The Black 4.25 extends the dust cover out to the end of the slide and it has a rail. Previous 4.25 didn't have that. The Black looks very cool with that addition. Time to get another Emissary.

Think I’d opt for the new example in cerakote black. It looks like you can use it more without worrying too much about scratches on the highly polished slide.

Love the 5 inch 2 tone one Dan, it's a shame they used a plastic trigger. I would rather have the same profile but alloy with 3 holes in it.😊

Every time I hear a RUclipsr talk about the outdated or simply dead 1911, I chuckle. Thank you for this look at the new Springfield model. Now, let me tell you why I really like YOUR videos: First, they are your work, not collected from manufacturers advertising. Then, YOU appear in the video giving your take on a firearm in your possession. You include pertinent information and range footage. I seriously question the source of so many channels which are nothing but collected adverts and dialogue read from those same adverts. I have said it before, but I have purchased a few firearms on your say so, and have not been disappointed. Thanks for being real, Dan.

This isn’t meant to be mean and I also could care less what anybody does. Its the fact all these guntubers act like they are doing “reviews” but the reality is its just modern day commercials. Ask yourself the next time you watch any “review”, when was the last time they said anything really negative about a product?

I really like my Emissary. I have the commander size in 45. It doesn’t have the rail, which I prefer for a carry pistol. It shoots extremely well. The sights have become my favorite. My finish shows wear on the high spots, as I carry it often, but it looks even cooler to me now. It’s heavy, but it handles serious loads with ease. Thanks for the video.

What are your thoughts on the black Emissary 4.25” in 9mm vs 45 acp? Which would you choose?

I’d do a high polish on the entire gun and then get it DLC coated and leave the barrel polished stainless steel. Maybe polish the trigger and the grip screws too. That commander length is my favorite because of the full length rail. It’s just more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. Nice guns, Boss 👍🏻👍🏻
I know this comment a month late but a buddy at work ordered one and came in today at our ffl, he’s gonna let me keep it for a few days, put some rounds through it and give it a good cleaning for him, lookin forward to it, I think my next is gonna be the Springfield Operator in 9mm, as is the Emissary, don’t have a 1911 with a rail, Operator couple hundred bucks cheaper, anyway another entertaining video and as always, all the best!
I bought this in all black 4.25 9mm and it is a jam a matic. I have 300 rounds of quality ammo run through it and it seems to be getting better keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
How would you compare this new Emissary to the BUL 1911? Similar price points. I’m considering both.

One major question.
Look at the barrel and guide rod end your new 4.25” black emissary. It’s nice and fully enclosed. Now look at the end of your 5”. See the hole between the barrel and guide rod? Why can’t all models be fully enclosed like the 4.25”?

I've been rather "meh" when it comes to Springfield (I dislike my XD, which reminds me I have to go sell or trade it in on something else.) For the price, I'd pick up a CZ Shadow 2, but I must say that the two Emissary models look nice. I like the look of the full-sized two tone you showed, but I thought it was a stainless steel variant. Missed a chance to buy the older 5in model in 9mm for 800 bucks, lgs ran a one day sale 😅. Like the 4.25 for sure but I’m more interested in the TRP shorty. Btw when are we getting a Beretta GTS review? Nobody has done one yet.

I sold my emissary to buy a second TRP. Just wasn't for my and mostly because of the slide being simultaneously too slick and too aggressive. The TRP is where it's at for me

No optic cut or threaded barrels man these companies need to get in the 20 century that’s why I haven’t got a 1911 so much money for little features that are missing 😔💯 if does have them they sell at ridiculously high prices

It looks like an amazing gun, but it doesn’t have an ambidextrous safety! As a lefty I’m worried I’ll never find a 1911 that I like. I just feel like with modern manufacturing., for MSRP, they should’ve been able to include an ambidextrous thumb safety

Teh Emmiary. Definitely worth considering....maybe over the TRP. I mean REALLY the differences are probably indistinguishable in looks and while shooting both. DIfference is in the hiotry a the TRP is asociated with the Professional (which wa made by the custom Shop...which i no more)....TRP has VZ Hydra grips....Emmiary does not....The Emmissary is offered ÈbluedÈ.....TRP an be had in Alu iwth a rounded tail end....not sure i see the rean for the added cot of the TRP....
In the end, civilian owned guns are 'range guns' . :) ONLY// :) No one in their right mind wants to be surprised to suddenly find themelves in their first 'gunfight.....possibly to the death'. ..chances are what can go wrong WILL// Then thereès the AFTER ....IF you survive....against unknown numbers of 'bad guys'....youèll need a good lawyer. GOOD LUCK gtting one at 4:44 am lat minute....and the one you get from your 'Def Ins Co' wil be a Cousin Vinny...heès the only kind that will be there 24.7...heh....youèll be his FIRST case ...
So just ay your prayers and BE GOOD...hoping THAT DAY (or night) never comes (where youèll have to draw yoru gun and shoot another human being...likely plural....heh...harder to do than most of us know....not like in the mvoies. @@TheFirearmGuy Heck Wilson Combat has built an empire on $3000+ 1911s! The 1911 is one of the most popular platforms ever for "high end" builds. The demand is certainly there.
I already tuned mine to 2 lbs I posted a video. 6 lbs is way too much.

The only thing they didn’t do is add an optic cut. I mean it’s 2024 and optics are trending and companies are still not offering new models that are optics ready which is mind boggling. The should have put the echelon optics mounting system on these pistols, or at least shield or holosun k type cut. Still a cool gun non the less. Although Hackathon probably wouldn’t approve of the rail lol

Beautiful gun NOT relevant, that caveman single stack & ridiculous take down method when we have modern take downs like sig p320 or glock
I wouldn't buy one, but it's definitely relevant. If it wasn't, every major manufacturer that isn't European wouldn't be pumping them out like they are.
But does it work? All that doesn't matter if u have to use it in a self defense situation.

I just can't rectify carrying that much gun for that little capacity.
It's a collectible range toy to me.
Every 1911 manufacturer should be offering a Double Stack option for every model.
I think they would find that their sales would spike. And after a while they would find that only people with smallish hands would still be buying Single Stacks, ...and doing so reluctantly.
And now that 2011s are starting to become almost affordable, soon it might be the only way that 1911s can compete in that market.
Plus, the P320 can shoot you by itself. 😂

The whiners are a handful of people who have nothing better to do than bitch! Springfield is absolutely CRUSHING IT - this is the only USA made 1911 manufacturer that has a lifetime warranty and is absolutely dedicated to producing awesome 1911’s. We must and we will support them because no one else cares. Dan Wesson and Colt are effectively Czeck companies, Sig all but gave up on 1911’s, Ruger is ok but not forged, and as an owner of 3 Wilson Combat’s, the customs have lost their minds - repricing last year to start at over $4,000 - no thank you!!! My next $4k will go to Springfield (I just bought the 9mm 5” an hour ago)! Awesome job Springfield!!!!!
