"The Cat Who..." books are wonderful, even now. I'm listening to the series now. I read them the first time through. It's been delightful to revisit these characters.
Thank you for mentioning the Lilian Jackson Braun series! I have had the books for so long , and now you want to make me start! I believe the 1st one is the Cat Who Could Read Backwards
I adore the Miss Fortune series by Jana Deleon and the Stephanie Plum series even if that one is predictable and not consistently great. The Noodle Shop Mysteries sounds like tons of fun, can't wait to give that a go.
I need to get back to the noodle shop, you are spot on with Claudia and her sister. Lou is the best!! I totally got practical magic vibes from the Seaside Cafe “midnight pancakes” .
I also love the Seaside Cafe series and The Noodle Shop series. They are both very enjoyable series. I plan on re-reading the Seaside Cafe at some point and I can't wait for the latest book in The Noodle Shop series. There are so many other cozy mystery series I really enjoy. Some of them are the Magical Cat series by Sofie Kelly, The Second Chance Cat series by Sofie Ryan, The Bookmobile Cat series by Laurie Cass, The Cat in the Stack series by Miranda James, The Grilled Cheese series by Linda Reilly, The Beacon Bakeshop series by Darci Hannah, the Cozy Caper series by Maddie Day (the parrot in this one is delightful especially on audiobook), The Family Skeleton series by Leigh Perry, and An Oregon Honeycomb series by Nancy Coco.
I LOVE the Cat Who series, I didn't know that about the last couple of her books weren't written by her. That would explain the drop in quality! But I absolutely loved those books, they were my first introduction to the cozy mystery.
The Noodle Shop series just became a recent favorite of mine! I like the Booktown mysteries series too by Lorna Barrett but I am so behind on them. The Cupcake series by Jenn McKinlay is a favorite of mine too. Great video!
I like The Noodle Shop series. I’m on book 3 and I love that that the main character is Taiwanese like me. I’m on book 6 of Seaside Cafe and I have one more book to finish the series.
I still haven't been able to bring myself to read the final 2 books in a seaside cafe mysteries. I just know tears will be shed. I'm really looking forward to the new a noodle shop mystery that is coming out. I laughed out loud when you said that about hearing the mom. I can too!! It's great! 😂
I've read at least one book from all of these series except Dumplings and I need to correct that! I love the Bailey Cates series Savannah, magic, and bakery what's not to love!
Enjoyed this video! Have you read The White House Chef Mysteries by Julie Hyzy? Really a cute series. Then there’s The Dekker Series by Steve Demaree. I’m currently reading the Bakers Rise Mysteries by R.A. Hutchins.
Sarah, I have a beautiful picture I think you may love… Im in BC. Can you tell me where I can send it to you? It seems to go along with your love of natural oddities 🙂
I’ve enjoyed the Bookmobile Cat Mysteries by Laurie Cass.

The best series ever!
