wranglerstar I sat through the whole last half of this video with a smile on my face. Watching you and Jack interact with each other, the love you show flows through the screen. Thank you so much for sharing these moments with us.
Seeing you and your son So happily together almost brings me to tears! you are an awesome dad, and you have an awesome son! Love watching this series and wish both of you the very best from the bottom of my heart! Greetings from germany!
Days like that with Jack or memories that you both will have forever. Great day to watch you guys, play. Blessed in many ways and being blessed on your ways.
i would like to say 3 things 1 i love that you carry i wish we could in Canada 2 you are a great dad not only building a tree house for you son but having him with you and teaching him wile you search for items 3 bring back such great memories of my dad and i doing the same things thank you and keep it up
I'm also Canadian, and I own more firearms than my two Texan Brothers-in-law combined! (neither of them have one even one, but I keep.... an almost adequate number of them). Canada might surprise many Americans who misunderstand our gun laws, for instance when we have a 'restricted' firearms permit, we can buy what would be considered SBR's that Americans would need a tax stamp to get. The downside to that is that we're not allowed to use 'restricted' category firearms anywhere but approved ranges. I also loved that old character hardware store/ 'junk' shop, I could mill about a place like that for hours and come out with things that I didn't even know I needed!
Great installment! I loved going with my Dad and Grandad to lumber yards and hardware stores for project materials when I was young. Lots of things to see and learn.
I never comment but I had to say thanks for plugging the local Habitat ReStore! I am on staff with our local Habitat Affiliate in Chattanooga TN and I can testify to the great resource that our ReStore provides to the community, not to mention our homebuilding for needy families. Thanks for the shoutout, love the channel.
It was always special for me n my dad to go to Lowe's together and have a different project or job every weekend. Didn't realize it at the time but those are very special memories. Theirs nothing like a relationship between a father and his son
During a very trying time in my life, the time spent with young Jack is the best part of this video. Sharing a coke, such a simple act yet a memory made. Good stuff.
God bless you! I can only dream of what it would be like to have a relationship with a father like you Cody, or a father period. You are an incredible gift, Jack is so awesomely blessed! He may not know to thank you for being who you are but I will do it for him and all the rest of us. So thank you sir for you for being the best dad i have personally ever seen!
I don't typically comment on Wranglerstar's videos. But I really enjoyed this one. You guys in the U.S. can really be spoiled some times - What am amazing scrap yard. Was that a store attached to it with all the tool handles etc? What an amazing place. I could easily loose hours and spend hundreds in there.
I wish my father would have had the patience you have as I was growing up I can count on one hand the amount of times he took me to a hardware store most of the time i sat in the truck waiting for him
I was lucky in this regard. My grand father taught me everything he could every chance he got ( every day ) knowledge is the key to life, don't be selfish with it. Spread it when ever you can. If it dies with you, what good were you in the world?
Very sorry to hear that. My father brought me everywhere, taught me things he knew, I was there with him while he was learning doing a little learning of my own. Now that I'm a grown man and live hundreds of miles away, I wish I were back in his shop learning with him. I'm sorry you didn't have the same experiences.
Tyrel Hanson Tyrel, :) Im SOO happy to hear you had a good father...so many wear their effd up childhood as a badge of honor. Props to you and your dad
Cody, I agree with Dan Rogers. Those torsion springs at the super hardware store are for old style rocking chairs. The chair would have a base that sits on the floor. On top of that base would be a set of curved rocker runners. The torsion spring is connected between the curved rocker runner and the base. Excellent work on the tree house. You build things for life like I try to do.
Something special about this video to me, your son with his puppy. I guess I am getting soft in my old age. Next time I make a trip to your neck of the woods I will have to bring my truck and swing by that awesome hardware yard. Take care. Dave
I would like to one day get one of those style Home Depot carts and put all terrain wheels on it to use around the property. I'm glad you decided to consider the fireman pole idea
Great video Cody. I really liked seeing Jack more involved with the projects. Sure the camera angles aren't as good as when you're doing it yourself but I'd be willing to forgo the video quality while Jack learns the trade. I can't wait to work with my boys when they get a little older! Thanks for all the inspiration you give us!
All of your videos make me want to move to Klamath county. Gorgeous piece of the world you live in! Got to visit last summer, truly beautiful landscape.
Cody, I don't always get to comment on your videos. But I always ALWAYS watch them! I am subscribed to hundreds of channels, but I never miss Wranglerstar!! Thanks to Jack for a great laugh today. You told him he would need to earn his tool belt and he said "Or I can just buy my own." God Bless, John
