KANYE WEST - YE REACTION/REVIEW (Jungle Beats)

- Kanye West's Ye is a good album, there are many fun, beautiful and sincere moments. But overall, Ye leaves us mostly underwhelmed when we compare the quality of his discography with this body of work. It's not that an artist like Kanye need's to re-create the same sound they used on previous projects - to the contrary, in order to continue to excite, engage and get people like us really falling in love with the music, the boundaries need to be pushed creatively, sonically and conceptually. Upon first listen, we didn't really feel that. Like we said, this isn't a bad album by any stretch, we just don't know if it has the potential to be 'great' like the majority of his discography. Before commenting please hear us explain these thoughts in detail by watching this review.

Interesting Reddit comments that we wanted to share:
"For a 24min album it’s not very dense. It’s structured like a regular 50-60min album and it bothers me.
Look at the timestamps of the first verse on each track:
YE
2:20, 0:00, 0:43, 0:26, 0:36, 1:00, 1:09
DAYTONA
0:00, 0:03, 0:11, 0:12, 0:05, 0:14, 0:09
(Ghost Town was a little ambiguous so went with the timestamp of Cudi’s first words)
Having the first verse start late in the song doesn’t have to be a bad thing, but I just don’t think it’s compatible when you’re hitting an album in the 20-25min range. It works for Push for the same reasons I don’t think it works for Kanye. there’s not enough time for intro skits and constant build ups.
Daytona was like doing a 20min sprint. Ye was like taking a water break every 5min.
Also, there’s the fact that even if only two tracks aren’t immaculate from start to finish...that’s almost a third of the album already. What scares me is that my initial reaction is a little apathetic, which has never been the case for me when a Ye album drops. It just...didn’t feel like an event this time." - JJFresh814
Jungle Beats aspires to be Australia’s plug to the best most prolific and unique hiphop artists in the world. @AlexanderMann & @AlexSandalis host one of Australia's few, and best HipHop podcast shows. Jungle Beats is purely about creatively sharing our love for music and hiphop with energy, positivity and passion. We started this in 2015 with a weekly 1 hour hiphop show on a radio station in Melbourne, Australia and in August 2016 we decided to create Jungle Beats. To us, Australia doesn't have a strong hiphop identity within culture. Who do you think of when you think hiphop in Australia? Most think of 99 people OUTSIDE of this country. Maybe we can change that in some small way and push it forward. Jungle Beats is not what either of us focus the majority of our time on. Working on Jungle Beats Media is side hustle of ours, so it’s not going to be perfect. It’s gonna be messy, haphazard and we’re gonna fuck up. But that’s music and we love it. Thank you for choosing to supporting us.

The random laser guns during Ghostown was because they were singing “we’re still the kids we used to be” and the lasers were a sample of an old video game from Kanye’s favorite game as a kid
Ohhhh...that’s actually cool
you have no idea how hard I smiled when I read this
turbografx 16
chur ricardo THANK YOU FINALLY SOMEONE REALIZED WHAT THIS ALBUM IS. PUSHA GAVE US KING PUSH HE JUST CHANGED THE NAME. KANYE GAVE US TURBO GRAFX 16 HE JUST RENAMED IT YE.
Turbografx 16
Ghosttown is my favorite track tbh, it had a combination of all of his discography, the beginning sample was like College Dropout, when Cudi and Kanye sing its 808s, the ending vocals is like lost in the world in MBDTF, the distorted drums with the singing at the end is Yeezus, joy and maximum production of Graduation, and the simple beat that stayed through the whole track reminds me of Late Registration
Carlos H my favorite track is the final track, but Ghost Town is objectively the best track here. Probably the best coming of age track since some of Kendrick’s tracks on GKMC and MGMT’s first 3 singles that got them noticed.
The thing is Cudi sounded so bad on this, it makes the track worse
Yeah Cudi was pretty bad on this - A. Mann
You reachin more than Watching The Throne lmao
Ghost town is like the best track on YE
I think it's the weakest structurally & for the feature. It needed to be all Kanye for me to feel that way. - A. Mann
Kid Cudi on that track was purposely a bit off key, u can hear that one note where he doesnt go to the note ur expecting and I don't believe this is kid cudi being trash, I see it as being very painful and bringing out the seriousness and hurtfullness of the lyrics. I feel like you have to be emotionally in the right mood for that track. The first time through I felt a bit similar, but the more i listened, the more deeper it got and i realized how great it was.
