Really good info here. I did not know about the 2 nails or 1 screw fastening the balusters on a guardrail. I will definitely add that to my comment section and keep an eye out.

Just updated my smoke alarms and doubled up on the 2 different technologies while I wait for the old ones too expire but I didn't know about needing a carbon monoxide alarm! Thanks!

The way they have the baluster in the video Is fine, but a lot of the times you'll see them install from the outside of the deck. In which case, they rely solely on the fastener to keep them safe.

Question, for 2018 IRC is a fresh air system required?

@@PPG1967 Fresh air system for the entire house. I hear that if you have SPF insulation you have to have it. If you have regular insulation it is still best to have it but not required-its that true? But is it required by code. Some of the videos I have watched are old so I didn't know what is required to meet 2018 IRC. Thank you for replying btw.

Normally, fresh air is coming in with your HVAC system.

Energy efficienty certificate posted along with duct leakage report is commonly overlooked. I see alot of builders who forget to insulate their attic access covers as well. Rails and guards. Egress window wells needs guards if within 3 feet of walking surface and meet ladder requirements.

Railing at deck should be 42" and able to withstand a 200 pound point load in all directions, no?

42" for a commercial guardrail. This is a residential video.
