I feel really bad for Two people without sharks, it had strong wheels, a sturdy structure, a streamline body and steering that worked (I think) their soapbox was the only one in this compilation that looked like it would be sturdy enough to get down, but the brakes seized up at the worse possible time. I hope they try again some day
I'm not sure it was even the brakes. You can see their front left wheel is turned inward regardless of where the other one goes. I assume whatever's making that happen is to blame.
First source of failure : Direction by swing front axle are bad. Very bad. Any bump on one side can send you crashing. Then, to narrow for the height. You need the centre of gravity to be as low as possible. Third fail : To short. It take a minimum length to have any control.
Because it's not a black inner city thug life wangster b.s. that's only there because of this fallacy of "white guilt", you know where certain people plain white people for their current misfortune based on misfortune of 200 years ago however, breakdancing is.......
This is what happens when people think they know about wheels, steering, and suspension geometry. I had no idea this kind of thing happens. I love these soap box derbies. I might build one for the us race in 2024. By the way, been a master tech and fabricator for 44 plus years. I love it.
I'm surprised you didn't include Speed Soap Fire Hidrant from the 2019 Soapbox in Lithuania, that one was such a disaster as it only went like 3 meters and only just touched the tarmac (and you missed/also forgot to show that besides getting stuck on the barriers, the Mystery Machine also lost a wheel which flew off the side and popped 😂)!! 😂 I also remember there was one with two dinosaurs in Croatia with their car I think being a dino egg (don't know the name), and as they went down the start ramp, the front wheels (bicycle wheels and frame pieces) instantly collapsed. 😝 Although in this case, the Venus and Crazy Taxi ones may actually take the cake, as at least the former two managed to leave the start line.
Do the rules not allow them to test the cars befors the race? I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't want to push it down your drivway or across a parking lot before a race.
So the ones that failed to even roll down the ramp: Do these people really spend all that time building a soap box racer without climbing in and pushing it 10 feet on flat ground?
Seeing whether the ride that you threw together with your friends will make it to the finish line in one piece is like half the fun for the people who build these
That crazy taxi looked like they just bolted some bicycle wheels to a forklift pallet!
The Rick n Morty one was hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣2:46
1. No respect for Gravity.
2. NO Breaks.
3. No learning from past.
Enjoy Everybody 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The look on her face. As a man, I never want to see that look in the bedroom hahah
Quem é ela?
Crazy Taxi and The Mystery Machine, were my favourites but I enjoyed seeing them all
I almost died of laughter, thanks for the wonderful selection.
It’s especially funny how the soap box suddenly moved on its own (8:02)
I should feel bad but I don’t 😂. Oh my goodness
"It looks like they've FIN ished" @ 8:10 😂

More like "Lazy Taxi". I'll be here all night!
The FORD testing facilities were doing better than normal... 🤣🤣
I liked the shark people. They seemed to have a good time anyway
How is this NOT an Olympic sport???
Agreed. It's more important.
Current Olympica sports are snooring contests, Olympics should be fun and entertaining

I watched enough of these to know: NEVER use bike wheels.
Just like the classic arcade version of Crazy Taxi which is more like Broken Taxi.
10:28 Gus Fring: 🤣🤣🤣
the first one ate the ground for free
Scooby and the Mystery Machine will always be my choice!
I do love the Brazilian (mouse) in the waxbox race....eh soapbox race💯👍💯

This narrator is funny! 😊
4:35 - editor should have included a clip of Mutley laughing
0:47 DOWN GOES FRAZER!
Quiero participar un dia en ésto 😂
mystery machine
When some contestants learn that rolling and steering are basic design parameters.
Próximamente en Perú 23 de noviembre 2024 jajaja yo voy a participar así que yo me estoy preparando para los golpes jajaja 😂😂
7:10 hahaha
At least someone strapped their helmet on properly so it actually helps.

I have to wonder, did these people take the time to even test these creations by at least sitting on them?
if you use bicycle wheels and forks ,you need a lot of rake
i think good to see in 60fps
So the ones that failed to even roll down the ramp: Do these people really spend all that time building a soap box racer without climbing in and pushing it 10 feet on flat ground?
Did all these people skip physics and shop class at the same time?
If they spent some thought and time for the build they mite just make it down the ramp.
Still racing today? Is there a web sight?
bike wheels seem only good for bikes. wagon wheels around 200mm or great diameter work better. I think around 12in/300mm diameter maybe even better.
Why do they always put the small wheel in the front?
How many died on this kind of race?
How come sometimes it's 1 person sometimes 2?
" the titanic in 1912 was better
In stark contrast, that was built fantastically and worked perfectly, it just had a massive stroke of horrible luck
Rear-wheel steering? Really?? 😆
They never tested these before?
We did better aged 9. But how? We were only 9.
What in The Little Rascals is this
Testing should be mandatory before a race.
hell no lol
Seeing whether the ride that you threw together with your friends will make it to the finish line in one piece is like half the fun for the people who build these
Who’s Velma?
No surprise the women's soapbox wouldn't even roll past the start line
Nacho libre is gay like jack black what did they expect
@3:40 guy lays there like "........sheeeit"
