The main strength of Premam is the very different realistic storytelling from Alphonse Puthran. The commercialisation of the Telugu version is where it loses the essence of the original.

Malayalam movies on d other end , has less movies made on big budget but more than 80% of them are too broad content wise , performance wise and screenplay wise .
But Tamil industry these days focus more on content and rest are just bonus . Just have a look at movies like 'Sarkar' , 'Mersal' , 'IrumbuThirai' , 'Ratsasan' and so on... It's really proving dat South Indian Industries are not just about mass and illogic content .

In kerala majority of people I.e >90% are educated, so their film makers are concentrate on stories and those make as realistic as possible...
But in telugu,we have all industry hits are story with commercial elements that means film makers have to give elevations to hero,punch dialogues,swag etc are all these expected by B and C centres people...
Even those people are Knowledgeable but in comment section they are commenting ,they feel that they are the best in film making...
Trust me if we remake full movie from malayalam instead of story line then definitely all movies will going to be flop in telugu...

@Pavan precious Well, Chandu is one of the good directors I have seen lately. His film Karthikeya is one of the best and creative. In fact, he did a good job, making changes to the original Premam instead of applying copy-paste, because by doing that, he ensured that the Anupama's episode and the Madonna's episode didn't seem to be boring unlike the original's. So, he is here to stay.
So u r saying Chandu is a good director and even though he put all his metal into premam remake project it winded up like this crap ???.. . Telugu Premam was just about Naga Chaitanya and his actresses. But Malayalam Premam was more that that. It shows the friendship between Nivin and his friends. Even in this fight scene, only Naga Chaitanya was fighting plus when Shruthi loses her memory, he didn't really have that connection with his friends. But, in Malayalam, during all the phases of his life, his friends were close and they played that major role along with him. That makes the original Premam more special 🙌🏻
