I just started playing the game and it looks like the ally AI is really dumb, I was tanking the 3 armies for the entire match and the pigs was just looking at me doing nothing, not even with the 15k gold I donated him, it couldn´t even kill the soltan.
Pig can be a pretty weird ally on this same mission with me he was getting some pressure on Saladin and while I was killing Saladin not too long after he killed Sultan. On Mission 49 you have 2 Pigs and 3 Richards as opponents meanwhile you have Caliph and Sultan as allies is extremely agressive to the point of I had to delay one of my sieges since it was bullying so hard to Sultan and I wanted to keep all my allies alive

Do AI allies ever help you out by attacking enemies when you request?.
Yeah but only if they have an army to attack
