As the gates open on Wednesday to this year's Glastonbury festival on Wednesday, we follow the first group of festivalgoers, down a rocky trail and to the 'holy grail' of camping spots: Pennard Hill. Ayesha Patel, 25, a first-time festivalgoer from Birmingham, Daniel Keane, 25, and Luke Bugler, 26, stayed overnight outside the Glastonbury festival entrance to ensure their pick of the best camping areas.

@ 3:00 you say it was dead easy but Pennard Hill was THE most overcrowded place on site...your tent did NOT have that much space a few days in...silly mistake that...get as far to the back as possible....yes its a walk when you get off the coach/car etc but a couple of days in its worth the hassle....Pennards Hill is a place to get raided and enclosed....Think!!!

Hey Mate, I go and I don't do queueing, take your own beer, wander around to find empty loo, sorted! My guess is that you have never experienced it before? :)

You guessed wrong then Su. I've been very lucky enough to attend every year since 1999 (11 times) I didn't go this year 'cos of the birth of my daughter, what we used to do was load the car right up with crates of cider and beer and a few bags if fire wood and a spare cheap 1 man tent to keep the wood dry and stop other people nicking it and a sack barrow and we would often do at least 2-3 trips, with a sack-barrow and industrial cling film, very hard work but well worth it!
