"Love never lets a person be the same. When love arises, all wisdom disappears." - Pure truth.
02:14 Carrie is a maniac? NO... Because a part of her feels bad for the pain and torture he was put through. She recognizes the fact that he served his country dutifully until his capture, and that he really was subjected to inhumane treatment. He was subjected to it for years at a stretch. This is bound to leave even the strongest of men psychologically scarred for life. In Brody’s case he was broken and Abu Nazir took advantage of his psychological state and groomed him into a terrorist.
Thankfully Brody did not blow up the suicide vest, and listened to his daughter, which highlights the fact that there is still some humanity left in him. It shows the audience that he’s not a cold-blooded killer but rather a misguided and emotionally damaged man who just needs to be brought back on the right path. Carrie sees this, and as a result feels sympathy for him.
Brody: “This was love. You and me.”
    Carrie: “But it’s not goodbye.”
    Brody: “Okay”
    Carrie: “You don’t believe me?”
Brody: “However it hurts the least.”
Carrie: “Oh my God, why do I feel like this?”
Brody: “Because you gave it up to me.”
    Carrie: “Completely.”
    Brody: “Goodbye love”
    Beautiful analysis on Brody :)
He is not a terrorist. He is a person with a broken spirit. They broke his mind, yes, but he was also a victim of "destiny" or fate. He fell in love with Issa. This broke his heart.
Nicholas Brody is Dorothy's 3 companions: he lost his heart with the death of Issa (Tin-Man), he lost his mind (after 8 years torture and redemption) and he lost his soul with his actions (Lion).
00:48 Brody: "i liked you Carrie" Carrie: " i LOVED YOU"
Killing people isn't a solution... well nothing justifies the Vice President for killing all those innocent children either, an eye for a eye.
This VP was Actually an asshole I am not saying assholes deserve to die but Brody was a true man compare to him. I am glad this show contains such controversy as killing civilians while chasing terrorists and also breaking civil rights and even human rights. There is never Just an evil and good in War (there is an exception Nazis, fascists, communists and imperial ''nazi'' Japan who were true and pure evil) Now nowadays the situation is way more complicated.

I had a mix of feelings regarding this season, I thought the beginning of the season was inferior to the previous seasons, but the final episodes paid off a lot.
I thought the plot involving Dana was unnecessary, she tried to kill herself and ran away with a boyfriend she met at the clinic where she was hospitalized, until I understand the question, she revolted with her father, because she believed he was responsible for the attack to the CIA, unfortunately they gave a very big focus to the character, which ended up not being so interesting.
It's amazing how much Claire Danes can overcome each season, her acting is really believable, she really makes us believe in Carrie's bipolarity. I was disgusted when Saul told the press about her bipolarity and her involvement with Brody, which culminated in her being hospitalized again, as she had stopped taking her medication.
It was distressing to see Brody in Caracas, all the difficulties he went through in trying to escape and all the suffering he had to survive.
I found the plot about Javadi interesting, the fact that he financed the attack on the CIA and was laundering money from his own country, so he became a spy for the CIA to stay alive and collaborate with the plan to kill Akbari, an Iranian leader. back from Brody, being part of the mission to kill Akbari, the character needed redemption for everything he had been through and for being accused of the attack on the CIA, and even his death was justified, since he died as a hero and maybe that get Dana to forgive him for everything that happened (even if she no longer appears on the show, the feeling is that he would deserve family forgiveness).
Even though I was saddened by his death, I think the character fulfilled his role within the series and the star painted by Carrie at the memorial symbolizing Brody was a tribute and a very goodbye for him. I believe that next season will be very interesting, with the question of Carrie being working in Kabul and having a daughter Franny, and the question remains as to what she will do in relation to motherhood, since she is achieving what she wants professionally, and does not know how to act in relation to your personal life.
I have expectations that the next season will be even better and more engaging.
The scene where Carrie... Making a star on the honoree's wall is incredibly sad, a farewell to everything she went through with Brody, a "thank you", even if discreet and silent.
We have seen that the character only grows, she is by far one of the most complex and interesting characters we have ever seen.

Agree, the first half of season 3 was not great, but the second half was quite good, especially the last few episodes. I recently rewatched Homeland and I like the first half a little bit more now as I was able to pay more attention to the plot and understood it more.

I was thinking of maybe giving it another chance, but if Bobby Axelrod won't be present until the end, I don't see the point anymore.