I mean
"I've been tryin' to make you love me
But everything I try just takes you further from me
"
Is super deep and everyone has been through a similar situation. It is a really painful and heart wrenching feeling that isn't supposed to be happy and nice, things are wrong, hence the wrong note.
Edit: He is almost talking and longingly asking rather than singing. It's like a desperate cry.
I believe you can still express pain in away that's pleasing to the ear and in key, just how I feel - A. Mann
"Ghost Town" was originally supposed to be on Kids See Ghosts (the KidYe album), which is probably why it sounds like it doesn't fit. He traded it out with a song called "Extacy" that may end up on Kids See Ghosts. Just adding a little bit of context as to why that song may seem out of place in reference to the rest of the album. It's from a different mind state/album (one we should be hearing this Friday 06/08/18).
@@JungleBeatsRadio bro the album is about bipolar disorder. There's intense highs and sluggish lows. Ghost town is the manic explosion of feeling in Ye
Me personally, ghost town is some of the realest shit. My top 3 tracks are the first one, the last one, and ghost town.
How tf did you guys not like Ghost Town lol
I mean, we do explain as to why.
Jungle Beats still don’t get it though lol
That's all good, just glad others are loving his art ❤️
Prepare for the Ghost Town fans to attack lol
We ready but we stick by our opinions thus far 😊
Jungle Beats good on you guys, it ain't genuine unless you stand for your beliefs
Exactly, on my 2nd listen now with solitude & a good view - A. Mann
I'm a black American, but these dudes are my favorite reaction pros. The fact that they clearly know hip hop culture, and music art & are not American, gives their perspective more credibility as a pure artistic critique, not clouded by biases of American audiences where we have allegiances to certain regions, sounds, artists etc that creep into the reactions & reviews. Salute
This means a lot to us, thank you so much for your kind words, music is our passion and we hope to better others with what we can apply to our vidios as much as to entertain. All love.
Agreed. A raw reaction to the music is dope.
Straight up. You guys and Lost in Vegas are 2 of the best reaction channels for music. I feel it when you two feel the music lol 😂 Also, I appreciate that you guys listen to a wide span of different music, but I feel like you should do a little more, maybe outside of hip-hop/r&b.
We plan to do a lot more in the future, such as Kamasi Washington's upcoming album & a surprise new series we'll be starting 😊
Awesome. Kamasi Washington is the Coltrane of this generation. Severely under rated musician.
Coming back to this album again 4 years later honestly makes me believe this is one of Kanye’s best sounding and most personal albums. But much like you guy’s in this reaction review I felt very underwhelmed when I first listened to it too, it really took some time to digest to truly understand the feelings and emotions Kanye was trying to portray with these few songs. While you can feel joy listening to the beauty in the songs this is a really sad and mellow album made to reflect on all the crazy mental feelings we have bouncing around our brain and how these moods effect the people around us. Anyone who struggles mentally really can feel that and connect with many things Kanye is saying on this album, so it takes my 2nd personal favorite behind TLOP.
My first listen felt underwhelming as well, when you listen to it a second and third time the album becomes so much better it blew my mind lol the third listen felt like what the first listen should’ve been
Imma trust you and dive in a few more times - A. Mann
Jungle Beats
What do you think of it now?
Great reactions and analyses as always. I appreciate you guys being completely honest in your reviews. I think Ghost Town was the favorite song on the album by most people , but you guys expressed your own views and opinions freely.
I knew I was going to at least like this album but i didn't expect to love it this much. I love this as much as 808s. (808s is my favorite Kanye album by the way for personal reasons) and I think this album is perfect even with its imperfections. It's such a loving imperfect album and that's what makes me love it so much. Kanye's lyrics weren't perfect but they were the right amount of introspective. I don't think it would truly deserve a 10 but I would give it a 10. Because it's messy scatter brained and a little sloppy. But every decision seems so intentional I think it's perfect. This to me is a perfect Kanye album. This to me is what Kanye was trying to make Life Of Pablo but it never all the way connected with me even though I really liked that album because it grew on me, but I hated it initially. With this though I loved it immediately because I feel he perfected his 808s sound and mixed it with every thing he's done after that. (Mbdtf, Yeezus, and TLOP) I FUCKING LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ALBUM. It's his most stripped back yet grand album today since 808s and most personal to me. Talking about his wife, daughter, friends, and other people important to him, and his own personal thoughts. I wouldn't call it conscious but not deaf to whats around him either. This is my new favorite Kanye album and my AOTY.
