    Tires look great. Suggest repacking or replacing the wheel bearings. Not a tough job and service the brakes also easy project. Nice to know all of that is up to date when hauling your tractor. Another good video. Keep on truckin'!

      Spare tire 100%.
      Right side socket and wrench to get the Lug nuts off.
      Jack, unless you use your trucks Jack.
      No use having a spare if you don’t have a way to change it.

      @@SteveB2601easy way to change a trailer tire with dual axles is to drive the good tire up onto a 4x4 or larger block. He needs an assortment of blocks anyway to support the rear of the trailer when driving heavy things up the ramp. A tongue box would be a great addition for a jack if you decide to go that way, blocks, straps, chains, binders, whatever.

      I wish I read this message 5 months ago. I bent my trailer putting a large tractor on my trailer. I had to bend it back and weld a skeleton frame around the whole trailer. Then I added two screw jacks to each side. Is it perfect no. Does it work and drive straight yes.

    Ed I was told that their is a hot and ground on trailer brakes. On my trailer there is. The way to check is put your truck at an angle , lift the tire up and spin it then while it is spinning watch when you activate the break. Seeings that you have to rewire the plug may I suggest getting a complete led light kit and replace them all . Also I would add penny lights on the front and back of the fenders. Amber in front red on back. They are like $3 each. You will thank me if you have to back it up at night. Have a great day

    I have a 24 foot tandem axle that I put new tires and axles on in 2020. In three years I had blowouts on three tires from the belts slipping. The tires were inflated to the right level each time and I don't run the trailer that much. All the blowouts were on the brake axle. After that I replaced the brake axle tires with high ply commercial trailer tires. No issues since. I still run the crude tires on the idler axle.

    Ed, I know this is gonna sound crazy but I have a friend here in Kentucky that has your same exact model tractor. He has a sign in his yard and he post at local Rural King, Tractor Supply, Lowe’s etc, that he does garden tilling. I never would have believed that would be something that many people would want. You wouldn’t believe how busy he is with that one thing. I sure didn’t until he told me. Just a heads up. Could be a regional thing, I don’t know. But worth a shot. I’m sure that would work into other things as well. Just looking out.

Frame is over built with a better truck I'm hoping to haul 2 bundles per trip.

    I switched to SUV radial tires just for the speed rating. I think most equipment trailer type tires are only rated to 65 or 70mph. That's some of the camper issues, but most of that is long hauls and over weight combined.

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  23 дня назад

      I’ve always thought that would be ok too. However I have read that trailer tire sidewalls are specially designed for rigidity to prevent trailer sway. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @greenwoodsbushhogging6704
      @greenwoodsbushhogging6704 23 дня назад

      @MyClutteredGarage I'm not going to admit to pulling over the weight capacity buuuttttt... I've not noticed a single issue with it. Far better tread wear, and they're definitely cooler to the touch when I stop to check everything. That's running 400+ miles straight, averaging 75mph with a full load on the trailer.

    Instead of penetrating oil, try a 50/50 mix of Acetone, and ATF (automatic transmission fluid). This is one of the best rust penetrating oils out there!
    Also, I have to ask.
    I saw that you loaded ONE OLD TIRE AND WHEEL when you went to see the tire dealer, but did not return with it. Did you have to leave the old wheel and tire, or was it your choice to do so?

    • @Dan-oz4qb

      Yes. There are charts online that give you the recommendation based on several variables like hub size, wheel material, etc. I write the torque and tire psi on the fender with a paint marker. Load range C are 65 psi (air pressure) and you should run at the max. Lug torque is probably 80-120 guessing without knowing all details of Edd's trailer except it has 5 lug 3500 lbs axles.
