I think you're underselling the catapult's 'skulls of the foe' ability. -1 leadership, anywhere on the board, without having tho hit or wound anything or pass spells that can be dispelled, that stacks with leadership penalties from other spells or terror, is huge. panic tests (including from the catapult), fear tests (your whole army causes fear), terror tests, break tests, all the little character abilities that require leadership tests, a unit & the characters in it might make half a dozen different leadership tests before your nest turn, so many opportunities for that -1 penalty to prove absolutely critical. I think one of these is downright mandatory. Honestly, I'd be inclined to run two of them.
I always ran 2 and never took the foe upgrade back in the day - I do think its a different animal now with how important LD is. My main issue is not being able to "target" very easy to splash multiple units. You need to place centrally on a target - it then can scatter and its 2D6 from the hole - its not really easy to hit what you want with this (yes you can indirect fire but then you are scattering) if you want to rely on this debuff I think you absolutely need 2 especially as the 2D6 is also random - with larger bases how many units are your realistically going to hit? My other issue when it comes to terror is the timing - you want them to fail the terror when you charge, this actually isn't in effect because timing. I do think they are good but Maybe you are overselling and I am underselling and its more in the middle :D
The -1 sure is nice, provided you don't misfire (1/6 chance) and hit on target (1/6 chance) and don't scatter too far off. Also, for those who think the panic test might seem nice, but say you manage to shoot and kill 4 mobs, as long as the unit is above 50% starting unit strength it will just fall back in good order and rally.
As much as I like trying to kill a dragon lord with the Necrosphinx, relying on a single attack per turn to hit and then roll a 6 (1/12 chance per combat phase) is iffy at best. A scorpion would have a much better chance, although fluff wise it is absolutely stupid to think that a scorpion's claws can pinch the head off a massive dragon..
Agreed. Sphinxes seem very weak with their reduced Toughness of 6. Your necrosphinx probably won't get to swing at all if it is taking 11 or more S7 attacks from a chaos lord on dragon.
@@priorityordersdiscarded7868 It's also -1 hit within 18 of a casket, so potentially hitting on 4s, wounding on 3s, 6+ ward, 5+ regen. Even 11 attacks is 2 wounds which is healed by a single level 1 mortary priest in the cult.
Someone in another video said that there was a lot of swallowing, I said pish posh, sure thing.... but now I am keenly aware of the frequency of the swallowing and breathing that they pointed out..
Would be greatful if you ever do Daemons. They have some weird things going on. Bloodthirsters don't have Stomp, their "bsb" does not allow re-rolls on Break test and Slaanesh has some weird things with Counter Charge, which I think I have figured out. ^^*
Yeah I kinda like the skirmishes rather then archers. No volley fire because skirmish so you get all the shots, chariot runners so you can screen and get your impact hits. Skirmishes makes them -1 to shoot
Hi, I got the Khemri box, currently building the army and I wonder if it is a good idea to build the 1250 points army in the booklet? I mean, is it decent? Or is it like: yeah you can do this, but its rubbish ... ? So better get your king on the dragon and the lich priest on foot and make more horse archers and more spearmen instead of archers ... and stuff like that and you end up like having another starter set to fix your army?
I think you're sleeping on skirmisher bowmen. I think they're just better than the reg ones for the same cost. Small detachments of bowmen seem good though
Cant wait till your list builds. Cause new to the game and it will be a great starting point to go on. Tomb kings ftw I have 22 horse archers and 8 horsemen.. thinking if worth converting them to ranged... Or you thinkg 22 is enough
the issue you have with the necro sphinx is at 195 points you can only take 2 in 2000 points but 3 bone giants at 160 id 480 points so you can take 3 in 2000 points. i honestly think the threat of 3 is very scary and covers redundancy. just my 2 cents here. im fielding 3 in 2k. but then again the necro sphinx flies so maybe its worth it?
Royal Heralds Upgraded to BSB’s have a specific rule that changes what a normal BSB does! Our Undead BSB allows us to re-roll any and all Ld tests in range, on top of giving D3 Indomitable or whichever source of Indimitable is higher, which is crazy good for TK!
Thanks for the contentate. I'd steer away from difinitivly saying what is good or bad as it is with previous version biased have no idea how this game will play out over the next year. It's all guess work and you run the risk of being a bit embarrassed by bad early takes as we all have done in the past.😊
It's ok I don't mind being wrong. These are just my opinions at the time. I don't think I can eliminate past Warhammer bias but that's also ok. I do try and be balanced of finding a use for things.
are you ~really~ going to take two necrosphinxes? Maybe in Mortuary cult, where you can take 33% rare, and can take one as a special choice. Heck, you could take three of them! But Royal host can't take them at all, and normal tomb kings only get 25% rare, which means a second necrosphinx comes at the cost of not being able to take casket of souls or a catapult with skulls of the foe, both of which are pretty hard to leave behind.
@@FaceHammer ah, sorry. I haven’t read it myself and didn’t catch a full glimpse while listening and washing dishes. Thats good to know though, thank you! Keep up the awesome work 🙏
As a tournament game there is really a big need for restrictions because there can be so many builds that are in no way funny to play against and as important, to make more diversive armies.

@@FaceHammer It was a rare thing but it was always fun to make a giant blob of ogres panic and run off the board on the first turn :)
I'm saving this for next week when tomb kings hit my painting schedule!
Mate. This was an epic deep dive. Appreciate the ideas!
Glad you enjoyed it!

obviously the dragon tries to take a bite of the scorpion and it SNIPS its head clean off :D

The scorpion is undercosted. Monsterslayer makes no sense.

😂 I was coming to say the same. Fantastic information otherwise.
damn...love this channel...keep up the good work!
😮 Tomb Kings flyers can march? 😮😮
I don't have the rules yet, so this mega surprized me (possitively). Cannot wait to play some TK.
yeah crazy isnt it - makes Carrion so good
Keep them comming mate! Also please do O&G sooner than later XD
Will do!
@@FaceHammerThan I am waiting in aticipation for your take on unwashed (and green) hordes XD
I miss the bow of the desert upgrade for the bone giant. It was pretty bad, but it was a fun option to have on a S6 monster.

yeah caught this later - thanks for pointing it out tho

BSB's let you reroll Panic, Rally and break tests was my understanding in this edition. Not all leadership tests.

in mortuary cult only I think and yes I am planning on having 2 in a mort list
I don't know about anybody else, but I will DEFINITELY take Ushabti because they are cool
this is 100% accurate - I really love them
Show us your mortuary list!
If the Khemrian Warsphinx mount count as a chariot, can it join chariot units?
nope because unit type
Does warding splint stack with bone dragon 4+ save to give the Hierophant a 2+ save??
No it does not - use either mount or rider save
Which is better between Skeleton Archers and Skirmishers ?
Skirmishers extra 1 movement, vanguard, screening necropolis knight, harder to hit against shooting.
check the FAQ you HAVE to roll for ambush reserves every turn you cannot choose not to (page 2 of the FAQ)
New and confused. Your BSB can be anyone for what, 25 points? Idr. Ive heard some people wanting to put it on the Tomb King
it has to be on a royal herald. The box out in the muster list says this
