Japanese Tit Mom's Tough Decision: Giving Up on Seven Eggs

- Nest Box Observation 2024 ep.19 (May 22-24, 2024) - Capturing life in Nest Box 1, home to a family of Japanese Tits. This episode covers days 42-44 of the observation and days 11-13 since the eggs hatched.
The heartwarming sight of the mother bird and her chick snuggling their cheeks together is a highlight. However, this tender moment only lasted until the 13th day after hatching. In the mornings, they were still sleeping together, but after feeding, the mother bird would leave the nest box, and on that night, she didn't return to sleep with them...
What will become of the remaining eggs? It's concerning, thinking about potential rot or other issues. But with the chicks expected to fledge in just one week, perhaps the parents have decided to focus on the hatched chicks and power through.

いよいよぼっちで寝る事になったけど後少しで巣立ち。
野鳥の世界も色んなドラマがあるね😔
１羽だと淋しそうな感じもするけど…両親を独り占め最高！って思うしかない。
お母さん側も２週間経過して孵化してたら困るし諦めてくれて良かったかな。たぶん無精卵なのでしょうね。卵の中を見てみたい気もする。
愛情一杯もらって元気に育って巣立ちを迎えてもらいたい！！

雛一羽ぼっちの夜は見ていてちょっと寂しそうですね。きょうだいと温め合えなくて寒くないかな、と思いましたが5月下旬ならもう十分暖かいのかな。頑張れ頑張れ😊
昼間は両親のお世話を全て受ける程構ってもらっているのに、たった一羽きりで過ごす夜はさぞかし心細いことでしょう。
ワンオペの時でさえ二羽いましたからね。

初めての巣箱を庭の小鳥食堂の縁側につけたら、四十雀カップルが来てくれました。
卵確認から３２日め雛の声します、巣立ちまで縁側立入禁止です。
カメラ無いのでもどかしい、
去年は雨樋に沢山の巣立ち雛を見ました近くに巣があった？
あと二か所かけましたが入居状況わかりません。
