myrtillocactus seem invincible to me, i really like them as a rootstock. very strong roots. harrisia jusbertii has not been as good to me however. I dont think they are as resilient. I have avoided floppy rootstocks like selenicereus and pereskiopsis but you seem to have good success with them :) maybe ill give them a shot🌵🌵

@@SUPERSUDS Myrtillo, hands down is the best for Astrophytum. Harrisia I only like it for ariocarpus. Acantho is my cheap but hardy stock replacement for dragon fruit. And yeah!! give them a shot, I think whenever the weather gets better I’m going to cut them and turn them into short grafts.

Why didn't you try grafting on Opuntia as a rootstock?

@@محمدالسوداني-ي9ز8ي honestly the vascular ring is way to big for what I need it for. But other then that I see no problem using it. I’ve only used it for grafting outdoor landscape cacti.

Nice overview on your collection, always a pain to wait for the kikko genetics to show 🫠 I used to like own roots way more for my collection, now i also use some grafts to but only for my seedlings. Unfortunately I just can grow inside, at my windowsill and under growlights

I love the look of hard grown Astrophytum, but we are all mortal and time is always a problem. I kept a lot of my plants the same way a couple a years ago.
