    I had a twilight sedation a few weeks ago and I DID NOT remember a single thing. I remember talking to a nurse and then I blinked and woke up back in my bed, high on the pharmaceuticals they had me on (that was awesome tbh). Overall it was pretty great, no pain and no memory.

    Thank you for this video 🙏🏽. I was so scared about awareness while they work on me. I truly don’t want to see, hear or feel a thing.

    Twilight sedation is a gift.. never felt iv in... I was able to communicate with the dentist and him with me. So easy. I had top teeth pulled and bottoms deep cleaned.

    Dec13, 2018 I’m having a total knee replacement and they said I’ll be getting twilight Anastasia plus a spinal. Can’t wait to get it over with.

    While I cannot comment on the experience of intravenous sedation for other more invasive surgical procedures performed elsewhere, our patients undergoing eyelid and facial surgery have a very pleasant experience from this and this is borne out in the very consistent positive feedback we have received about this from our patients over the course of the last 2 decades. This is thanks to the high degree of skill and experience of our consultant anaesthetic colleagues who provide the sedation. Many of our patients have researched this before visiting our clinic and request this form of anaesthesia in preference to a general anaesthetic. Our patients who have had 'twilight anaesthesia' and who return for additional surgery at a later date always request the same sedation.

    I just had a procedure done today to remove my chalazions and they said they would put me under complete general anesthesia at first, then a twilight sedation during the procedure. Well I fell asleep instantly and remember NOTHING. I wasn't conscious at all for it. So I'm wondering if you can be completely unconscious anyway for a twilight sedation?

      Generally twilight you’re fully under as well. The main difference is the amount of drug cocktail given and breathing support and general anesthesia requires a licensed anesthesiologist

    I had a few teeth pulled a few years ago by a Dentist who did this via IV Sedation. There was no anaesthesist present but it was in a hospital.
    Was this less like to be twilight sedation?
    I have an operation shortly on my nose with an anaesthetist present with sedation does this mean it will be twilight?

    Twilight is insane. I had twilight and while I can't remember most of it I couldn't help but fight the staff while under. What I can remember is pressure, scratching, etc. Just go general.

    What specific drug they use?

    • @mrdavman13
      @mrdavman13 Год назад

      Generally a mix of a few drugs, they can pick from. Midazolam, fentanyl, nitrous oxide, and ketamine. They choose those drugs because they can quickly end easily be reversed

      I recently went under twilight sedation for my wisdom teeth surgery and I don't recall any of it. No pain and no experience memorized. It was like a deep nap but I was a little unbalanced and silly for an hour afterwards. Maybe it's different for other people, but for me I didn't notice any difference between twilight anesthesia and general anesthesia (I had that with intensive foot surgery over a decade ago).

      @@GranukeGamingProductions I got a wisdom tooth pulled last week and my experience was mostly the same. Only difference is that a few seconds in the sedation (when you get light headed just before blacking out), I totally felt the local anesthetic injections and they were not very pleasant let me tell you. But they saw that and I guess sedated me a little more, so afterward it was just like sleeping. I'd say I preferred that to my experience with general anesthesia honestly. General anesthesia feels like I passed out (like from dehydration or something) while twilight anesthesia felt more like a very heavy sleep.

      I was twilighted for a colonoscopy. I don’t remember anything about it, but apparently I didn’t shut up the entire procedure. I’m hoping I didn’t say anything really bad. I’m about to have another procedure and again will be twilighted. My biggest concern is running my mouth. Lol

    • @UHFStation1

      I had an upper GI so hopefully I wasn't able to talk. A doctor friend told me if people start talking they get more anesthesia. I assume that wasn't true for you.
