Driving back out of town during an emergency that lasted a week it was so hard being away for even that long. We have always been together almost everyday of our lives. I’m going about to head out on my 5th deployment even though I’m no longer married and single but it’s still rough leaving everything behind. All I do is look at all the soldiers and wonder to myself how they hold it together leaving their better half’s and babies. In a way I’m glad I don’t have to fight those emotions on days of when we head out but I also wonder if I would be a different man if I was married and having kids. I truly tip my hat off to the spouses and and momma dads who stay behind to take care of the home front. While we go off into the sun set for a year.