Edit: Also Kanye didn't use auto really on his voice except for a couple vocoders once or twice. He sang his heart out and it worked without the autotune. And I'm not a Kid Cudi fan but I even loved his appearance and I'm a huge 070 Shake fan because of the work she did with Trippie and Forever Anti-pop. She's finally blew up and I'm happy.
I'm so glad you loved this Swami, you seem so happy! 808s is my favourite Yeezy album too! - A. Mann
Jungle Beats Yeah, it was a positive album. And I guess I was just so happy Kanye was happy despite everything else. I didn't think musically he'd give an album like that again or hits me in the same way.
Positive and honest album. I like how kanye can be modestly introspective but still have fun. It is a very kanye album lol. What makes him and his music so inspiring is how different he is and how confident he is about that. And he always keeps that same energy in his music. I thought the album was great too but could’ve been a few minutes longer. I don’t like my albums less than 30 minutes lol. Probably my only initial complaint.
Frank Wave I love shorter albums so this was perfect. I feel like make your projects as long as necessary. Two albums that were really long in length that I loved though was Sean Leon's album I think I've Gone Mad and Post Malone's new album Beerbongs and Bentleys.
I was really on the fence first listen. Mostly because it was not what I was expecting/wanting. def gets better after multiple listens
Sonically, It’s a win for music history- Van Morrison meets Jim Morrison, situated over Hendrix with the spirit of Nina if they were to be trapped in an arcade game.
It was sincere- of the moment (literally there were lyrics responding to things that happened on Tuesday), but he needed to spend more time ruminating on the music before just going into the booth and spitting a verse. It’s win for GOOD either way. It’s an 8/10 for Kanye’s metric but in regards to other albums out here (mainstream) it’s a 10/10. RIP mumble rap.
Ghost town is like the best song on it lol yall opinion though
Thanks for understanding, as long as we mention as to why we don't dig something then we justified ❤️
The "wayy back" is from Big Seans "blessings" and the lyric you heard at the beginning was his rebuttal to Drake dissing him and Pusha, "How you gonna hate when we go wayy back". He also dissed on "No Mistakes" by sayig "Truth told, I like you / Truth told, too bold to type you / Too rich to fight you / Calm down, you light skin!". The album has highs and lows because that's what bi-polar is like. I think this was a more of an introspective album with the purpose of blending previous album sounds together. This album definitely grows on you, i was underwhelmed first but after a few listens and dissecting it's easily became an album i see myself playing in full on repeat.
Gonna need to give it more time - A. Mann
I think it’s gonna grow on you guys more and once people start dissecting it more we are gonna appreciate it a lot more
Already listened to it a couple times and it’s already grown on me. When you can max out the volume in your car you hear more. - Alexander Sandalis
Personally this my favourite Kanye album, no mistakes is one of my favourite tracks of the year and the album as a whole just sounds amazing
Lmao this guys... Ghost Town is one of the best songs of all time and it helped launch the career of 070 Shake, just see how it aged. You didn't catch it on release
Y'all missing the point of the record.
What’s the point of it to you?
Music shouldn't have a single interoperable meaning. It's what people pull and value from it people aren't the same and that's what makes art beautiful.
Tha Swami goddamn. That's a fucking great idea. But, that could be said for any disjointed, confusing, unorganized piece of creative work as an excuse for those very things. Not saying ye is that, cause I personally agree whole heartedly, but, also, yano, that could be said for many albums without a coherent theme.
Kuumba Films I know but I think with Kanye it works specifically with this album.
This is war cry for the kids, it's a mood, it's a feeling of liberation with no expectations or limitations where nothing is off the table and everything is valid. It's 808's. It doesn't have to be perfect, because nothing is. It's a feeling for the youth.
Jus fyi bipolar and split personalties are two very different things. No hate, i know mental illness is very hard to understand
Thanks for the clarification, we can word things badly, mental.health can be a super touchy subject and we thank you for keeping us aware ❤️
I definitely understand you guys, and on the first listen the album was really underwhelming, but by the third listen, with the context of his inner demons and a lyric sheet in hand, I really came to love this project and respect Kanye that much more as an artist.
I honestly think Ghost Town is up there with Runaway, Ultralight Beam, and Homecoming as the best songs Kanye has ever created.
