  • It's that time of the year! Temperatures have dropped, the bugs are gone, and it's time to clean up inside the cabin before the winter. I'll go through the cabin and clean it out thoroughly in preparation for the upcoming season. Once spring/early summer rolls around I'll do it all again. In the spring I plan to do a bit more to the cabin in hopes of increasing it's lifespan. Thanks to all who watch! God bless!

Very cozy, and good show of technique with the axe for kindling. Good to see that the bear has not been back.

Sure is nice to see you taking care of the old cabin. There is a saying from my Alaska fishing days that goes like this: "A ship shape boat is a nice boat". Doesn't matter how old it is, or how fancy. If it's ship shape, it is sure to please. Your cabin is the same way. You're a good man, Kusk.

Nice to show the work that goes into having a cabin - the responsibility to keep it in tip-top shape. Unrelated to the hunting, trapping and fishing, but chopping and stacking wood, cleaning the cabin, fixing the "soon-to-be-skinning" shed - all that stuff. Perhaps arduous and boring, but it makes a camp so much better! Great work!

Work, no matter the location, if it's not one thing it's another. A home in town or remote in the wild, gotta do it if you plan on using it. I used to "borrow" a friends cabin in the southern Rockies for a few weeks, one day was set aside for cleaning and repairing, that was the payment for using...worked out great for me. Nice to see you taking care of business so the rest of the season is comfortable and safe. Love the wood stove, mine is an old Schrader, heats my home like a champ. Great video showing the "not so glamorous" side of off grid living. Stay safe, stay vigilant, God bless.

Love the setup of the wood stove in the middle of your cabin. I bet it warms things up nicely. On another note you sure need to cut steps into the river bank or build yourself a set. Either way will make it safer and easier to access your water.
