Josh Chrome for the win! That alignment shop was #1 in my book! most shops would have given up. 2 thumbs up to all the guys there at that shop!! determination is sweet! shout those guys out a little more! thanks for continuing your videos!
Man, to see those guys spend some time on that alignment is a good sight to see. Too many shops half ass work and don’t stand by it. It’s nice to see some young guys putting in that work to get it right. I can appreciate that for sure
Not to mention they actually let him in the shop and didn’t treat him like a piece of garbage , but the two go hand in hand in my opinion any shop who treats a customer like that especially someone who has experience in the industry usually has something to hide in my experiences .
I enjoyed learning what it takes to get good alignment. . I hope all stays good with RUclips I'd really hate to loose your Chanel your my favorite on RUclips.
Josh I love your channel and your content is awesome! A lot of people edit out their mistakes or they down play screw ups. Your honesty is so great. No matter what you do you’re gonna make mistakes just own them. Thanks for posting another great video!
With the steering wheel being 90* out more than likely your gearbox was not centered when you hooked up the steering shaft. It’s probably 1 full turn out. From the short clip I could see of him adjusting the passenger side tie rod it looked like there were way too many threads showing. I’ve got the exact same setup and there is almost an 1” of threads showing on each side. The steering wheel and pitman arm are both keyed so they only go one way. The input on the gearbox is keyed but it could be out a turn. I’d disconnect the steering shaft, find center on the gear box and hook it back up. If you plan to do any more sled pulling in the future I’d definitely double check that before you do. Love the vids, keep them coming! These are helping me get the motivation back to finish mine!
i like chrome. I am just a bit old school. I can't deal with the giant wheels. just not enough tire for my liking. regardless, love what you are doing man
Couple things about the process i noticed, he mentioned to adjust for the crown of the road with camber, you should never do that, its going to wear tires. If you adjust the caster up to half a degree lower on the driver side it will drive better without wearing tires. Also you dont need to do a rolling comp everytime, a caster swing will re measure everhthing without moving the vehicle. The rolling comp is only neccesary when the head is removed from the wheel, its used to compensate the head being off center of thr wheel or a little sideways. Camber should also have been tipped in, and with the caster lower on the passenger side it will naturally pull that direction, looked like he was fighting it a little in the test drive. Did a decent job though, seems to drive ok
I am wanting to get a nice laser alignment machine for the shop, you can align anything with it. The wheels dont really change alignment difficulty the way the wheels caster and camber is isnt changed by big offsets the alignment process is the same for a vw beetle as it is for a massive jacked up truck with $100 deep dishes
Cool that you come over to my neck of the woods to get work done! Haven't watched your vids in a few weeks but my buddy said you had a video out about cab corner/rockers...gonna have to look that one up as my 2015 LML has a ton of rust on the cab corners, rockers and rear wheel wells
black rims on a white truck is an awesome look. Just bought one a couple of months ago and threw on some black steps and cover and it just looks good. I might be a bit bias though.
Absolutely, half a degree higher caster on the right side to prevent a pull to the right from road crown, never give up camber or you will pay in the end for tires. Looks like he is trying very hard to do a good job for you but again, you can change caster substantially without causing any tire wear. I have specialized in alignments on cars all the way up to class a motorhomes and Peterbuilts for the last 28 years
I had to do locking alignment cams from dirt king on my 09. I had such a hard time keeping alignment even after I replaced the whole front end with mostly kryptonite. No big rim or offset just a 17' with minimal offset. Not the biggest fan of there IFS.
I’m not no certified mechanic but I do a lot of my own work I’ve never done my own alignments But wouldn’t you have to adjust or loosen the tortion keys befor or adjust to!??? Could be why the camber keys where rounded
This is a total side note but I was curious what brand the led strip under the tailgate was on the wide Max and If you’re happy with it I haven’t found one that works
When I bought my 2023 Chevy Duramax diesel, the salesman did not understand why I wanted transport tires versus the very loud off road tires that were put on the truck at the factory. I told him I would not buy the truck until they replace the tires with top of the line Michelin transport tires. After about a 50 mile road test he told me he could not remove the factory installed tires. So I told him I'd would not buy the truck. He suddenly changed from "can't" to "can do" The late model Duramax comes with a 10 speed Allison transmission is a dream to drive long distances. During August and September I put a bit more than 10,000 miles as I visited friends and relatives spread near and far across the country. I was surprised at how comfortable the Chevy 3/4 ton was rolling on the Michelin transport tires. The truck was nearly as quiet and enjoyable to drive as my Hyundai top model Santa Fe.
That's the crap of being a technician. You're on flat rate and or commission, and the front end quoted an alignment for $74.99. 4 or 5 hours in its still $74.99 and you've made $15 for the whole day. Also an hour in and the boss is breathing down your neck because he scheduled more on that rack. People don't realize what this takes.
I personally never understood wheel alignments until i watched this video! Thank you A&D and Josh for sharing the useful information. Now when i bring my truck in for an alignment i have a better understanding. 🫡👍👍
Maybe I just don’t get that whole “ Negative offset / wide as Hell “ wheel & tire thing me not being in your neck of the woods & all….. here in good old Sunny Southern California most lifted trucks here tend to shy away from that look & go with a much more usable setup . I run 17 “ rims with only a slight amount of offset & 35” tires ( used to run 16” with 37’s , but that’s another story) , and I have had zero issues with alignment & drivability. 7” lift front ,& about 4” lift rear for a slight nose higher attitude ( an inch to two inches maybe ) and it goes arrow straight down the highways ( even on longer trips to visit Daughter & Grandkids in Texas ) at speeds of 85 mph & much more . I’m currently running Toyo Open country all terrain tires & they are MUCH quieter than the older setup I used to run ,& I would highly recommend them to anyone. Glad you got your rig ( wife’s , Remember 😏) squared away , & glad to see you continuing to share your Videos with us all . BTW, I voted for the Black rim /tire setup along with your wife all those months ago Josh . As we all know , “ Happy wife , Happy Life “ buddy . 😎👍
Nope, drive it like you plan to run it. If that sucker is gonna chuck a rod it will do it in the first few miles either way. Babying it will cause the rings to never seat and then you get massive blow by. The rear end is probably all I would be worried about if it was rebuilt. Let er eat!
Thanks for the shout out! Its been a pleasure getting to know you over the years. Heres to many more!🎉
If I didn’t live in Canada I’d bring my truck to at guys.
Thanks for your support you guys are awesome
Y’all did a great job glad your local in Michigan near me, hope this video brings you more business as it will bring mine!