A hardware store an education in itself to the endless possibilities. A salvage yard an education on second chances, hidden gems, and ingenuity. Time spent with ones son there and back priceless memories.
The Home Depot trip made me a bit emotional. Going to school 3000 miles away from home means I only get to see my dad once every six or so months. This brought back good memories of going to the hardware store with my dad, I should probably go give him a call
I think this could be the most special video you have ever posted. So cool to get to do this with your son. Looks like you had an awesome day! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to that place (not home depot).
I have been watching your vids for a little over a year. Sometimes I might not agree with some of the things you say but I would be more concerned if I did with anyone for that matter. Just wanted to say your a good dad. I did not have one around but as long as your staying active together like you seem to be you should be able to look back with fond memories for the both of you. Keep it up pops
I really admire the time you spend with your son you seem like a great father I really wish I had that with my father he will turn out to be a great man one day
Just a quick thought - you know your trap door in the floor giving access (I don't remember what you called it last night when I was watching!) have you considered turning it into a split door so that any lifting rope will pass through them and items being raised open them and they fall shut once the item passes through. This is the method used in windmills where the sails work a winch which is used to raise sacks of grain safely to the cock loft at the top of the mill it is cleaned, milled, sieved and bagged as it falls from floor to floor via various chutes and gravity.
Oh Man, what a great JUNK YARD & Hardware Store!! My wife would not let me get within 500 miles of those places!! I could spend weeks and lots of money I don't have there! Jack was so funny when you asked him about braking the glass and he said he did'nt want to wind up with a window frame! Great stuff! Making memories! Take care, God Bless!
Every few weeks my wife and I go down to Bring Recycle in Springfield. There is always something there to complete a project or start a new one. There is also another store a few blocks away from it full of tools. They literally have wooden barrels full of vintage brace drills.
I believe the thing with the springs on the mounting brackets is a spring assisted door closure (like to automatically return a gate or door to the closed position after you go through it). Awesome hardware store and junk yard!! Wish I had those near me!!
I totally admire you for so many reasons and you made me want to move to the US. BTW, those big pieces of wood around 9:30 look like railroad ties, and are sometimes treated with creosote, a chemical compound used to preserve wood, but can give you cancer. Creosote has a very distinctive smell
That was such a great video I think you are more excited than Jack is on some things about this tree house. I had one as a kid my brother and I built. My father would not buy new lumber or even nails so we straighten nails pulled from used lumber to build it. a word of advise make sure you allow for tree growth and movement in the wind. we were constantly renailing those boards. that puppy also is the cutest. Atree house is a rite of passage for a boy I have great memories from mine. Makes me want to build one for my grandchildren. Keep up the great videos. What is the real name for the mountain (mt Fuji) near your homestead?
Wranglerstar, They are the springs for a rocking chair. Inside the swiveling rocking chairs they allow you to rock forward and back movement. Which account for the creaking sound.
the springs you were wondering about are for reclining chairs that rock to the are used to connect the two bases and allow the to rock but still hold them together tight
That part you picked up with the 2 springs is called a rocker spring. There are 2 of those inside a rocker recliner that actually give you the rocking.
The item you had with the springs that you weren't sure what it was is an isolator, it is used to mount mechanical systems and isolate the vibration so it doesn't resonate through the structure it is mounted on.
In all these treehouse videos I've just been struck with how great of a kid Jack is. He's attentive and interested, but also knows how to listen. And Cody is such a great father to him. Sharing the coke 'that mom won't know about', That's the sort of stuff that sticks with someone forever, sharing a coke at the hardware store with dad.
I grew up with my dad being a builder. The lessons i leanered, the skills but more importantly the memories with my dad are irreplaceable. Jack will remember this for the rest of his life.
That is an awesome hardware store. There is a place like that in my hometown in Texas, but it's all big rig and trailer related. The only thing more amazing than their selection of EVERYTHING is the old man working there who can tell you what every part is and what model/year truck it goes on.
I don't know exactly where you live Cody but it sure seems like you've got a lot of cool places to go where you live I need to do some serious research where I live and find some places like these so wise with your money Great parenting!
I think the thing with the two springs is used on old rocking chairs. They have a stable under struckture that stands still on the flore, whit the roking motion controled by the springs. Try searshing on the web for: Rocking Chair Springs.