I don't think its Kanye' s best album, but it definitely is the realest and most vulnerable we've seen Kanye, and I definitely commend him.
More listens and lyrics, thank you, I plan to 😊 - A. Mann
I fucking love you guys at Jungle Beats
This guy always so funny when he starts dancing 😂😂😂 subscribed
Sandy is the best dancer 😂 - A. Mann
Ok but how did u hate ghost town tho.
Shit was so emotional and good
what makes that song so good is the young and care free feeling. i think thats our best bet on how Kids See Ghost will sound.
thats what im saying i feel like kid cudi did that to his voice on purpose to add that unsettle emotion to bleed into kanye vocals but i get what their saying they may not like how it sounds we all pick up things differently
Thank you for understanding our feelings, and remember, this is a first listen, out thoughts could change.
This album requires multiple listens to fully appreciate it. I would love if you guys revisited this after a week or so.
We'd like to I feel after some time - A. Mann
How could you not like Ghost Town it was probably the best track, Shake's part was amazing
Just wasn't feeling it at all.
Really interesting way you react and like not only listen to it but have a discussion about it and what it mean, i fucks with this
Thank you, we strive to be different and always be honest to ourselves. Much love.
8:50 when u said awakening and enlightnening, your hands glowed from the sun, LMAOO
We radiant yo
I have a theory that each song on the album can be a representation of a different solo album in his career(7 songs = 7 past albums). Idk which song goes with which album, but I bet there’s something there.
To be honest. That’s a reach. But it’s music. We suppose to reach.
Jungle Beats I’ve seen something about this actually. It was on Reddit, and they had it set up like this:
1. I Thought About Killing You - 808s
2. Yikes - Yeezus
3. All Mine - TLOP
4. Wouldn’t Leave - LR
5. No Mistake - Graduation
6. Ghost Town - MBDTF
7. Violent Crimes - CD
I agree with it to a degree
PlayHousePro idk yikes sounded like that nikes diss a lot the flow and the beat
you heard about how kanye scrapped the whole album and started again after what happened at TMZ? thats a pretty big reason as to why its underdeveloped. i rlly love this album because i rlly fw the headspace kanye is in right now about just being genuine and being open with your thoughts but not acting like youre above others for having them. but i do think it couldve used some more development of its ideas
Yep, just commented about it on our social media. Would've loved to hear what he was working on before. Felt like he rushed it just to hit a deadline.
“The fuck was that?” Umm fucking amazing?
I like the production a lot but this felt like just a sample of Kanye's life to me. I needed more than 7 songs like I need an interlude with some church chorus or acapella poetry from Chance or something man. I feel like mine and Sandalis' inner hypebeasts died a little with this album
Yeah I got mad chance vibes with the album - A. Mann
WHITE BOY WAS OFF BEAT TO EVERY SONG THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE VIDEO
Lol you the goat for that one 😂
While I still liked listening to "ye", it's definitely not my favorite Kanye project. IMO viewing this as an album leaves you a bit disappointed but if you look at this album as an experimental EP or mixtape then it might be easier to appreciate.
Luis Gomez the problem is most people think albums should be an hour long. But if you study music history albums used to be 7-10 tracks and were around 30-40 minutes long. But before The was a skip button the WHOLE album had to be good if you bought it lol, these days kids will get a drake album and it has 17 songs and if hey like 8 songs out of 17 they’ll say it was a good album.
Stannis Baratheon I can definitely agree with that. However, my main reason for looking at this album as an EP/mixtape is because IMO, the tracks on this album feel like random tracks that were bundled together. I think one could argue that these tracks have a lot in common in terms of theme or lyrics, but musically it feels like they were made to be individual tracks or ideas and not to be views under the same umbrella, if that makes any sense haha.
I think it musically fit to well. If you put the last few songs with the first, they are vastly different, but there is a clear transition toward the middle. I think it fits together greatly. I loved the album and the production was phenomenal but I found the lyrics to generally be a bit lacking and it was a bit short.
Bruh I knew the guy on the left wasn't listening when he said he didn't pick up that Violent Crimes was talking about his daughters, like that is actually impossible to miss unless you don't listen to the lyrics lmao
It's the way my mind works, it's really hard for me to pick up lyrics, I have really bad focus - A. Mann
Shit man now you got me feeling bad haha. I have ADHD so I can relate, shouldn't have came at you bro I get lost listening to the production all the time too.
