The Bed rule comes from way back when a cowboy never knew how clean a room was. Bedbugs and lice etc. Some rules do very, depends on location. In my area you only take off the hat when meeting a lady for the first time, after that you give a "tip" of the hat if outdoors. You also tip it when passing ladies you do not know if they are older than you. A lady never takes off her hat and only tips it to elders. In cooler climates, felt hats are used year-round, but some will change to a lighter color for the warm season. We also take off hats indoors unless it is a saloon. I enjoyed your video.
Taking hat off reminded me of taking our hats an shirts off too move city deeds in filing cabinet for Oregon City courthouse. I needed to ask question, could hear all this typing going through door. As soon as I stepped in, all typing stopped to not a sound. I asked my question then blew a kiss to all the ladies!

I’ve actually seen men wear these cowboy hats wearing cargo shorts and flip flops…not my thing, but again personal preference I guess. I don’t always wear boots either when wearing my hats…
In Billings Montana National Rodeo has travelling hat maker that tours current with rodeo. He has picture album from sam elliot, john Wayne to every cowboy you could of. Buffalo Hats is best fitting hat I've ever owned!
