As a lover of late 60s pop, Make Me An Island was the first Joe Dolan that caught my attention and its a great song!
Just loved watching this tribute to Joe Dolan as I haven’t seen it before. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly 15years. Still sadly missed. R.I.P. 🙏💗💙⭐️😇xx
I got to know Joe over a ten year period when I lived in Mullingar and is all I can say about him was that he was a brilliant guy and gave everything he had in a performance. Joe and the band used to do a concert in the Beehive on the Delvin Rd. about 6 miles outside Mullingar and we had the best of nights there. He was a great Mullingar man as was his brother Vincent who lived in Canada. The other two brothers that I knew were Paddy and Ben who were a different story. His mother used to have a sweet shop in Mount St. Mullingar and Joe started work as a printers devil at the Westmeath Examiner at a very young age with Miss Mee in full control.