Cody, you need to share the location of that Gold mine with your neighbors. I am in central Oregon and would drive a long way to see and shop there. I can't stop drooling just seeing it on the tube.
" Cody's Island" " A three Hour Tour" Hum sounds familiar! For a child to say" I want to be like you when I grow up says alot about how they are being raised! Take care & God Bless!

Sometimes Jack still looks so young, but when he started handling those boards,....well, he's growing up. I am still praying that the Lord will bless you all with another child, great day, great video
I love the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Just found a gently used front door with side-lights and storm door for $265....same exact door at Home Depot was $2700 not including the storm door!
Those are anti-vibration coil spring dampers! They are used in industrial electric motors mounts to reduce vibration going to the ground or other equipment. I've seen those on vibrating conveyors and hoppers.
Seeing Jack helping out with this build it reminds me of when him and the two other boys were building a "fort/cabin" in the woods. What became of that?
The item with the two springs on it is a set of rocking chair springs. That would be mounted on one side of the chair, attaching it to a separate base, and another set of springs would be mounted on the opposite side of the chair.

...and he lives on a pretty big block
Seeing you and your son So happily together almost brings me to tears! you are an awesome dad, and you have an awesome son! Love watching this series and wish both of you the very best from the bottom of my heart!
Greetings from germany!
muh1h1 Same i cant wait to have kids :)
Its a spring that goes under a rocker chair! My dad was in the furniture bis for years!I I grew up working since I could remember! Im 60 now!
Cody, great seeing your interaction with Jack, you and Mrs. Wranglerstar are raising him well. God bless you both.
Days like that with Jack or memories that you both will have forever. Great day to watch you guys, play. Blessed in many ways and being blessed on your ways.

Finally, a Canadian with some common sense.
thank you their are a lot of us and we are trying to change things here

I am drooling looking at this hardware store. I wish I had one like that where I live! So many endless projects could be fueled by such a place!
All of your videos make me want to move to Klamath county. Gorgeous piece of the world you live in! Got to visit last summer, truly beautiful landscape.
That isn't Klamath county, it's Wasco county.
Once again, great music selection. Those are some priceless dad moments. I hope Jack enjoyed the soda.
Cody, I don't always get to comment on your videos. But I always ALWAYS watch them! I am subscribed to hundreds of channels, but I never miss Wranglerstar!! Thanks to Jack for a great laugh today. wish i had places like this to browse through its awesome just to watch you guys looking around.
It's a great video,
You and your son spending time together and learning.
if only there were more hardware stores like that and more junkyards. i could live my life sifting through old steel and all sorts to build stuff.
A hardware store an education in itself to the endless possibilities. A salvage yard an education on second chances, hidden gems, and ingenuity. Time spent with ones son there and back priceless memories.
no matter where you are, you enjoy a wonderful panorama.

