Omg I remember those sticky af strawberry 🍓 lipglosses 🤣🙌🏽 I was born in 1970 and started experimenting with makeup in ‘82 and those lipglosses were everywhere 🤣

Fig milk (also known as juice, sap, and latex) is the milky stuff that comes off the top of a fig when you pick it from the fig tree branch (my parents have a few fig trees at home).

That Maybelline may have been the first long ware lipstick I ever tried, it was either that or maybe something by L'Oreal... It was definitely a drugstore brand that had the two steps

Great video, really informative and enjoyed the history very much! I remember using the Lip Cote over my red lipstick in the early 2000’s, you definitely couldn’t touch it up after and it did start to peel after a few hours. Still it was better than nothing though 😂 I will definitely have to check out Jolie Beauty as that purple shade looks fantastic 💜 also I love your eye makeup in this video, beautiful peacock vibes x

Loved hearing the history of lipstick! Really fascinating! I remember those roller ball lipglosses from the 70’s. They were the first lip product I ever tried I think. You have some great ‘interesting’ shades. I love the LASplash Classic Horror lipsticks. I have 6 of those. If you want another black liquid lipstick option then check out Lunar Beauty 🖤

Really intresting travel through times about lipstick and lip color.
Had those strawberry ones too. Plus we sometimes had a certain nivea cream to get very pale lips.
Myself prefer lipgloss nowadays, but else I mostly use liquid lipsticks.

I didn't even wear lipstick for years because I knew I would get drunk and kiss on someone 😹 non transfer liquid lipsticks were the best thing ever when I first discovered them 😹

Lip Potion! Blast from the past there. I remember them so well. Lol! I have quite a few liquid lipsticks from Black Moon Cosmetics. They are probably my favorite company for liquid lipstick and they have so many different goth type colors. Love your makeup! It’s always perfect! 🖤🦇🖤

I haven’t tried out Jolie yet, but I did score some VE Cosmetics matte black that you mentioned in a previous vid, and I have been thrilled and completely satisfied with the results. I’m gonna have to see how Jolie compares (their price point is a little eyebrow raising!).
There is a Sale on Jolie beauty now! Their palettes have 30% off and the lipsticks are cheaper too!😁💄
Please pay by PayPal because they have ripped me off by not posting my order and not responded to any of my emails and tweets. I've had 2 good orders from them but please be aware that they might do that to you too... The lipsticks are alright but for me rub off really fast in the inside lip so you get the bum hole look..
He Who Shall Not Be Named really does have THE BEST liquid lipstick formula! I have yet to find any good replacements, sadly. I've tried a few different ones but most of them are so dry that they crack and crumble off, whereas some just don't have very good staying power. Desperately looking for alternatives to You Know Who's products but no luck so far, especially since I want both the excellent quality as well as the interesting shade range. Best I've managed so far is Pretty Zombie Cosmetics, I've got two of their lip shades and I liked them a lot so I'm looking to buy more, though sadly the availability is limited in Europe and I don't want to pay expensive shipping and customs fees to buy from the US.
I feel your pain! There really is nothing that can touch him....if only we could persuade Beauty Bay to get more Indie Brands!!!
Good morning Jane, lipstick, lipgloss, lip oils and balms are an obsession of mine, tbh I have more than I “need”, but I just can’t help myself ✨💄💃🏻💋✨ I have my grandmother’s gold plated lipstick box from the 1940’s , she died 7wks after I was born and she did get to hold me a couple times before she went, didn’t mean to be a downer, it’s just amazing how people used to and still do, treasure our lipstick cases 🥰🤗 I love makeup history, brilliant video 🙌🏽🤗🥰✨💄💃🏻💋✨

I got my first proper black lipstick for Xmas 2020 and I love it , it’s way outside my comfort zone, I usually don’t do anything outside of nudes or reds or berry colors for my lips. My black lipstick is from Glam Goth Beauty and she’s got some gorgeous reds too ✨🖤💄💃🏻💋♥️✨

As a vegan, you’re cracking me up. 😂😂 Urban Decay Vice lipsticks are gorgeous vegan options as well. 😉 I highly recommend UD “69” in cream….it’s an old Hollywood true red. It’s fabulous
And now the UD’s vice colors are vegan! New formula, dangerous for a lipstick addict like me lol

I too had the strawberry roll on gloss!! Didn't last long on the lips , lip coate, memories of that too peeling off. The sting when you put it on. So drying my lips would shrivel up!!
I still use a lipstick case with a mirror inside. Very cheap on eBay for a pack of 4. I pop hair clips inside just in case!

