The V.O.C. - Hendrick Hamel's Journal (1653-1666)

In the lessonserie about the V.O.C: The Hamel's journal written by Hendrick Hamel from Gorinchem (Gorkum/ dutch: pronounciation). He wrote his story after his 13-year stay in Korea, where he ends up after his ship "de Sperwer" (Sparrowhawk) got caught in a storm and ran on the coast off the Korean Island of Jeju. Hamel also became known as the discoverer of the country of Korea. He was the first Western to provide an account of Korea and the Korean Korean culture.
