    This has been the most DIRECT, PRACTICAL, HONEST, SINCERE, TRUSTFUL, and CLEAR review I have seen about this HumminGuru cleaner... and I've been watching hundreds of them in the last 3 days.

    Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. My humminguru is arriving today and I'm excited to get to work cleaning some of my older albums. You've earned a subscriber!

    Nice, that looks real slick. Has a very nice small foot print as well. Thanks for the fantastic review.

    Great review! Probably the best and most practical video I've seen on this cleaner. I'm glad you didn't spend half the video taking about alcoholic beverages. 😑

    Have one and love it! You don’t need a $3000 machine to get good results. Use my spin clean to pre-clean. I’d recommend using a surfactant to reduce surface tension to allow the water into the groves. Great review!

    • @goldenvinylspin
      @goldenvinylspin  Год назад +1

      That's a great idea to use the spin clean first. 👌

      Spin Clean is way too much work for just a pre-clean- I'd rather just do a quick wet scrub with a Mofi brush.

      @@Matasky2010 too much work? Really/ I use my Spin Cleans at my store to clean 25-50 LPs per day.

    first time viewer. love how you just tell it like it is. love how you didn't do the unboxing thing. appreciate your common sense asides -- about fingerprints, etc. -- and your explanation of how it's made for home users vs record store owners. plus, as an added bonus, you're in canada (where i wish i could be). cheers!

    The best review on this thing I’ve seen. Definitely needs more views. Still
    debating the humminguru. 549 usd on Amazon before tax with the attachments. Hmmm.

    Excellent video of a fine piece of kit. I did my own review, comparing the Humminguru with my vac cleaning machine. It's on my channel. However, I didn't cover the cleanliness angle the way you did here, and that was super-useful. Good job.

    Good review! I built a vinyl vac system to use before the guru, so far so good. Cleaned circa 200 records so far.

      I think this is the best advice for everyone. Pre-clean before using. Maybe even just use the ultra sonic to just rinse.

      @@goldenvinylspin Pre-clean with what device? Watched your entire video. Thanks for the honest review. 62 yo from the SF Bay Area. Peace

    • @goldenvinylspin

      No device to pre-clean. Just lint free cloth to lay the album on and wet brush clean the album to remove fingerprints and visible dirt. Ultra sonic cleaning is use to remove dirt and dust in the record grooves that you can not see with the eye but can hear it while playing.

    Got mine! Cleaned about 20 lps so far and it seems to work great… haven’t noticed much left behind dirt or dirty filters mind you I don’t buy thrift store records if I did I would give them a pre wash!

    What DSP do you use to filter out the clicks and pops on your vinyl?

    I also have this great machine.
    My process is like doing a little pre-clean with a anti dust brush to get rid of the really heavy gunk and also a little pre-wash with a record cleaning spray. After that I do 1-2 five minute cycles per record but I let them clean on the air. I actually use the water to clean 7-10 records like this before I change it with fresh destilled water (combined with 30ml alcohol and a drop of surfacant) the results are astonishing compared to brush and spray cleaning alone. Most records sound like new if they weren't already heavily played and have no physical scratches already

    • @goldenvinylspin
      @goldenvinylspin  Год назад

      Just use a link free cloth and use the tool that comes with it. Wrap the tool in the cloth and slide it in to clean it out

    I use it for cleaning, using Tergikleen, and rinse using my VPI RCM with distilled water.

    Don’t buy the ultrasonic that he’s representing. I’ve had one son clean 100 records. It took many many minutes to get them dry in the machine and it doesn’t flush the fluid from the record surface. Bad idea need a freshwater tank. Doesn’t have that 80% of the LPs plays the 20% you have to change the wheels. It’s a pain in the ass you get what you get for $400 for $250. You can get an ultrasonic that’ll do four records at a 304 stainless steel cavity five year warranty on the ultrasonic machine itself And does a great job and then I put in a freshwater distilled and then I put it on my back and that dries it perfectly and sucks everything out and the album is 100% perfect stop trying to save money just that works and there’s a competition to them. That’s $10 less that’s identical, anyhow remember it’s life and death. It’s a hobby again and you can spend thousands and thousands of dollars on this hobby and I was able to inform you of some facts. These are all actual about 2500 LP starting back in the early 60s when I was involved in rock ‘n’ roll business, good luck

    I own a Vevor that has lasted me a year and it works like a champ. All for 200 dollars. I have almost 5000 albums in my collections and cleaning 8 albums at a time is a must. If your worried about longevity,You can purchase 5 of the Vevor's for the price of one HumminGuru. Case closed...

    • @goldenvinylspin
      @goldenvinylspin  10 месяцев назад

      Case just reopened. Vevor recording cleaners are $270.99. HumminGuru is $759.00. You only can get 2 with some money left over. Not 5. Don't want to mislead my followers.

    The US cost is $489, which is about $660 cdn, not sure why it would cost $799 cdn on Amazon- maybe a 3rd party seller..

      I just got my Guru and use their surfactant as well. You can see the bubbles bouncing around, and the records are bone dry after 5 minutes. But you still need to deep clean dirty LPs with 2 different stages.

  • @Matasky2010
    @Matasky2010 Год назад

    Everybody should at least wipe a dirty record with a wet microfiber cloth to get all the surface debris off before putting in any machine, keeps the filters+machine clean longer.
