Great to see these classics running despite the conditions!! Its just panels, nuts and bolts and assorted hardware at the end of the day! All the competitors earn an honest living and deserve to race when they like under conditions that they choose
Such rare beasts, to take them out in those conditions is utter madness. A new surface and rain do not mix. I guess when you're a millionaire, the cars take second place to ego and brains.
@@stuarthynes6136 If one is a write off, then that is one more that has vanished. You see you're one of these people who call themselves as car nut, but have never owned anything of note. I have owned pretty much every car on the track, from XB coupes, a 302 Fairmont and a Blue and white JGS, I used to wreck Torana's for a living. Later in life I had a 67 Cougar and 71 Mach 1. Owning such gems somehow gives you a sense of responsibility for conserving the past. You clearly don't have that, as I doubt you own anything of note, a KIA doesn't count.
@kikurass322 from xa gt to z900s mate, and back then a write off was 2 panels damage. Now some cars are rebuilt from basically a glove box lid. Friends dad had wrecking yard in mid late 70s to 80s.. don't be too quick to ASSume sunshine.. kickurass🤣🤣🤣
@kikurass322 currently drive an au tickford 6 manual ute with 170k.. 230 hp is the same as my old v8 from 70s.. my brother in law has a cougar, my sister has an old Ford truck hotrod.. I'm not a wanker that likes seeing cars wrecked smartass, I just like seeing them. But kudos for the gossie.. had a lime green superbird for a few months.. 302 was getting tired so I traded it..
@@stuarthynes6136 You cite a fucking Kwaka as a car? I had a Z1000, never saw me mention that. You're a fuck wit mate, I'd love to see this so called XA GT you owned. Unlike you, some of my cars are on YT. You cite 2 vehicles, one is not even a car, I was right you're a grandiose pretentious wanker trying to look like something you're not. You are NO enthusiast, just a bum dropping "XA GT" Fuck off you little 12 year old and stop talking about daddy's cars. Fucking MORON!
woo! driving in the rain with rare/classic cars is awesome. too many ppl treat them like show cars, they are meant to be driven. Why spend $100,00-$300,000 (maybe more) on a car that's just gunna sit and not be used, if that's the case, don't get one. the whole point of getting a car like these is to drive them. and in conditions like this a drivers skill is put to the test, with that much power under your foot and such low grip do to the rain, its a challenge and a test of skill. wish i could do this

I'm surprised they even started the race.
Race starts 4:00
The amount of work and money you put in to preparing a race car then go out in this crap.. no thanks i value my beast to much...
GRIFFS REARMOUNT TURBO, The Modfather a
Highly agree, not easy to find spare body parts for these cars, shouldn't of started the race at all
This is not a race. It's a challenge to finish the race in one piece. Racers should have all said no.
Thanks 👍

Racing as they used too..
Would rather see them on track in any conditions as they used too, driven not stored away.

I was a flag marshal that weekend, down the back straight. Horrible weather and sight to see. Shouldn't have raced
