- Honda Fit Fender Bender Crash Repair. Today I document my repairs on a 2008 Honda Fit that I bought wrecked for $900. The Honda Fit had no structural damage and the radiator wasn't even broken. The only non-body part that needed to be replaced was the lower control arm and the wheel/tire. I've been driving the Fit for a few weeks after the repairs and it runs well. In total I have about $2000 invested in the car and in my area these are selling for $3000-4000 with similar mileage. I'm mostly going to be driving it back and forth to work. It will keep the miles off my ZR2 and be extremely cheap to drive. Thanks for watching.

This video was so dope. The angles, the tools used, very informative and very little need for words. I used this to do a quick fender removal. It looked like no one's Gd that I have met had the clip that goes between. The fender and the driver door.
Thanks for showing us
Thanks for this video. I'm about to do something similar. hoping I don't have to buy a new bumper, though.
I just bought a 2008 Honda Fit that was damaged as well. I paid $1100 for it with 198,000 miles. I have $2300 into it total now and it runs and drives good. It's amazing how much the cheap parts on ebay add up to. The body on mine doesn't look as good as yours though. I just repaired all the mechanical issues.
Just bought one a couple of months ago, for 1500 had starting issues was just spark plugs and new battery 🔋 works perfectly throwing money into it slowly
@@Jonathan-SZ UPDATE: By the time I was done with the car I had a total of $4100 into the car between buying it and buying all the parts for it. It runs great though now! I have put 12,000 miles on it in the year that I have owned the car.

Wow excellent job
Man … what DON’T you do? Impressive!! 👍👍
Cook.
Doing all this seems like a lot of work. But hell.. every body shop that worked on my 2008 Fit did a poor job anyways. Misaligned panels, bad paint job, missing clips... You name it.
I don't have the tools or space to work with my car. But I don't mind spending the time on it if I could. It's a happiness machine for me.
Good job
well done
This is the reason you don't try to eat spaghetti and drive
Yeah should have went for the hamburger, easier to control lol.
I have a 2013 Honda fit with the hood crushed in. Do you have a video on how to remove a extremely damaged hood?
Nice video. Just curious to know what you might charge to do this job? minus the control arm.
Where did you order the mounts for the headlights? Just hit a deer last night and need to replace fender, headlight, and mounts/brackets for my lights. If you could get back with me soon I'd really appreciate it 🙌🙌
where is the best site to order Honda FIt Parts as well as the tutoring to follow . I have a Hoda Fit 2011 with a missing liners ,guards and sun visor
Whatsapp geek long time no see great work
Work has been nuts because of Covid.
@@RepairGeekthe same with every body it sucks but.
This looks like every suspension fix in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021.
Honda Fits must be accident magnets. 90% of the marketplace listings around here are branded title/rebuilt. You can tell right away too as the rebuilt ones are always photographed in empty parking lots or some random public green space. There's never any description about what was repaired, the miles are often unusually low and it may sport out of state plates. Too shady for me. Interesting video.
Your paint job looks fantastic. Do you have your own paint setup, or take the panels somewhere to get painted?
I ended up taking it to a body shop that I worked at in high school. I looked into painting it myself but the material cost was about $200. I had the bumper and fender painted for $300. He can buy paint for much cheaper than I can and if I screwed up I would have had $400 in materials doing it twice.
I wish i would have sprayed them for the sake of the video but it looks better than what I could have done.
Cool, that's a great resource to have access to. I've used a friend's setup to prime and paint small parts, but nothing big. Paint is so hard; I'm never really happy with how it turns out. It makes sense to use a professional setup if you are investing in new body panels and plastics and have it look sharp.
@@halfSpinDoctor my girlfriend also worked as a paint chemist at PPG so if I sprayed it and it looked like crap or the match was way off I would never hear the end if it. 🤣
@@RepairGeek Oh boy, that's a lot of pressure 😅.
Good buy. Did it have rear end damage also? Thanks from Carlos
Nope just this front corner. The bumper is a little loose and sagging behind the rear wheels because, rust ate away the body where the bumper clips into it.
@@RepairGeek how much would this type of damage cost to be repaired?
Where did you source your parts. I have a 08 honda fit manual transmission. I need new headlights, wheel wells, and the fender quarter panel on the front like yours! I remember when my dad bought it from the dealership new still. Brother owned it as well. I am the current owner at 210,000 miles. Just put a clutch in a few thousand miles back and had a thurough tune up done on it.
Mostly Amazon. Some parts I had to go to the junkyard to get like the small marker light plug above the headlight.
@@RepairGeek thanks for the reply!
How do I check if my honda fit 2008 has a telescopic feature for the steering wheel ?
(unless I’ve mistaken the vocab, I meant to say the steering wheel coming forward to driver or moving back far from driver)
Undo the latch for the tilt and try to pull or push it.
@@RepairGeek That’s what I did and I thought maybe there could be other ways to check it… Thanks!
Is there a good way to adjust the steering wheel telescopically when the car does not have that feature?
How much would you say this repair would have cost with the parts (2000$) and labour?
Lol maybe 500 in parts. I had 300 in paint.
What’s the name of that part you took off at 1:12? I’m having a hard time finding it
Seems like a bunch of push-pins. Plastic, two-piece expanding plugs basically.
I can’t even fix my saggy bumper and you just replaced the whole damn thing!
They're actually really cheap. Shipping kills you though.
What's the tool at 0:50? Is it a saw or something? You have to cut the fender off at the bottom???
Impact gun. There's bolts holding the bottom of the fender on.
@@RepairGeek is it possible to remove the bolts without one?
I have a 2013 fit that was in a minor passenger side bumper collision. The headlight is maybe a quarter of an inch pushed back but I can’t find anything bent or pushed back. Any ideas where to look?
