Norin is such an interesting card and I hadn't heard much discussion around it. Seems like great tech to side in against threats like obliterators and attraxas. Thanks for drawing my attention to this card Ash
I made a token deck like this with Anim, Warleader, Mondrak, the white Avatar and Ojer Axonil. It slaps so hard and if Arabella isn't in play then the other combo pieces tend to pop off for the win. Delney also helps Anim's tokens become unblockable if the opponent only has big creatures on the board.
I even ponder to make it the head of the Anim Pakal deck instead. Cradle of Vitality or Nykthos Paragon with either Anim Pakal, Krenko (Kingpin), Threefold Thunderhulk you basically replace all your 1/1s with new 1/1s even if you buff all with the Paragon.
@@garaktartv3647 Not sure what you mean. I have a Anime Pakal EDH deck in the works and Arabelle is such an interesting part B to the effect A Anime Pakal has so I consider to play Arabelle instead of Anime Pakal. I don't intend to play Anim Pakal in pauper commander. Arabelle is a legend so it is legal to play her as a commander. And to go of the example of landfall. Sometimes you want a commander with Landfall that uses land synergies while other times you have a commander with land synergies and you play landfall. Anim Pakal produces tokens and you can profit by playing Cathars' Crusade, Impact Tremours and Arabelle as ways to profit from the tokens. But one also will play similar cards as Anim Pakal in case the commander is removed to often. In the Case of Arabelle there is one card in the command zone that profits from the token makers so one can lean more into the token makers direction of which there are more overall. One could easily switch one for the other in some decks. And if one plays Arabelle one has access to lifegain shenanigans.
@@jacobpollock8785 I'm out of everything besides common WC, so... Life's hard for F2P players. The irony being that I already have all the cards for this deck, except for the DSK *uncommons* and 2 mythic for the Dollmaker Shop.
Yay! I love Arabella. I went more artifact with skrelv for protection and hive for tokens plus fomori vault in the mana base. Right now I’m testing song of totentanz to give Arabella haste plus more tokens for Toby. As well as charming scoundrel since the role attach is a token. So more Toby focused so my tokens can flyyyyy
I used to have a deck that would the perfect counter to that deck.. 3/4 of the cards (Not counting lands) in my deck was destroy creature + 4 different cards that allowed me to steal creatures from other players graveyard each upkeep.. But the majority of the cards got banned from standard and some are only allowed in Timeless now.
Arabella is crazy, if she stays on board you end up at 40+ life in a few turns. I need to find a way to make her hasted, possibly in a Naya tokens build that uses Awaken the woods
I know this is not supposed to be a best-of-1 deck, but I tried it anyway. Managed only to win 7 of the 15 games I have played. When the deck goes, it goes and the combination of Arabella and Delney is a killer. But in other games it did not go so well and really suffered against mono black and Selesnya ecnhantements, 0 - 3 against both. Oh well, maybe time to try best-of-3 instead.
@@ave_maria323 I was using her as a commander in standard brawl about a week ago and it felt do dirty against the decks that didn't draw pure removal lol.
Deadly cover up gets better if the enduring cycle stays popular in the meta. Cover up kills the enduring creature and then exiles it from the grave before it can reanimate as an enchantment.
Arabella is really strong, I’m playing an mardu version that brings deep-cavern bat, thoughtstalker warlock, preacher of the schism and bloodletter of Aclazotz, it’s running very well, maybe the bloodletter is a little bit win more but I am enjoying this deck
29:52 I don't understand the decision of keeping the entire footage of you telling your streaming audience to click a link in chat, while editing out the actual sideboarding process that people are watching this video for. Seems reversed to me? Would suggest keeping the relevant part of the sideboarding in the video next time.
Don’t invest cards in this deck. It’s another one of those decks that look good when you watch it on Ashley nice video but gets wrecked by everything in reality. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. The meta is plagged with anti-2 creatures, removal, board wipes or quick start decks that don’t even let you install those doll combo. If you want to play it, you better be ready to replace some of these cards with instant that hexproofs/ indestructible your cards (surge of salvation or dawn’s truce).
Piloting skills are a lot of it. After basically only playing EDH for a decade after selling my modern decks, adapting back to regular bo3 1v1 60 card magic to play Timeless on Arena, I don't know if I always sucked at magic, or if I just forgot it all. I was pretty sure I knew what midrange, control, aggro etc all meant until I decided to stop failing to understand sideboards and how to use them right. But crossing that bridge meant correctly identifying vague concepts. Ultimately even when playing an aggro deck, unless I actively ask if I'm on the beatdown or not, I default into playing everything like a control deck. Sure I can identify threats that need to be removed, but having a solid understanding of exactly how aggressive or grindy you need to be to outpace your opponent leads to a shocking shitload of nuance to what seemed like a choice A or B situation before engaging the game that way. I've been testing on the ladder and the decks got legs. Is it tier one? I have no idea, especially with Foundations or whatever coming soon anyway, the meta isn't exactly solved. Like I really want a reliable Urabrask's Forge some games but I can't find a slot in the mainboard for them. Especially when there's just as many games that Forge would be the worst use of turn 3 the deck has. Some of the interactions are awkward when you windmill slam on curve. Sometimes the exact same card is optimally played fundamentally different in two lists. Most braindead example I can come up with, One deck may use counterspells as removal pieces primarily, while another deck may hold them up to protect a fragile win con.
Because if a set is mid power people shit all over it. Ixalan, Masques Block, Homelands, Kamigawa etc...all lower power sets/blocks all poorly remembered. Like OG Kamigawa was so unpopular that when Modern became a format the random desirable cards from it were pretty expensive because of how under opened the set was compared to more powerful and hence popular.
Arabella seeing play in tier 1 boros convoke lists too. She is the real deal!
I use her in my Boros with the Ballon man so I can dupe stuff like Knight Errant of Eos; “attacking two-ways!”😂
Cool deck, Arabella is awesome! I'm feeling like trash today, ur video made my day a lil better thx
hope you feel better soon💜

Top tier video, great sound quality! Thanks
Im having so much fun with the recent decks, there is just so much!
2:03 Toby the BESTIE befriender 😭
Arabella should be a mythic rare; her being an uncommon is crazy!
4x Arabella in the opening hand, mulligans, and then proceeds to draw into 3 Lightning Helix. Yup, the shuffler is fine.
Love the deck. Doll is a fun card.
Honestly glad to see someone playing anything other than mono red prowess
Deck looks wild. I’m definitely trying this one.
Even for commander she is broken pair her with recruiter of the guard and search for delney, anim + war Leaders call =gg

Thay was a very interesting deck. I'm thinking about slotting one of those cards in a deck I'm running.
I feel like unidentified hovership could be a good option for removal that also helps you get attacks in with flying and synergize with survivor

Ouch, just went 3-14 with this. Can’t win on the draw and just way too much removal in the format. I did deliver 116 damage in one win tho!
Idk if dollmakers shop is that good here since 8 of ur creatures are toys and won't trigger it. Maybe the 4 mana summon 3 gremlins is better?
