Story: Shao Shang, the daughter of the Cheng family, was left with her grandmother at a young age due to the war, becoming a "left-behind child." Her stepmother, with a wicked heart, intended to raise her as a useless person. Faced with numerous traps, Shao Shang fights for her life, pretending to be absurd while secretly studying hard, concealing her true abilities while waiting for her parents' return. I still feel sorry for Yuan bc I think what he loved in her the most was her intelligence and he has fallen at latern festival for her. What is more, he was shocked that she rejected his ball and got audacity to walk past him. None of the girls has done it before. I guess he also loved that he could tease her and she dared to talk back. He loved her freedom as he did not want an unhappy , bounding marriage as his parents had. Shaoshang personified freedom he wanted to obtain , therefore he tried to reach for her. But he always was a step too late.
He kept being cocky and picking on her instead of showing his true feelings.
@@libbye01 I think this was his style in seducing her? I mean there is a certain style in some men that they think if they provoke a girl constantly and she reacts- that means she likes him🤔? I know it is dumb, but some men are just like that. And to be honest I enjoyed their encounters, especially when Shaoshang walked all over him and did not entertain him after receiving a message for her aunt. I think he was amazed bc she was the opposite of the girls running after him. She made him run after her. Also she quickly caught up when he was jealous of her ans did not hold any negative feelings towards him.
I liked also his mother when she realised with one look that her son likes Shaoshang. In all honesty, he got crooked view on what marriage is and did not want it to himself; however with Shaoshang was willing to give it a try
