As someone who's GI Joe collecting years straddled the very late 80's/early 90's, these bring back a lot of nostalgia. 90's Joe doesn't get enough love.
True that, good thing I still enjoyed the 90's more since the problem I had with the 80's era was it's elitism when they judge 90's or 2000's kids for having different childhoods than the 80's kids. I mean, no offense if you love the 80's tho' but just pointing out a alittle problem with that era imo at least.
Still remember getting the Badger and Battle Wagon. The Battle Wagon was easily one of the best GI Joe vehicles being motorized and it had that Gatling Gun missile launcher that would fire as fast as you could turn the dial on the back.
What bums me out is that like my favorite guilty pleasure of G.I. Joe of the 2000's "Sigma 6" is that I'm usally the only casual G.I. Joe fan that enjoyed these 90's commercials and that Sgt. Savage animated movie lol.
I'm down, would've also been cool if they added the characters from one of my favorite G.I. Joe guilty pleasures like Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles :D
These commercials are so campy and corny that if someone actually made this into a full length movie today, it would probably be on par with MCU movie sales and views. Probably what this world could use right now! ❤️ I would absolutely watch it just because the fun factor and not taking things to serious or overly political. Just good old fashioned good vs bad and lots of quips and light hearted jokes with a positive message ❤️
3DJoes has most of that commercial, but he's missing Part 4 and Part 7, the finale. Part 4 is when Duke is refusing to put Storm-Shadow in the Brainwashing Tank, yelling, "No! I won't do it!" So in response, Destro shoves him back in the tank, going, "THIS'LL change your mind!" When Strom-Shadow pulls Duke out during the rescue raid, he goes, "Come on, Duke! Let's get out of here!" But Duke goes, "I'm not leaving Cobra---YET!" The finale, Part 7, is when Duke kicks Destro off a cliff and his mask comes off, and Gung-Ho goes, "Destro's gone! And all that's left is his mask!" And a kid holding the toy mask goes, "I wonder what he looks like!" He is EXTREMELY interested in anyone who can point me to those two missing serials. Me, too, for that matter.
If a GI Joe movie had the production value and acting caliber of these commercials, I would actually watch it. They could make remote control versions of all the vehicles for the combat scenes that used them, shamelessly green screen and dead giveaway set pieces. It would sell more tickets, finish on less than half the budget of previous efforts, and bring to light a more nuanced and intellectual dimension to the oversaturated attempts we have been offered in this century. CAST: Ryan Reynolds is Duke Margot Robbie is Scarlet Terry Crews is Roadblock (and Roadblock is Terry Crews) Nicolas Cage is Destro Tony Jaa is Snake Eyes John Lithgow is Cobra Commander Selena Gomez is The Baroness Rob McElhenney is Shipwreck I'm open to other suggestions, I don't have a Storm Shadow or General Hawk yet, hit me
Your absolutely right. But we have to keep in mind that these toys are a product of their time - the neon 90s! They were constantly doing market research and adjusting their go to market strategies, and unfortunately in the early 90s, neon colors were HOT!
Well, I don't think they're dumb, I think you 80's elitists are the dumb ones since it's obvious your biased opinions towards this were the reason I lost internet in the original 80's G.I. Joe era, thanks alot lmao.

I remember waiting for the next commercial as a kid like “man whats next??” lol
those sure were some bright colors in the 90s!
That "Plasmatox" was likely just one of those florescent light tubes you wear on Halloween.
R,I,P, Chris Latta.
Who's that?
@@shutterbug_713 the voice for StarScream and Cobra Commander
Was going to comment the same until I saw this
Unbelievable quality! So cool!

wow they told a whole story in commercials
Yep! Kirk Bozigian, VP of Boys Toys at the time these were made, likes to call these the G.I.Joe Micro Movie, or the first live action G.I.Joe film.
2:00 At last! After 30 years, I finally see what happened 2 poor G.I. Joe after THAT cliffhanger!
What do you mean?
@@matthewselby4524, I never saw the ad that followed it
Cobra Commander sounds like the voice of Starscream from The Transformers

Well, Chris Latta did have a distinct voice.
That guitar rock cover of the movie cobra theme is so good
@1:14 got this vehicle for my birthday once. :{
Firstly, these commercials together make a better movie than the last two…
Second, legit these toys got me and my friends outdoors playing endlessly.
I mean, I did enjoy the last two as my guilty pleasure but ok, I guess I deserved that lol.
they should have done a full length series like this
I'm down, would've also been cool if they added the characters from one of my favorite G.I. Joe guilty pleasures like Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles :D
Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future ?

I remember the serial commercial when Duke is captured and brainwashed into becoming a Cobra soldier.
Yep, that was 1992!

Eco warriors rule!
Is it just me or would the vehicles look better if they weren't given eclectic colors and given more traditional Joe abd Cobra colors?
