Great message. I just got through family Christmas with a hater who I used to believe loved me and had my back. I finally figured it out and keep loving moments with other family private so she’s not threatened and jealous, trying to ruin it. It’s sad how these people make themselves miserable and try to drag others down with them.
I've improved in this area. The one thing I will never do is try to seek out validation or attention, but the negative opinions I allow to sink in. Ages 8-19, 365 days a year I would get bullied for being deemed "ugly". It has caused me depression and insecurity through the years. Within myself I think I'm beautiful, but, to the outside world I don't seem to be, so it gives me a shaky confidence. Being on a big ward live I feel like a weirdo because everyone can see me. But, atleast within my own view of self I can now see the beauty I possess. It's a proccess.
I value my lady's opinion, my Dad's opinion, my Wildland Firefighter buddies opinions, and that's about it. Makes life simple. I had an ex who would be on social media all day and had to compete with 90 random dudes first thing when I walked in the door. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that BS anymore.
