- This yellow peril Hoover Junior Deluxe dates from 1979 and is a rough diamond at the moment, but with a bit of spit and polish, new brushes, belt and possibly motor bearings, she should clean up quite well.

I know, I suddenly just came back to it.
We had an identical one for a few years until my dad got a Turbopower and compact as retirement presents from Hoover.
I've had the green and white one - looking at this I prefer the orange!!!!

Thanks for this video Roger! Looks like the first ever version of America’s Hoover Elite with the side-ways facing fan chamber aligned as the handle axle. It’s strange that Hoover UK did not simply add two cord hooks high up on the handle which would have been more user friendly - as Panasonic was offering at the time.

That's in pretty rough condition inside. I was hoping from the outside the inside would follow suit. I would say of course not to trash the body, but it could use a whole rework. The care is going to exceed the unit price alone.
9:37 Steel wool or a wire brush scrubbing on both the brushroll and the soleplate. then hit it with high gloss black spray paint and if the metal on the soleplate doesnt reveal its shine, chrome paint for that piece. Easy fix.
11:00 plastic welding will fix the broken wheel mount. rummage through the trash and find a similar plastic to the vacuum's plastic, cut off a piece roughly the shape needed to fix the wheel mount, then start repairing with the plastic iron and some meld sticks and should do it up good. When and if someone ever lists a spare base, then you can replace the entire base, but the repair will be good enough as a permanent temporary fix.
roger did you look under the vaccum cleaner cos when you turned it on and tilted it back the belt was there but hand off.
How does this compare to turbo power junior.

What a moronic packaging job! The seller must have been six pints deep at the time. As for the machine…I suppose spares would be in order to furnish your other pristine junior deluxe. I’m not usually a fan of yellow vacuums…but the somewhat ‘mustard tone’ of this one is intoxicatingly smart. I am indeed envious. But being from Utah, USA, that is a fleeting pipe dream.
Never say never. You can find foreign vacuums easily - however - getting them here to the USA cheaply is the problem. Gotta have deep pockets. It will run you $80 -$120 for shipping alone.
