Wonder if you have any devices that use lower frequency rf. I bought some LED lamps recently thinking the remotes would be ir, but they were RF, so I was glad I already had a Sonoff RF that I had upgraded to use Tasmota.
That is a nice little bno055 board! It would be really cool if it had the bno085, which is basically the same imu with much better firmware (better fusion algorithms)

these LoRa modules I use come in two flavors 868 and 433 Mhz. That lamp you were talking about also uses 433 Mhz for the RC.
The pinout of the modules is identical, and the software part too, so I can easily switch between them if needed.

@@coreWeaver oh interesting. Can the lora radio interop with non-lora protocols? Or are you mostly looking to control devices you make?

@@rpavlik1 This module I'm using for long range communication will require a same module on the other side.

yeah it's possible. I see two different approaches: Texting, Phone calls and a camera wouldn't be a complicated thing. You can watch my video about the cell phone I designed here: ruclips.net/video/JDmqrCzniDg/видео.html
It doesn't features a camera but I can add one and it wouldn't require a much more powerful processor or a SoC.
      2. For google maps and whatsapp I would have to change the architecture a lot, since it would need to run Android as operating system. You could then uninstall everything else from the package and keep only the apps you want.
There's a middle way between these two. Use the first approach, no Android at all, just SMS, Phone and Camera, include a GPS module and then use the data from the GPS on an external device to do the navigation in real time or just save the route on a flashcard to visualize it later.

@@coreWeaver - thank you for your reply. I believe I have a phone addiction. When I uninstall apps I just re install. So I don't want any way to have apps. I think I would just need phone calls, mms and text messages and a good camera asni have kids so will want to be taking pictures of them and can send to friends and family via mms. Don't think google maps is needed as i can get navigation in car. Email is also nice to have as the school sends messages to the parents. Whats app is good as in not addicted.