Yeah I got ADHD so you'll know how I feel 😂 sometimes I can focus but then sometimes I just can't, it's all good man I know you didn't mean anything bad by it, it's all love ❤️ - A. Mann
What an amazing album tbh. You appreciate it a lot more the more u listen to it
After 5 more listens my appreciation grew a lot more for the intro but that's about it unfortunately - A. Mann
I love looking back on the youtubers react to ghost town and hate it... literally the best song on the album and it isnt close. One of the best of the decade. Probably one of my favorite all time.
When the vid is longer than the album
good vid, threw yall a like, but damn ghost town is a top 2 kanye song for me
Glad you're enjoying ghost town and thank you for the kind words ❤️
I haven't seen anyone catch the 2C-B and DMT references at all besides this reaction. I think it's kind of interesting that someone with multiple personalities and mental issues is talking about taking these intense substances. They're often used to help heal emotional trauma and become more in touch with nature, the universe, and the self, but can also cause terrifying experiences that can cause PTSD. I think it might explain a lot of his recent behavior, his recent media outbursts and such, also might be a reason he feels so much more open on this album, because he had an intense eye-opening experience. I listen to too much JRE.
I thought about JRE as soon as I read this. I watch nearly every one nowadays. But IF he's taken a substance like DMT (doubtful but probably) from what I've heard if someone who has a lot of emotional trauma and previous mental illness can interact with these drugs in a vastly different way compared to someone who is of a sound mind. If Ye has done substances like it I'm sure he's had his share of bad trips. Just an assumption though.
The recent Michael Pollan episode of JRE was really interesting, I picked up the guys book about psychedelics. It seems like these substances are coming more and more into the mainstream now. Maybe they could be legalized soon, I mean Kanye is close to Trump, when he started to befriend him in the media he boosted Trump's black approval rating supposedly, that must mean he has some kind of pull right? What are the odds he pulled something off like getting an end to the drug war and a new wave of music and art coming in like the 60s and 70s.
Keep listening to ghost town it’ll grow on you
Imma keep listening, I trust the people. - A. Mann
UPDATE: Apparently Ye re-did the the whole album after the TMZ interview the other month. So that confirms the discussion we had at 30:30 about Ye having a different concept to the album previously. Makes sense why we felt it was underdeveloped and underwhelming. Really would love to hear what he WAS planning to release.
Jungle Beats but it perfect for people who struggle with bipolar disorder you have to open your mind to get a full understanding
how yall not mention the Russell simmons got "me tooed" line like what? there's alot of positives on this record
Mostly as I don't get lyrics much at all on a first listen, my brain is weird and needs a lot of listens for lyrics to really sink in - A. Mann
Ghost Town is legend!!!
Did not like this on the first listen, but it's already growing on me. Think this one needs some time to appreciate. Though I agree it's still a *bit* underwhelming compared to his other albums.
I couldn’t disagree with this review anymore, but I respect your opinion. Ghost town is a top 10 kanye song imo, 070 shake sounded amazing, it’s not his best album but it’s most definitely not his worst. It’s great but not perfect. Maybe you guys will like it more after a few listens, who knows?
Yeah I gotta give it more listens, thank you for respecting our thoughts ❤️ - A. Mann
This man is killing drake on this album
those mountains are the tetons. best mountain range in the US❤️ you guys are awesome tho. keep it up.
Ty ❤️
I don't agree at allllll about ghost town. That song is by far my favorite on the album. I love the way all the different sounds come together to form a very unique track. It is very sonically pleasing, and 070s part at the end was beautiful with the electric guitar, I get a rock vibe from it. Only thing I really don't like about that track is Cudi with the terrible vocals on "I try" and the ray gun sounds...? Tf? I imagine if you give it some time you'll warm up to it. I just discovered you guys, I am now a huge fan!
Yeah I can see myself warming to shake but not to Cudi or weird sounds, you put it perfectly! - A. Mann
when you guys played "wouldn't leave" and started explaining man the air got so thin n shit you could literally cut it with a knife.
btw it was jeremih on that song, pnd was at the start though
Ahh thank you!
Jungle Beats np bros
That’s the beauty of music every one see it different and that’s fine. GHOST TOWN was the best for me it hit me some way idk but overall Ye was complete it had everything u need from Kanye I feel
I'm so glad you're loving ghost town, maybe we will too soon ❤️
This video is longer than the album lol
Haha we had a lot of thoughts on this. Hopefully y’all enjoy the different perspectives.
