Kinda like when you're at a job and your days are numbered and you're in lame duck status with nothing to lose. I'm kinda in that situation at the moment actually.
There's just something about the general feel of Late Nite . It had a wimsy in those early days..,a kind of magic all it's own that never missed being special every night it was on. He never disappointed!
Joad Breslin -- I see what happened: there's _another_ kite in one of the three "space" montages that spells "Late Night." I was the one who was sloppy, and I apologize.
Joad Breslin They did. I was hoping to put up all of the main opening montages this weekend, but it hasn't happened yet. More importantly, I'm relieved and grateful you saw my post. I was too hot-headed and stubborn with you. I can offer up some excuses, but none would justify my behavior. Thank you for not following my path tonight. You're a good soul.
Questioning my own sanity as I have NO MEMORY whatsoever of this intro. Did they recycle it from an Anniversary Special? Odd they would change up the montage so close to the end of Late Night's run.
I was in seminary in 1993. Wasting my life with a two bit degree from a two bit school that offered nothing. Should have watched letterman that year. Now I am fifty years old struggling to pay my bills, working three jobs
Man, the Spring of 1993, it was like Dave's last semester of Senior year. He was loose and giddy, and can you blame him?

@@mrchopsticks3 I thought that Dave was on fire during this period, never funnier
Just going to this randomly, and OY, the untro is INSTANT nostalgia.

Larry Bud brilliantly changing up the song, transcribing into a different key lol
Dave is sorely missed.
But Dave is still alive though!😮
Wow. The hair on Dolly Parton. That's crazy.
How do you know it's Friday? David Sanborn on the opening theme.
Great band. Will, Anton, Sid too. Studio legends. I think McGinnis was there until the Letterman exit.
@@stevedrake604 they ALL were
plus it's VM night
12:21 - "They pelted us with rocks and garbage"comes to mind :)
Maybe should've gotten Morley to coach them! :)
Great outer space introduction.
7:36 - Intro to "I"m Free" from "Tommy"

So they had multiple different opening sequences around that time? Anyway, I am glad all is well in the world again. Thanks for the comment.

I liked the jokes in the beginning of the video.
Get my face
Who else thought Chris Elliot was going to stand up when Dave said "Michael J Fox"?
Hey 30 years ago on the day I'm commenting :-p

At least you can catch up on all that TV you missed 🥴
this is the second thursday night episode i watched where both Tina Turner and Kevin Kline were on. What is up with that?
They had the same agent, who only booked them as a pair. (Just kidding. Probably just one of those coincidences in life.)
How many celebrities did Dave introduce in the audience?
On this show, three.
@@dongiller Were they actually in the audience for this show or were they edited and added?
@@lmsxxaaa All of their aired audience cameos had been taped days or weeks earlier during commercial breaks right after they had appeared as guests.
Joking about Jayne Meadows, but Dolly Parton and Michael J. Fox were REALLY there, and just to watch the show...!?
Taped from previous appearances. Part of a show-recurring bit called “Celebrity Audience.”
'Jayne Meadows'
What was the song playing at 16:19? Anybody know?
"Them Changes"

Donald Trump Marla Maples joke
Donald trump? Like the president of the United States?
Back then he was a criminal real-estate developer, long before he became a criminal ex-president.
Is Dave rubbing off on you Don from watching all these clips
