    As a harmonica player, hearing you bend that until it breaks is AWESOME!!! Those are harp tones! All of a sudden I need an accordion!

      I'm also shocked with the bending ability of the accordion. This thing really is very closely related to the harmonica. They are cousins.

    Best demo and explanation I have ever seen on this. I thank Dave Magliozzi (posted on Facebook-Accordion Friends) for referring me.

    your videos are easily the best accordion tutorials on RUclips, that rhythm one really helped. please do a video on left hand chord combinations and techniques to make the left sound more jazzy as a standalone.

      It's been on my list for a while. Thinking I might have to do two and just need to find the time. Some time this year for sure.

    Thank you for this and your rhythm and flat five videos! Very helpful for an experienced musician who's a newbie to playing jazz on the accordion. It's such a wonderful jazz instrument. Looking forward to more vids when you're able!

    This is an amazing video - i want an accordian. I am used to a French harmonium where flat notes means an out of tune reed or bad winding.

    Can't do this on my Roland!🧐 I've played accordion for over 60 yrs and never seen this before.

    That's... amazing!
    Unfortunately my accordion keys don't have that "edge" you use to get a hold of them. They kinda curve down, preventing me from efficiently nudging.
    Any tips on that?
    Thanks for sharing!

      Well you're right . It's harder but doable. I've done it with capped keys pressing on the front of the key . It's harder.

    does accordion pitch bend affect the original tuning in the long term?

    • @deedpartle
      @deedpartle  7 лет назад

      I've been doing it for years and have not had a problem. I do get my accordion tuned every few years but it doesn't seem to need any more care than any accordion that gets a lot of use.

    It's easy to do on a melodica but on a button accordion this is very hard.

  • @guidemeChrist
    @guidemeChrist 8 лет назад +1

    is there a way to achieve this with a button accordion?

    • @olliewalker6406
      @olliewalker6406 7 лет назад

      Uselube I was wondering the same. I want to play blues concertina, and adding a warbling bend like that would add a great blues sound.

    • @guidemeChrist
      @guidemeChrist 7 лет назад +1

      yeah i figured it out. you just press the button really lightly. the finger under the button trick works obviously only on the outermost row

    • @deedpartle
      @deedpartle  7 лет назад

      I see you already found the answer. But yes I've seen several European player do this . With the button you have less control though I believe, because there is no easy support to keep the depression constant. So doing controlled bends of a half step would be harder. Probably some clever player has aced it though.
