  • There are important changes in relation to how charities deal with land and property. The majority of these changes came into force in June 2023. This session will provide you with an insight into the key changes for Charity Property. It will be a practical session that will bring you up to speed with the requirements for Charities dealing with their property, as well as providing key insights into the recent changes to this area. If you are a Charity that holds property, this session will enable you to get to grip with the upcoming changes being brought in by the Charities Act 2022.
The Charities Act 2022 impacts every charity that holds property. If you are a Charity that holds property, this session will enable you to get to grips with the upcoming changes.
During this session, Lily and Sarah will cover:
Part 1: An overview of Charities Act Reports (also known as QSRs) including detail on the following topics: What a QSR is and where it comes up when dealing with property for charities, What property transactions you need QSRs for (including whether they are needed for Option Agreements and Wayleaves), What a QSRs needs to contain (and examples of best terms does not necessarily mean best price).
Who can provide QSRs? Practical application: timings of when they need to be obtained in a transaction; if there is a delay between obtaining a QSR and actual completion the requirement for a supplemental letter/report to confirm that the recommendations in the report have not changed in the gap.