Easily Kanye's greatest work musically
Eh, I disagree - A. Mann
ok bet
12:47
...
If you know you know?
Daytona>Ye
Can you react to Black Thought's new project called "Streams of Thought Vol.1"? Its 5 tracks and produced by 9th Wonder
Oh shit black thought dropped something? I'll see if we can get on it.
yea man his first solo project. Hopefully you guys can!
Been wondering for a while what the JungleBoys think of Matt Corby? seeing as you're from Aus I've heard he's pretty big there and I love his music so what do you guys think about him?
Honestly never heard him before, except on triple J every now and then - A. Mann
Jungle Beats Would be dope if y'all did a "First reaction" thing for him like you did for Joji! He's not hip-hop but his music is hella good! Either way love the channel, keep up the great breakdowns!
Thanks for the love, if good music stops dropping like rain this June then maybe we'll have time to get to it 😂
HOW the fuck do you think ghost town is bad
Did we not explain it? (Serious)
Ghost Town (and pretty much the whole album for me) is definitely a song that grows on you. I had that exact reaction first time I heard it. It sounded all over the place and left me confused. After a few more listens it's hands down my favorite track off Ye. I still do agree the lasers are a bit much though lol.
Wtf guys, ghost town is by far the best song on the album and is near perfect. Pretty much the whole world agrees on this 😂
Well, not the whole world.
sarcastic comments go over your heads as well it seems.
21:30 it was too much guitar and 070 lyrics werent that great but her singing was dope, and the lasers only came up to show his childhood for a moment, they shoulda tuned cudi and made him repeat his line again at the end to finish it. but in fucking tune boiii
I know right?!? Such a waste for a Cudi feature... - A. Mann
Yikes reminded me of Kendrick
Ghost Town is a best song on this with Yikes. It wasnt at first listen but it will grow on you for sure
070 Shake's part is already classic
You gotta peep Valee too, he just signed to GOOD Music, hes dope
Pretty forgettable release tbh. Found it very underwhelming.
I don't think it's forgettable but I for sure found it underwhelming - A. Mann
Kid Cudi sounds off tune because he's singing in minor against a major chord in the back, but I don't think it's technically pitchy
No matter how people justify Cudi's hook I still don't like it. - A. Mann
Y'all always have the best album reviews
Thank you very much, we do what we love ❤️
To me I took the opening soliloquy as home talking to Jay. Later in the song he says how they went way back and how that guy had the wave cap. So I took it as him replying to what Jay said on 444
Kamal Walters “i hate being bipolar- It’s great”- he’s speaking to himself. Get it? You can’t kill the ego or the maniac state without killing the person/ body the two personalities reside in. You can only suppress the alter ego. “Today I thought about killing you.. but i Love myself way more than I love you”. His love for self outweighs the love he would have of his manic side that he is attempting to kill. It would be a murder suicide if he did it.
The Way back reference was Rhymefest (when I had the braids and you had the waaaavvveee cap.
Desiree Natalia that’s what I thought initially
Desiree Natalia That makes sense, I’ve also heard people say that it’s towards Drake but who knows that’s the cool thing about art is that it’s all up for interpretation
How y’all gonna hate ghost town????
Just how we feel for the mo
Jungle Beats alright
24:48 dark keys? you're talking about the disconance, thats what made it more interesting they use it alot in church organ music this was basically a church gospel song
Might explain the chance vibes I was feeling here - A. Mann
U Guys Probably love Ghost Town part1 by now 💯
Ahhhhh I think Sandy does, I still don't dig it, I'm sorry ☹️ - A. Mann
Lol this is longer than the album
Am I the only one who thinks that TLOP is better than the college dropout and late registration?
No I'm sure many others are right there with you, me personally I prefer the earlier albums but I know peeps that fuck with Pablo more, always hold true to what you feel - A. Mann
@@JungleBeatsRadio idk, I'm just a big fan of weird production and honest, important, almost stream of conscious flows. Maybe that's also why I requested you guys react to the new earl album lol
nah i beg to differ , this is a solid offering from Kanye ...Soulful yet Powerful!
That's ok, as long as you're loving it then that's all that matters ❤️
Ghost Town and violent crimes were the two best tracks to me
Kanye copied Drake's flow on the first track as a subtle diss.