great Job Brother on this video I am glad to see that you haven't stopped making videos like you used too fantastic!!!
You cease to amaze me every time... your father and son moments are to die for!
Two kids in the candy store!! Hehe! That's what I'm like in a store like that, I love it!!!
It's so awesome that you are open carrying! I live in WA but haven't had the guts to do it yet.
I have been watching your vids for a little over a year. Sometimes I might not agree with some of the things you say but I would be more concerned if I did with anyone for that matter. What a cool hardware store. I'm new to my area but I need to keep looking for stuff like that because like you, I could do a lot with that stuff!
Jack is indeed very lucky to have a father like you Cody. Nice finds at your stops.
Father and son having a great day out, love it
Best dad ever!!!
I really admire the time you spend with your son you seem like a great father I really wish I had that with my father he will turn out to be a great man one day
It's heart warming to see how much of a champ Jack is growing up to be!
One of the coolest Wranglerstar videos I've watched so far.
And I wish we had hardware stores and junkyards like this in Germany.

The sharing a coke part was my favorite part! That was great. Cant wait to see more. God bless
Beautiful father son moments!!!
Cody, I love how you turn into a kid in a candy store at places like that. It keeps one young! Great video.
That door adds perspective, I pictured a lower ceiling. Awesome!
Love the poke at the metric system!
This man reminds me of my grandfather, he was a carpenter and i loved working with him when i was young.
Wow, I love that metal junk yard. That is awesome!
Every few weeks my wife and I go down to Bring Recycle in Springfield. There is always something there to complete a project or start a new one. There is also another store a few blocks away from it full of tools. They literally have wooden barrels full of vintage brace drills.

Good video. My kids love watching ones with Jack and Gingersnap.

I think I'm going to start taking my camera with me when me and my boys head to the hardware store. These are going to be awesome memories one day.
This one made me smile.
Great vids! From Canada here... I fell on my back at 11:12. "I don't know... thats some nonsense". lmao
looks like good times enjoy and thanks for your work.
Jack NEEDS a fire pole!!! (sandpit underneath)
Ginger snap is awesome!
That is an awesome hardware store. There is a place like that in my hometown in Texas, but it's all big rig and trailer related. The only thing more amazing than their selection of EVERYTHING is the old man working there who can tell you what every part is and what model/year truck it goes on.

Great parenting!
I think the thing with the two springs is used on old rocking chairs. They have a stable under struckture that stands still on the flore, whit the roking motion controled by the springs. Try searshing on the web for: Rocking Chair Springs.
Nice to see you use a Haymaker’s Hitch or Trucker’s Hitch on the doors and windows!
so many ideas of what to make when seeing that store
My grandmother had a rocking chair that did not have traditional rockers. It had a stationary base and springs like what you saw connecting the base to the chair.
I know what those spring bracket things are! They are for reclining chairs, if you take one apart (with the rocking wooden base) You should find four.
OMG I could spend DAYS!!! wondering around a place like that!
Loved the clip at the very end.
Those springs you held up are for a rocking chair. We have the same springs on old chair that belonged to my wife's Grandmother.
Holy smokes, I just realized you guys are in Oregon when I recognized the ReStore. Are you taking applications for locals to come visit Jack's tree house?
Cody, you need to share the location of that Gold mine with your neighbors. I am in central Oregon and would drive a long way to see and shop there. I can't stop drooling just seeing it on the tube.
" Cody's Island" " A three Hour Tour" Hum sounds familiar! For a child to say" I want to be like you when I grow up says alot about how they are being raised! Take care & God Bless!
Tell Jack Paint Color SW 2909 Redwing from Sherwin-Williams for the door. That's the color of the door to my house and it's awesome. I have a grey house with black shutters and the Redwing door makes a nice look.
That sure was some amazing places with all that iron and tools, I would love to be able to visit places like it.
Here in sweden there are no such things...
That is without a doubt the coolest hardware store ever
Sometimes Jack still looks so young, but when he started handling those boards,....well, he's growing up. I am still praying that the Lord will bless you all with another child, great day, great video
What a lucky child you have. The tree house is a labor of love.
Hy nice video like the others :-) the second lenght on your nails is the metric/ european lenght not nonsense...
1 inch is about 2,54 cm - centi meter -
Best wishes from germany
Henning
That hardware store is AMAZING!
