👍
You're so gorgeous! ❤ I love your hair and your accent 🤗 thank you for helping me improve my diffusing skills😉❤
I watched her tutorial too. I think I need help with the styling. I raked the products in and use a wide tooth comb. I do to do more scrunching.
How do you keep your hair from getting sucked in from the back end - burning & tangling it inside the hair dryer? It keeps sucking in my hair & destroying it 💔 it was so damaged I had to chop my hair from waist length to shoulder length 😩
I have my literal DREAM hair!!
The show must go on! 👌🏾
My hair never always goes frizzy The next day even when I refresh I have 3b hair
I love your curls, You have beautiful hair.
Love this video, I have similar curls and this method has always worked best for me too 🙌🏽❤️
Love you Lana. PS : i'am from Algeria 😍
That's awesome! Sending my love to Algeria!
Thank you for your explanation! It is appreciated.
Gosh I went to a hairdresser this week. She put leave in conditioner and mousse and gel. She then use the denman brush but she took much smaller sections almost doing it curl by curl. Then she diffused. My only sadness is that my hair was as long as yours and now it's up to my chin. I want to cry.
I notice this hovering method is different from the one where you place your hair directly into the diffuser. This method looks easier and faster. As a guy with long curly hair I don't have time before work to be diffusing forever.
💀 I’m trying to fix my curls because I’m the only person who has curls in my family whom has straight hair
@Angel'lina Cabell 😂😂😂
omg me too only my grandpa had curly hair
I know I'm the only one and its fun💀 ish
While I'm not the only one with curly hair, mine is definitely the most pronounced. My mom destroyed hers so they are never coming back and my sister only has type 1/2 waves so it's wayyyy different than my type 3 curls
@Angel'lina Cabell I think my dads great great grandparents had curly hair or something.... I’m half German and Filipino so-
Great video. Will be trying your technique. Question: what Denman brush should I be looking for?
Any of them should be good as it's more about the technique 👌
I am new to your channel but thank you soo much your videos it's really helped me and now my hair is looking good and I can see the growth in my hair thank you so much Lana
does diffusing cause heat, breakage, or make your hair damaged?
What if you use the towel to get most of the water out then add the products to your hair, in that way the products are not diluted with the water. Pease try that way and see if the results are better.
Beautiful hair
Thanks
How does this affect shrinkage? Was your regular shrinkage minimized at all?
Hi I love your videos so much they really help me
Thank you so much I have curly hair and I used the diffuser last night and all I had was frizzy hair I was about to return it but now I don’t have to
This helped so much!TYSM!❤️
I have a heat protecting spray that is cgm, I was surprised to find it. Only recently have I used one during diffusing.
Which towel did u use Nd bought from where
Thank you!!! I’ve been looking for a diffusing video w the dyson (that i recently just bought) on someone with ACTUAL curly hair! Not waves they try to make curly🙄 I’ve been watching yourself videos for a few years now bc we have the same curl type! Much love!!
I use shea butter as heat protectant sometimes but I have 4B hair so it’s a bit different
What temperature for curly hair for diffuser ? Is it High Hot or High Warm
The cooler the better 😊 She said in the video that she doesn't do high heat, only low so it's warm but not hot
Hi I’m trying to learn how to take care of my curly hair cause some of my bangs are kind of dead, would using heat for the diffuser damage my hair or would it be better if I use the cold tempeture?
Cool to warm temperature is the best for reducing heat damage. Using the highest setting can cause heat damage over time.
So so so love your hair
I'm commenting on the first day of a video!!
Thank you sooooooo much I’m going try this rn. Love ur vids

This is so helpful
BTS on her phone case 😍😍😍 i love seeing other Army’s of color because it just shows how the cultural barrier is torn down
I just started doing my curls and taking care of them, this was very helpful
LOVE this video. Great technique, even _better_ hair.
Stunning results, although as I said I'm sure it helps that you seemingly have stunning hair to begin with!
ps going outside with wet hair can in no way cause you to become ill; viruses and bacteria cause those illnesses of which you're thinking-not shivers from wet hair. ;)
I want my hair smooth like yours 😍😍😍😍😍😍
i learned a lot! Everything made perfect sense, thank you!
There are different techniques. To set the curl you make sure hair is drenched wet and add leave in conditioner comb through then lay hair in the dish and dry on low or medium. It will make hair more voluminous. Professional hair stylist lay the hair on the dish of diffuser .
The technique you describe is the correct one. Otherwise you may as well sit outside in the wind and air dry after using the towel to remove the product you just put in.
does the denman brush just not work for anyone else? no matter how i use it, it just makes my hair frizzy
Add more product
I'm not first, but I'm early!
Hey
Where can one get the only curls . I heard u say it’s made in Uk. An I just moved to Uk myself in February this yr .
Hi, you can get them on onlycurls .com and naturalisticproducts .co .uk :)
Love mane by mels 😊and youuu
Love from Chicago!!!
Can anyone recommend a cold air hair dryer, which isn’t too costly?
Lmao my issue is that I have hair so long that it reaches my butt, and when I try to diffuse it some strands get caught up behind the dryer that sucks the air in and it literally pulls out my hairs
Been looking through the comments and yessss, found someone who deals with the same issue. Frizz aside, i'd be busy pausing just to yank the strands out 😭😂
Trim your hair? Lol
@@depressedbaddie5337 Don’t be rude? Lol
why when i diffuse my hair it gets straight and the volume goes away?
thank you so much for showing me how to properly diffuse my hair! also, i love your phone case! this was a sign. 💜
Why do you not like shrinkage? I want shrinkage. How do I get more shrinkage ? I’m wavy. Not curly
First ❤❤❤
just tried diffusing my hair on the highest heat and highest force... that’s why it looks so frizzy LOL
is it bad to air dry my curly hair?
No, it's the safest method of drying hair. Most hair stylists suggest doing that. However, not all people can do this, due to time constrains, weather and even chronic conditions (I cannot air dry even in summer as wet hair trigger extreme muscle pain). Just make sure, you don't wash your hair every day as daily air drying may cause water fatigue (check Manes by Mell who show this in one of her videos) and do not sleep with wet hair as it is more fragile and may snap when you sleep.
lana summer summer timeeee
I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷 lovely Lana, I love your videos and you are gorgeous..😘
What if I’m scared of getting heat damage from the heat
You will not!
Because you don't blow dry or flat iron!
And she use low heat
So you don't scrunch ?
Which oil is it?
😚Your Beautiful self😚
😍MakeuP so cute😍
Happy Lovely Week as well

Hi, where’s your top from haha
Had no clue what if was ty
love from Kenya
i don’t know why, but the brush has never worked for me, it’s just made my hair straight when i tried it.
anyone have recommendations for a good, non-expensive hair drier?
Revlon Fast Style & Shine Infrared hair dryer is decent and doesn't cost a lot at all
def Revlon, I use the lift body and volume volume booster hair dryer
Sometimes I think 🤔,there isn’t enough time in the day for me to do so much around the house ,like where is the time going !!! I turn around and look in the mirror to finish doing my curly hair get frustrated cuz it’s gonna take for it to dry 1 hr or 2 and I PAUSE AND SAY ,,,,well duh my hair ,,,,I wish it would dry FASTER LIKE IN 20 mnts tops.
Multiply that time by 4 for thick, curly, course hair and you have a winner.
FIRST!
darnn lol
ALMOST!! ❤️❤️
Oh I definitely been difusing my hair the wrong way😭
When did she actually diffuse and shape the curl ??? She could’ve used it without the diffuser since she didn’t use it anyway
