I have the V3x 33, and the Ventum Pro 33. I love them both. The draw cycle and shooting experience is better on the Hoyt. The Mathew’s is a touch quieter, however my Hoyt is deader at the shot. The grip, is no comparison better on the Hoyt, even with the side plates on my V3x…the Hoyt takes that check. The over all system, the Mathew’s wins. A lot of people hate on the switch weight mods, but I LOVE the fact that I can change draw weight with just mods, and have a couple sets for my V3x. Mathew’s customer service, and the fact that you can get any part, for any bow they have EVER made, is absolutely awesome. Hoyt bows are bullet proof, you almost can’t break them, how ever, I am very impressed with my V3x, and think the build quality is phenomenal…I don’t think you could break that bow either…unless you do something very stupid. They both check so many boxes, and have almost zero negatives….honestly. I think that either brand you go with, is going to do everything you want it to, and the quality is amazing. I may be in the minority….but I go back and forth which bow is my favorite…it is usually one I am shooting at the time, lol. These are hands down the best two manufacturers on the planet right now, and I don’t think anyone else is quite to these two companies’ levels. Elite and Prime are awesome, but I think Hoyt and Mathew’s are making the best bows on the market…and I think most people will be happy with either brand, no matter what choice you make. My suggestion….but both!
I have a Phase 4 with the 8-inch bar on the front. I will change that to a side bar later in the year. I personally think these stabilizers are ugly, but I think they serve amazing purposes. They are not solid which aids in two ways: 1) they are difficult to see from the side, and 2) they help with the wind when there is a cross wind while shooting. I don't know if this was intentional or if they are byproducts of design. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and the wind has been impressive the days I have been able to shoot. I have noticed the difference between my Phase 4 and my V3 27.
That’s an interesting thought and a good point. I love what Mathew’s did with the stabilizers. It’s so unique and I actually think they look pretty sharp. So you’re noticing a difference with the wind?

I have a V3x, and a Ventum Pro 33, and the engage legs are better. The go stick are cool, except one fatal flaw…you can bits the ground, which is a HUGE no go for me. I would say hoyt! Even though it was tough for me to choose. But it's cheaper to build the hoyt, and you're not jeopardizing anything. On the other hand, if you don't run matthews products in phase 4, you are jeopardizing performance, so that's my take.
In the market for new bow. Shot both bows and the vtm is definitely smoother draw cycle. Both are dead in the hand. Then I Shot the new bowtechs and the draw cycle blows both of these away. Always had a hoyt and now I'm second guessing myself.
I like the look of the Hoyt over the Mathews. Did you put them both through the chrono to see if the lighter feeling Hoyt is shooting at the same speed as the Mathews?
I was planning on doing a separate video on that this week! So I will find out for you, I’ve had my bow on the chrono, 476 grain arrow and I’m sitting around 300
Great video! Ty I'm 57 with a little shoulder issue. What Hoyt you think would be easier for me to pull back the VTM 31 or 34. shooting both at 60#.Thank you
I'm telling you people should try other draw Cycles on the other bows they're both amazing all those these days are pretty damn amazing but I want something that I can adjust and put lower let off on tour I'm holding more weight so there is not more influence on the string at pool draw cuz one that has eighty to ninety percent you barely touch that string Josh bowmar several people have done videos on that showing how easy the string is influence that's why Target archers shoot low let off
Bro I have your answer, justifying buying both. Mathew’s doesn’t make a light, carbon bow, so buy the Hoyt in carbon fully built, for winter or backpack hunts and the phase 4 fully built for other. Until Mathew’s comes out with carbon.