Great vid. The guys at the shop were so professional, love seeing that!
Seems like a great shop to get work done. Nice job.
I have twins from HSP, and I can't get them right. I am glad you were able to figure it out.
These guy really made sure the job was done right. Would definitely bring my truck to this shop.

It’s coming along real nice like! I’m a fan of black wheels and blacked out emblems but I think chrome works well with a white paint job.
Higher caster helps prevent speed wobble and caster is always set higher on right side to accommodate for road crown

That truck is a beast! And I personally like the chrome with the purple lug nuts. Looks so good!
BUT...
Do what Mrs TruckMaster wants lolol
We have that same alignment machine
From the Ann Arbor area I will 100% drop by next time I need an alignment
Look forward to meeting!
Man I love your content. Just bought my first duramax a 2013 lml and your videos are beyond helpful

if these guys are this good off cam i will for sure look them up for work if i ever make it up that way
They are 👍
Love watching your builds. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Original tires and wheels on that truck would look a lot better

Def get rid of the wheels an tires. That rubberband tire look is doing that good looking truck a huge dis justice. More rubber sir!!
Go in with stock wheels get it aligned then put the bigger wheels on. If they are balanced right it will drive perfectly.
I had to do locking alignment cams from dirt king on my 09. I had such a hard time keeping alignment even after I replaced the whole front end with mostly kryptonite. No big rim or offset just a 17' with minimal offset. Not the biggest fan of there IFS.

Love the intro to this video!!
Hello Josh. Melanie loved the wheels but not the lug nuts. It's always best to get a professional to align the tires on the Wifemax.
I'm looking at those exact vision wheels for my truck just wondering what you fit on there without a lift

And he uses the new trailer! Today is a big day for everyone 😂😂😂
now you can drag race it at the freedom truck meet in 2024

What size turbo will be a good upgrade to a 06 5.9 cummins. Or what do I need to do to get the best performance out of it

My lifted 2012 1500 silverado drives straight down the road lmao
Great video! Mine was rough to align also. That is what the shop told me. Did you have your aligned to factory specs, or to Kryptonite specs?
Josh, I love the chanel, and that truck is insane! Quick question, pilar gauges or edge CTS3? I have an LB7 that I want to start monitoring.
CTS monitors 👍 less wires and more parameters to check
@@TruckMaster thanks for the comment, i go back and forth so much on this cause i love the look of a gauge but also love that a CTS can do so much!
Hey what what kind of tires are they
Let me get 4 injectors out that scrap engine you got in the garage haha I'm in niles mi
very nice
Cams can get ruined by adjusting while vehicle weight is loaded on them
Plzzz tell me what kind of tires they r !!!
Awesome vid! ❤❤💪💪
How did you mount that CTS on the dash?
I think the spacers are a smidge too wide. I’m sorry buddy, but I think an inch less would be perfect. Especially with that width of tire.
Let that thing break in like you would a new truck don’t just get on it.
Nope, drive it like you plan to run it. If that sucker is gonna chuck a rod it will do it in the first few miles either way. Babying it will cause the rings to never seat and then you get massive blow by. The rear end is probably all I would be worried about if it was rebuilt. Let er eat!
That is perfect advice we need to let the rings set in
Chrome!
👍
Arent the headaches totally worth it when you can dump 50psi and get sideways 😂
Hey man have you done any water meth kits ?
Anyone who does alignments know how much gm trucks blow…
Nothing worse than getting an alignment and having the truck not track straight.
Put fog lights in her
I will
Can’t blame the wifey for wanting the safety…..kinda got Earl to blame for that there mess 💪
W brother
Chromes before blacks any day
I would 100% put a air shutoff on a button for my wife in a 1000whp + truck
Your wife Drive trucks daily life 😮
So what did the alignment cost you
Is your channel back to making money
Yes but it’s still off and on at time but it’s much better now
@@TruckMaster ok so will your RUclips channel keep going
Chrome rims, black rims are for lazy people who don’t want to clean there wheels😅
😂👍
Black wheels for sure
Done? $100k?
I would take 100k for it 😎👍😂
@@TruckMaster since it’s your wife’s ride, I will off her $50k.
Do not care
Of the rims
Paint the truck
