16:31 This needs an engineers explanation. How did they pick up sounds. What did the noise sounds like exiting? Like the children's tubes on the playground when you talk into a tube on one side and hear it on the other end? Why did it stop working? Copper tubes don't just magically stop working. Unless the speaking end was removed and capped off. Good though in an era before loud speakers and PA systems. That reminds me of the Orators room in Derinkuyu.
No idea what they sounded like originally. I doubt they worked very well. But the effort was there to create some kind of sound system. There is def corrosion inside them. But to what extent I couldn’t say.
Interesting I just found out I come from 3 generations of 32° Masons and Shriners here in Detroit.

I'm an 18th° at the moment. But in May I'll be a 32°. Excited to keep learning.
Came here because of a book The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, wanted a better visualization of one of the settings of the novel.
We did a 10 Episode set on the TV show lost symbol.
I'm not sure I want to go done this rabbit hole. But my search for understanding of whom I am and why I am here goes back to my early years when I was very young and found history of the British Empire very fascinating. My mother would quote how the sun never set on the Union Jack was very interesting to me. Now I'm starting to connect the dots. Where I grew up the Temple was on route, going to shopping mall when we drove by which always drew my attention. Then one day I was blessed to enter to listen to a soloist sing my favorite gospel tune, It is well with my soul. Then I saw insignia on the walls which scared me in a way. My father of Scottish decent no doubt was born and raised in Albert Pikes neck of the woods and my mother born of bohemian extract, seems to lead too somewhere that I don't know. BUT we will see, thanks for the video.
The Temple Choir at Temple Square sing a lovely rendition of It Is Well With My Soul, if you are interested 🙏
Was this shown to the Virtual Reunion classes that happened in 2020? I think that's where I saw it before...

@@ScottishRiteMasons Hmm.... You know, I think what I saw was YOU on the roof, but it was very similar. I don't know, maybe I'm losing my mind. ;)

Valley of Madison, WI.
Glad you enjoyed Brother!
Thank you for sharing this. In the Executive Chamber the altar contains a Tanakh representing the Jewish members not a Pentateuch. That term is for the Torah or 1st 5 books. The Tanakh contains the Torah and two more sections, Writings and Prophets. It is our whole Bible.
Appreciate the clarification. I'll try to edit that if YT will let me.
Thank you, brother.
Great video Brother!! Every time I am in DC I visit the House of the Temple! Brother Steve Russo, 32, Valley of Jacksonville. Member of Amelia Lodge No. 47, Fernandina Beach, Florida.

What are the deities worshipped in this Temple?
I only see portraits of human celebrities.
Freemasonry is NOT a Religion and there are no Masonic deities. The portraits on display are part of our museum and they are there to recognize famous Masons who contributed to the craft or humanity in some way.
How come only men are allowed to become a scottish rite mason? Just curious...
Speaking just for myself:
There are lots of organizations that are exclusive to woman and other groups exclusive to men. These groups serve a vital purpose and allow men and women to have spaces that are just for them.
We think it’s ok for there to be a place that men can build positive, values based friendships that are not dependent on vocation or location. ~ M
How can I become a freemason from Pakistan

Can you imagine living in that apartment building? I whould go visit the "know thyself" chair once a month. We all need a reminder. To choose to right one thing on the temple of Delphi to echo through time, it must be very important 🤔😉

do mason's accept atheists or do u have to believe in a god
There are Masonic orders that accept atheists; but most of those are not recognized by traditional lodges. In the US and in Great Britain, the answer is generally no.

Is masonry a segregated organization? Out of the photos I did not see any black people.