What makes the difference, and why I sold my phase 4, is after I settle in with the phase 4, there's been too many times where I come out of the valley right before making the shot. A lot of people seem to miss the fact that you don’t HAVE TO buy, or use the integrated stabilizers on the Mathews, you CAN use traditional stabs. I think $720+ for a full stab set up is a spit in the face to Mathew’s customers. You can NOT convince me that they couldn’t sell these for half the asking price and still make a good profit. They are relying on the blind and rabid fanboys to buy anything that says Mathew’s on it…for ANY price they ask…and this is proof of it. I am a CNC machinist, so I understand the R&D and manufacturing cost thing, so don’t try that as an ‘excuse’ for these prices….they are absolutely OVER PRICED….and the argument of, ‘well you can adjust them in or out, so you can blah blah blah’. You usually KNOW what length bars you like, and don’t change that back and forth. And for the price difference, you could buy several bars and STILL be cheaper than the Mathew’s stabs. I have a V3x and a Ventum Pro, and love both brands….but the price on these stabilizers is a spit in the face to Mathew’s customers, period. And I can afford it, so I am not just a guy who can’t afford it, whining about it either, these are simply over priced by a high margin.
If you’re reading what the companies have for published speeds then you’re already wrong on the speeds because they are never that normally 10+ fps off🤷♂️ but it is a fact the VTM has a smoother draw and that’s because it doesn’t have a big valley it drops into… when making “big purchases” I have always lived by one quote. “Buy once and cry once” doesn’t really apply for people who upgrade bows like they do phones tho🤣 I would justify the price of the stabilizers if it was going to be a life long bow but you can still put a regular stabilizer on the bow and you aren’t required to use their bridge lock system it’s just a convenience IMO
Perfect comparison video! These are the top two bows I came up with in my research. I'm completely new at archery. I think I'm still going with Hoyt. The sight on the Matthew's looked different... what was it like compared to yours? Also I made my first shorts video on a couple large fixed blades I bought! Check it out
I will definitely check it out! The sight on the mathews was different, it was an older sight. The shop that i go to doesn't put top of the line accessories on demo bows! They want to keep it as simple as possible for new shooter, and there is also less setup time involved!

Lightly curl your fingers back on your grip & @ release you’ll stop grabbing the bow with torque. Watch every shot @ release you death grab the bow.
Thanks for the advice brother 💪
@@Tyjjordan sure thing easy fix take about a week
Phase 4 is the best sounding bow and the quitest imo
That Phase 4 sounds alot quieter then the VTM, maybe it's just my phone,
Just like last year the hoyt just had a better draw cycle
It feels unreal!
I shoot the rx7 and those cams are so good across so many bows. Awesome engineering.
Agree with everything you said here 💯
334 ata…that’s a huge axel to axel…lol
Pull them both back on draw weight scale and see if they’re both really pulling 70 pounds
They were
The vtm was actually pulling 71
@@Tyjjordan cool! That’s definitely a point for Hoyt
@@taylormarcel for sure, I’m planning on going with a Mathew’s this year excited to put some reps in with one!
@@Tyjjordan sweet! I have a v3x… will probably upgrade next year!
What is your grouping size at long distance with the VTM?
Perfect comparison video! These are the top two bows I came up with in my research. I'm completely new at archery. I think I'm still going with Hoyt. The sight on the Matthew's looked different... what was it like compared to yours? Also I made my first shorts video on a couple large fixed blades I bought! Check it out
I will definitely check it out! The sight on the mathews was different, it was an older sight. The shop that i go to doesn't put top of the line accessories on demo bows! They want to keep it as simple as possible for new shooter, and there is also less setup time involved!
@Ty Jordan Thanks. I'll check out ur video on the purple one
I would look at the ss34 by bowtech its top notch
Mathews draw cycle is so bad to me. Hoyts draw on the vtm is muchhh better
Don’t use a whisker biscuit on a $1500 bow
It’s a demo bow… there’s no point in throwing a nice rest on it if it’s going to be sold and changed out.
And why not? It’s perfectly fine
Vtm is better imo
Your draw length is too short!
No it’s not corner of the mouth tip of the nose is the standard any further back you’re over drawing.
Mathews every time…
There's really zero difference. Both companies are the leading archery manufacturers ON THE PLANET. That being said I go Mathews every time
