- I am so delighted to begin a brand new year with you all. May this year bring new favour, opportunity, blessings and successes. As with every new year, we have new resolutions and expectations. And the one thing I want to remind us is not to get overwhelmed by trying to accomplish everything. Take it easy. Give yourself grace. The most important thing is that we are all, in every given moment, trying our very best. And above all, trusting in God that he’s got the whole world in his palms, including us. He’s got us.
I crossed over into the new year while at Church with my family. It was wonderful. The first reading was taken from Kings chapter 6, where there was this king trying to kill a prophet of God called Elisha. And due to Elisha’s faith, all their scheming and planning to ruin and destroy him came to a naught. They couldn’t even touch him. May this be our 2023 and beyond. May no enemy touch us, may no weapon formed against us prosper and may our faiths be so strong that nothing can shake it or us.
May we share everything we have with those who have less than us. May we live not for ourselves alone but for others too. May we normalise sacrifice and compromise. May the strength of humanity be in actually being selfless humans, neighbors and friends to each other. In our homes, schools, work places, communities in general. With this, we can drive peace forward.
Finally, May each of per Perosnal wishes, dreams, desires that are good be fulfilled in 2023, by God’s grace.