I did find some of that strawberry roll gloss cheap in a market stall last year. I bought it for Nostalgia.
Never again, it's like having chip pan grease on your lips. Another memory. Mom cooking chips in the chip pan, using the same oil for weeks! 😳😂 X

Hiya Jane, thanks so very much for the distraction! I’m beside myself w/ sadness as our little boy cat somehow got out & has been lost since Wednesday. My heart is broken, we got him as Calliope (calico) was grieving badly when our Westie (&her BFF) died Jan ‘19. She became John Lee Hookat’s mumma immediately & is wailing missing him. I really needed this as I’m exhausted, going out at all hours looking for our sweet (massive) not yet 2 yr old boy. Have you had problems w/ La Splash drying & becoming glue like? I got a bunch when they 1st launched & the colours are fantastic, but un-wearable. He who shall not be named (should we just call him Voldemort?) really does the absolute best liquid lipsticks🙁. You should try KVD “Vampira”, got it the lipstick & it lasts forever, such a deep bloody red. Love your makeup today & the insert was fantastic! I look like shite from crying all week, think I managed once to put makeup on🙁. Off to put up more fliers (getting calls from people looking, so kind) & 🤞🙏🏼 he’ll be back within a few days as the weather is warming. Wish me luck! Great video, people don’t realise the nasty stuff in non-vegan makeup- oh & I recall those roll on glosses, pots of shimmery gloss as well, all fruity scented! It is great seeing your collection and how many we have in common too. Do you buy mostly online or in the high street? I’ve never seen the LA Splash horror lipstick, wow!
Recently I was told by someone to stop wearing green, blue or black lipstick they are unflattering! Haha! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 I bought a pumpkin orange one last Autumn I bet that is unflattering too but that’s not really the point.

Hello there new Amanda! I mainly buy on the high street if I can but lately I am resorting to online more and more. People use the word "unflattering" about lipstick when they mean "unusual and exciting" !!

Love this video! Thank you for the history lesson that was very interesting. I’ve got three of the kvd lip veils and a few of their liquid lipsticks. I wanted to tell you my favorite black and hell a few colors are from black moon cosmetics. Sanguis is my favorite red they have. You should check them out. Plus, the lipsticks smell like vanilla or cake. They last really well unless you eat greasy food. I found pizza wore off the inner lip area. 🖤🖤🖤

Forgot to write this on Sunday...what a stunning look again, the feathers in your hair are perfect. If more people walked around in such colorful make-up in the streets it would be so much more fun. I was inspired to buy some extra makeup but my eyes turned totally red from it - which has happened before. Does anyone know about eye-makeup for extremely sensitive eyes? Liebe Grüße 💜
Thank you Susanne, what a lovely compliment! Did your eyeballs turn red or was it the skin of your eyelids being stained? I often get staining but it doesn't last very long. 💜💜💜
@@purplejanew Thank you so much Jane for answering. Actually, it is the 'inner eyelid', but also the white parts of the eyeball turn red. Even when I was younger it got red as soon as some kind of make-up got inside my eyes and they start to water and then it all smears and it gets messy. I guess that's why I never bothered too much with make-up. But then I see people like you with this absolutely gorgeous stunning look 💘that I really wish I could look like that just once
without my eyes acting all up. Someone said it might be that I am allergic to the preservatives in makeup. I avoid perfumes too. Has that never happened to you? And what kind of eyeliner that you or anyone have/has ever used is the 'mildest'? I might give it another try. Lieber Grüße 💜
