I have been a fan of anime for a while and has only recently stumbled on the term "darkness" but if I am getting it right is it like the room where you have goods/merchandise whether its your own bedroom, closet/storage or an actual separate room that nobody sees hence darkness.
If it’s just simple goods it doesn’t count yet as darkness. There are several situations where darkness is used. One is used for a very embarrassing past like a chuunibyou past like in that one anime. One is used for goods be it figures, books or anything else of a certain genre or of a certain character that you absolutely don’t want to show others. Both of those, are things you want to keep away from other to keep it in the darkness. The first one is also known as ones kuro rekishi ones dark history.
Ohh I see yes it's does make sense thanks. I guess I prefer this "darkness" compared to the westernized definition which refers mostly to VERY bad things. So now I can't be an edgelord and talk about being dark in Japan LOL
