'Mare' is Christian Loeffler's second studio album and follows in a similar vein to his self-released debut, 'A Forest'. However a key difference is that while his first album was heavily sample-based, 'Mare' is much more organic, in which nearly every sound and every instrument is self-recorded. Many of the album's ideas are based on field-recordings taken from the surroundings. On top of this, several microphones were set up in the room and left to run on for whole sessions. The microphones collected everything, from tapping, singing, playing, footsteps, as well as percussive elements.

There is a simple but "not so simple" elegance to C L tracks. The tracks course well and own quite an organic feel. The complexity is obscured by the sheer beauty of each. Being an old audiophile, I adore the attention paid to a full frequency recording. Props

So last year I finally made the decision to quit my job and go on a 3 month trip in Europe. After the traumatic time during the pandemic, I stopped waiting and just went for what I’d always wanted to do, which was traveling over an extended period of time.
When I was sitting in Champ de Mars looking at the Eiffel Tower, I put on my AirPods to listen to this song in its entirety. It vibed harmoniously with the sentiments coursing through my mind. Somehow there felt to be a force overseeing what’s going on in the world and blessing what is to come. Everything will somehow be alright.
The vibes places me in a different time zone - a Trance.
