Thanks for the vid, was waiting for it to drop. I must say, I really like okuma. I have gotten abit of a slide in penn products. My friend has a spinfisher for about 8 mnths and his reel is screwed after about 5 times use. His other spinfisher drag gets stuck, seems to be the ss washers. I had a penn regiment 15ft for scratching. Used twice and the bottom section had a hairline crack. Check the parts list on the new slammer. All penn clash and spinfisher parts in it. Thanks again for the vid, keep up the good work
I’m so Penn bias (Slammer has been go to reel since 2016), but I know there have been issues with the lower end reels. Dean loves his Gosa, and BG. But the Okuma reel is on 🔥 and we looking forward to pairing up Okuma Tesoro vs our current reels! Thanks for the comment🤙🏻
In America the Battle DTX have brass gears, the Spinnfishers in bigger models have brass gears and it’s a semi sealed reel. I have the 4500 Spinnfisher vi, next reel I’ll get is probably the Shimano Spheros ipx 8, only has 5 bearings but like he said bearings aren’t what matters!
It’s something to add to the list for sure- thank you- we will never run out of ideas for sure. We need to still get up to the Stella mark of around R20k😳
For boat fishing, for black sea bass, porgy, winter cod. 1) Which one is the best, Okuma Salina,Okuma Cedros,Daiwa Saltist,Penn Spinfisher Ssvi. 2) Cedros or Salina is better?
Let me answer like this: 2) Salina is better than Cedros for sure- major upgrade. 1) for boat fishing, all depends how deep you fish, and with what line/braid. For me, I’d only consider Salina/Daiwa Saltist out of the ones you mentioned🤙🏻
Thank you very much. What I really want to know , is which spinning real will fits a assasin 13,6 feet rod with a finger the best. The Shimano 10000 is much to heavy for me. The combo feels unbalanced. Thanks.
Daiwa BG, Marshall, Saltist never dissapoint. Bullet proof reels that can take a beating. Not to forget the BG MQ, what a fantastic reel. Okuma Metaloid absolutely impressive. New Tesorro looks good to.
@@untraceablefishing I'm going on an overseas trip soon but when I get back after 4 weeks, I will definitely pick up a 14k Okuma Salina 🙂 Honestly it just looks so good. I already have a 10k Saragosa, and a 6k Saltist. I have a couple of Daiwa, Shimano reels. Never used Okuma. Was thinking of picking up a Spheros, but I think the Salina just looks so good and different. I don't want another Saragosa-like reel. Not saying the performance is bad, its actually perfect. I just want something different yet still good. I've never seen anyone around here at the piers rocking a high-end Okuma reel (Melbourne, Australia) so want to be the first haha. Most people here just use Daiwa or Shimanos.
No bud, unfortunately not. Different class reels entirely. I think of the Salina was IPX rated like the slammer, it would come close- but the Slammer still wins. We have both, and love both… but 2 completely different leagues of reels🎣
@@untraceablefishing not yet but seems like a great reel. Okuma has really upped their game and is selling great quality tackle at great prices. Ask Dave @ Bilimoria to show you the Metaloid, which is selling < R2500
Okuma launched a 6000 and soon a 4000 Tesoro coming end of the year. We dont see them bringing the smaller 6000 to South Africa yet. Okuma Cedros is still using felt dragwashers come on Okuma its a rippoff when you are paying so much money for a reel in this economy.
The PENN Battle 3 has a brass main gear from the 6000 up. 5000 down has an aluminium gear.
Thank you💪🏻

Great videos so far, really like it and thank you for making something like this.
How about for a next video about long cast reels ?

Very informative, like the okuma, well done fisho
That Okuma is 🔥🔥
If I was looking under the R3k mark, it would be a very high contender🤙🏻

Hey bud
Which assassin rod are you referring to? (Give me a name).
Let me go check in store which is the most balanced for the exact rod you have🤙🏻
Daiwa BG, Marshall, Saltist never dissapoint. Bullet proof reels that can take a beating. Not to forget the BG MQ, what a fantastic reel.
Okuma Metaloid absolutely impressive. New Tesorro looks good to.
Magseal it is
We keen to put Tesoro up against what we use (Slammer and Saragosa).
We are quite spoilt for choice with reels🤣
Akuma Selina certainly looks the part with a super drag. +- The same weight? Thank you!
Roughly the same weight, but hands down our favourite… damn it looks good!
Getting a bg that size under 3k is scarce. I own a 8000 bg and battle 3 dx and thus far i prefer the penn over the bg, but both great reels
The 3dx is a lovely reel- can’t blame you there!
Bilimoria have them for under R3k most of the time🤙🏻🎣
Whats your thoughts on bluefish 14ft paired with salina 6000 for rock and surf?...weight wize...
Good setup…
For general purposes, I’d go on a 3-5oz🤙🏻🎣
You’ll have an amazing outfit!
Which one has the best drag clicker sound though? I heard the Salina has a almost silent drag clicker so doesn't sound very good?
Hey there
No, the Salina sounds great hey- probably the best in our opinion🤙🏻

Daiwa Caldia Lt or caldia Sw
SW👌🏻
What's better Daiwa BG or Shimano Socorro?
In our opinion, Daiwa BG.
Hi, have you tested the silina as yet? What are the results
Hey Fisho
Yes we have in a few of our latest videos, including a short review on it.
It’s an amazing reel, well worth the money🤙🏻
What rod would you pair it with and what braid . it be cool to see. Vidio of setup
Could the selina compete with a penn slammer ?