I thought the first song was about the doctor that killed his mother
TLOP was not his best Album.. I believe this was more of the old Ye everyone wanted. It was actually a good album & he spoke about all those issues. What you guys are asking for is an interview. I see what you guys really wanted was him exploring the new sound Ye gave on TLOP & Yeezus... If you are a fan of his first Few albums you will love it... the album explored different areas of his personality... I liked it.. most reviews like it. To the point I’ve seen Men/Women crying... but this was an underwhelming review Bc you guys DON’T/DIDN’T listen to the LYRICS. One of you admitted on your “Daytona Album” review. Your complaints were about sounds which to me were melodic.. but never talk about what each song mean. You even missed the shot at Drake on “No Mistakes.” I noticed that from a few of your vids.. Js ...
This is a totally fair critique- (props to J.Roberts)
As I commented above- It’s a win for music history- Van Morrison meets Jim Morrison, situated over Jimmy with the spirit of Nina and flow of slick rick, if they were to be trapped in an arcade game.
I agree- i think you guys should put on over the ear head phones and listen to it without taking pauses. Pull up the lyrics on your phone and I promise you it’s a sonic field trip. Some of the lyrics were penned in the last 3 days as he was responding to current events which is mind blowing his creative pace. Only one song slaps to be played in a car or over loud speakers like you all were listening to it and that’s Ye. Everything else it’s the background like MBDTF and early Ye that are hauntingly beautiful and emotionally poignant and chilling.
If you guys did the initial reaction video, then did a “we just listened to it on the headphones and pulled up lyrics” snippet, I’d be curious to see if your opinions changed. Respect you guys but I think you guys missed here....
What you got to remember that this is a FIRST LISTEN and everyone soaks music differently, I can't hear lyrics on a first, second or third listen to get them, I have to physically look at them as that's just how my mind works. So if you ever want me to touch lyrically in depth on an album we'd have to do seperate reviews for everything which right now unfortunately we don't have the time for but one day we'd like to revisit a lot of albums. I'm hugely about production so that is what I'm normally always going to lean to, that's just how I am, and you have to understand that music hits people differently on many levels. What you say is true, no denying but I'd just like you to understand as to why we miss so much all the time - A. Mann
Also thanks so much for your honesty & love in trying to help us be the best we can be, we truly appreciate it! ❤️

In regards to "Ghost Town," I wasn't too bothered by Kid Cudi's vocals. Yeah, there was one note that sounded off-key, but I think it's a minor enough problem to let slide. I did have more of a problem with Kanye's vocals, which you guys said were good. Kanye is by no means a naturally talented singer, and in this track it seemed like he was trying way too hard to sing on-pitch. It sounded like he was forcing it out, and his voice sounded quite shaky, and there were a few notes that were off-pitch. Some of his singing in these last few albums he's worked on has been questionable to say the least, but I have no qualms with any of his singing in the album "Kids See Ghosts." Seems like both Kanye and Kid Cudi worked a bit more diligently on their vocal recordings for that album.
Thanks for your thoughts, I've personally been loving yeezys singing, there's just something about it that hits my heart real good - A. Mann
Ghosttown is perfect
fiiirst
2:08 ey tank top tiger i can appreciate a one punch reference lol
I liked how you explained the overall album.👌👌👌👍👍👍
Thank you! We do our best, glad you enjoyed it ❤️
I personally thought Ghost Town was great but the laser sounds were unnecessary. Also, Ghost Town was originally on the Kids See Ghost tracklist if you see one of Ye's videos on Twitter but he ended up using it for his album
Josue De La Torre the point of the arcade sounds was to pay homage to the laser tag kid that still lives inside of us and the innocence. We’re all just ghost of our child like selves. It’s futuristic like the Jestons as he spit but got a msg like George Jefferson. Wayyyy ahead of our time sonically.
Ghost Town was such a dope track that he had to Hate it. That track reminded me of Beatles / jimi hendrinx, woodstock feel
Honestly comparing it to that makes me scratch my head with wonder but if you hearing that, then I'm glad you feel that way and are inspired by it. - A. Mann
Fuck sleep, I'm on this!!!

Yeah true. But it's an unreleased leak. Beautiful song though. I really like it. - Alexander Sandalis
i think cudi is meant to sound like that - the anguish. ghost towns great
People are saying that, and even if that's intended, I firmly believe you could still be on tune or sing differently to get the same anguish across. - A. Mann
Zayn is that you?
Yes.
