I feel like if he didn't have a lisp, the media wouldn't have been able to label him as a animal, and if the media didn't label him as an animal he wouldn't have reacted like one. The media ruined his image, he was very wise for his age but those at the top couldn't let us have a true role model that was really much smarter than the system around us told us he was.
I know we were all very confused growing up seeing Mike labelled as an animal, but I now know we are very glad we had the ability to learn the truth about him, and because we cared he can now control his own legacy.

Mike is so intelligent really. Not many people know how clever the man is
I instantly noticed it when I was younger. Watching many different boxers I always thought they were all illiterate. When I saw him speak in an interview after a fight I was amazed by the way he expressed his thoughts. He is a smart man! Even when his life drawed him to boxing. Who knows what he would've done with his life if he had a different upbringing!
He has told a few times that he read a lot. The Art of War and other tittles about fighting. He didn't just trained his body, but his mind also!
Mike credits Cus d Amato for his literacy. He said Cus would motivate him to read books and speak eloquently.
I'm always in awe of how articulate and self aware Mike was as such a young man. That response to "Do you achieve it?"

My Dad thought Ali was the greatest fighter of all times... But it was undeniable how much he enjoyed seeing the raw talent of Tyson when we watched some of his best fights. He has more strength behind his punches 💪🏽than I've ever seen. I'm glad he rebuilt his life, and has better people around him now.🙏🏽
