Lived there 1977-1979. Worked at Lee's Texaco on Florida Ave. Then worked at Hemet Casting. Lived at 40566 Poppy Dr. Nothing looks like it did in the 70's. It was a much better place back then. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Amazing fact: hemet/San jacinto has lots of trees and parkland. The hydraulic water capture system is very good and allows for good greening of city all year. There are farms to the west of the city and many parts of city still have rural character. Far east hemet next to where the mts begin is actually good for families due to being a bible belt. It is not a prosperous city however and lots of impoverished folks, retirees. Sections along Florida st are rather seedy
Not only the hometown of _One Tree Hill_ (2003-12) star James Lafferty (b. 1985), but also where the truck heist scene from the first edition of _The Fast and the Furious_ (2001) took place (Domenigoni Parkway). I've been doing research on this town for 16 years, since my third semester of community college back in 2007, even saving locations in Google Maps as some characters of mine are from here, so it's a great tool for research and creative writing practice! Keep up the good work. -DFW
My Grandparents use to live in Hemet in the 60's/70's, that is when it was a small town. I doubt it is today.

You’re welcome, I’m sure it’s very different from the past.

I lived in Hemet from 1966 to 1971. It is a very different town. I didn't recognize a thing.
