With the FFP rules and all that jazz. All teams are looking at ways to maximize profits on game days. And expansions to stadiums is one way. More people in = more money in. From tickets to the F&B even the merch from club shops will bring in that extra. Plus if the stadium is chosen it could also host concerts. and other events too.

lets be honest the stadium is a dump and needed serious renovation. That new stand looks pretty good but against the other 3 stands overall its a little lackluster. Will Crystal Palace still play at Selhurst Park when the work is being done?

Why they dont move to Crystal Palace Park, Selhurst Park is a hundred years old and degraded, even Old Trafford, home ground of Man Clownited is in ruining
The club tried. Too many NIMBYs around the area and too much council resistance. Would have taken a decade of expensive planning permission battles just to get an answer and it would probably have been a 'no.' But the club might move there one day, when the locals see the sense of what is a run down track area being turned into something useful.
The ironic thing is , they’ve taken forever to even get a spade in the ground and if they get relegated they won’t need it , championship stadium at best .
