@@hknulzesnulnegen I can understand that! For me it is a kind of hobby to try different high end phones after a year of release, trade them in after a while and get another one. That's giving me a lot of pleasure.
Not from what I've read on some reviews, it depends on the sellers... Was looking into getting another Pixel 6 Pro and saw many reviews where the seller would not even honor the 30 day return policy... I'm staying off backmarket I'm not gonna buy off them, I've bought my renewed phones from Amazon and I've never had an issue with any.
@@j_s0n That's why you need to read reviews and even then Backmarket will check to be sure that you're not getting played. Seller can't just refuse returns without good reasons. If they did they'd have negative ratings and they'd be dropped. You were also trying to buy a Google pixel and the 6 and 7 had too many hardware issues, some that even appeared out of nowhere and the sellers may not be ok accepting them back. I know this because I bought a pixel 7 pro in like new condition, had been opened and tried but not kept and used by the original owner. I bought it from eBay refurbished sellers, and eBay is well known for having scammers and denying refunds but I trusted the rating and warranty. It arrived and I noticed a dark circle in the top corner of the screen while setting up the device. I reached out to the seller and they responded before moving it up to eBay. They accepted the return and before I did that I did a search and found out that far too many people had similar issues with the pixel 6 and 7. Overheating, freezing, rebooting, screen bleeds that wouldn't be there when they went to sleep but were there when they woke up. Even carriers, Best buy and other sellers refused certain returns for that reason. They'd sell a phone new or refurbished and we'll inspected, sell it then bad hardware fails without a reason. Some of course are just shady and hope to fool people. Others are aware of this issur with the pixel pro 6 and 7 and try to compromise. I also know this because I was proposed a partial refund to keep the device but I wasn't accepting 20%.
I have the Pixel 8 pro and it's amazing I highly recommend it. I had the regular Pixel 6 and 7 really good experience. Once you do get a good Pixel 7 pro I think you are really good to enjoy it thanks for the video keep up the good work
2nd bad story I've heard about back market today. they don't seem to verify that what they're selling functionally works. they seem to care about aesthetics more - what they sell as "Fair" condition would be "very good" on like walmart or amazon. so their stuff looks very clean but it's like they don't test for functionality which completely defeats the purpose.
Dude, I gotta say you are doing a great job on the channel. You have great production quality. I hope you can try the pixel again, I love my Pixel 6 Pro! Ive had really good luck with Amazon refurbished, maybe give that a shot?
I've had mixed experiences with back market too but to me their customer service is still second to none and returns are super easy. Pro tip, if you buy a device in said condition and you receive it in a "lesser grade" (i.e. bought in "excellent" but receive it in "good" or "fair"), you can message their customer service, they'll ask for some pics and even go as far as offer to refund the difference, I've gotten between $30-$50 back just from this alone. And on top of that, if you still aren't happy, you can still return it even after all that lol.
The same happened with a Z Fold 3 that I purchased from Amazon. The phone was in pristine condition but I could not activate the phone due to the ESN probably never being whitelisted from the 3rd party store I bought the phone through.. it pained me having to send that phone back.
Was thinking about buying this one to test it out, however seeing this I remember how quickly I got bored with my regular Pixel 7 when it came out and owning it for a little while. Will stick with my S23 Ultra for sure
I have a pixel 7 (non pro). It struggles a little with 5G connectivity but 4G connection and calls are flawless. Also never heard about pixels having a bad ESN
I'm still thinking about getting the 8 now that they have dropped in price. I don't know why I can't get a good 7 Pro just to test for a few months. Camera was so good.
@@ColoTech383 Yes, with the idea that I'll get dBrand skins to customize the back. Bought the skins, and never used them more than a day because they kept ungluing...
could you not just do an exchange? yeah you got a faulty product, that just means they either give you a full refund or exchange the product like for like.
I’ve gotten two phones off of Back Market and it was a good experience both times you can send this phone back and you’ll get your money back. That’s one thing about that service. They’re really good with that, but you definitely got a phone that I would send back. It’s a bummer.
I have a pixel 7 pro. Great phone still but it heats up while on video calls. Well i also live in a very hot country so i dont think that helps the phone either. Will wait for the pixel 9 or 10 pro before i upgrade.
Good review and video editing I just found your video trying to get this exact phone lol. It sucks that you actually couldn't keep it but its not your fault. I like phones and I love the stock Android more than Samsung's. I've had iPhones, Samsung's, LG, HTC and now am a Google Pixel user/fan. Many people have said that it is like the Apple version of Android, I agree it's a good way to put it for people to understand lol. Stock android IMO is the best, the UI is clean, smooth, fluid, gets all the updates before any other Android phone, now that they make their own hardware and software since android has been owned by Google since 2005 I love the pixel line up even more. My first Pixel phone was the 2 XL, the camera was amazing and still is to this day I still have it lol. At the time it was the best camera on a Smartphone and was way ahead of the competition, I think it was the first phone to have night photography and still took amazing low light photos. I remember it being MKBHD's favorite new phone at the time too.
Having a bad ESN likely means someone got the phone on installments then turned around and sold it to Backmarket because they wanted to get rid of it. Definitely a shady move on their part to knowingly buy a phone with a bad ESN and then turn around and sell it without including that in the listing. I never bought a phone from Backmarket because it sounds too close to black market lol 😂
I have one. Mine is unlocked. Same storage. Barely used. Well taken care of, I still have the box and cord. I take excellent care of my phones. So much so that I would wipe it down every day because of COVID.😂 I actually took the gold coating off. It's now silver metallic 🤷🏽 I'd sell you mine.
